Well Raj is outside his range of comparison. Leonard's and Howard's job mostly are about applying someone else ideas and theories, Raj field is unrelated to Sheldon's. It's not that he respects his field, he just doesn't care, when he was thinking about the chance of losing his Job, Sheldon went to Raj and began elaborating a software that would have been able to replace Raj.XD
Sheldon and Raj have a special relationship. Raj can easily get under Sheldon's skin compared to others. Unlike Howard, he actually doesn't mind spending time with Sheldon alone. And Sheldon doesn't mock Raj's career as much as he does with other guys.
Astrophysics is the only field out of the 4 guys that Sheldon respects. He doesn't respect Engineers and he thinks lesser of Applied Physicists like Leonard. Astrophysics is theoretical, just like Sheldon's work, so he respects it
@@thefnafdetective It's also that Raj went to Cambridge a better school. You'll see Raj poking fun at other's colleges but no Sheldon doesn't fire back.
@@yesterdayitrained Thanks Fellini. We enjoyed it in the moment. We didn’t claim it was new. I think we both appreciated the BBT riff on standard TV as a stand alone moment of television. Stop being a condescending prick on line. Do it to my face.
@Samuel Shin You're telling me that rather than writing down their work, they decided to stare at a complicated physics problem and try to do mental math? That's neither efficient nor feasible. This isn't simple arithmetic or it would've been solved before the camera had a chance to pan to Sheldon
Actually if I remember correctly, not only does he genuinely respect Raj's work but he hires him in order for poor Raj not to get deported. A true all-around friend.
This is literally the ONLY time we saw Raj do any REAL physics research. Finding a planet by sheer luck through a giant telescope and hosting some planetarium show doesn't count.
I actually really enjoy the moments in BBT that actually show the guys being real Caltech researchers and academics. Unfortunately, those moments just got less and less as the series progressed
The show started off based on more science humor and ended more like every typical sitcom with a few love stories. They went from clever to basic. Wow!
@@khalyleedwards7735 Ikr?! Things just got drastically more dull when they all got married and starting their own families. I suppose that is how real life is like.
Im also noticed that....but tbbt never gave rajesh's a breakthrough or achievement compare to haward became an astronaut and leonerd got a chance at Hawking's work. Raj end up alone with no girlfriend no achievement. Thats what Americans do with an indian guy.
@@Salahuddin-jc4fy what are you saying ? He discovered a star and got featured in 30 under 30. Lesser achievement than Howard of course but better than the others.
Raj's girlfriend Emily was gorgeous 😍 He also hooked up with Penny Dated multiple women 30 under 30 Operated a show Alway insulted mighty sheldon Lived like king in a apartment Was rich intelligent What more do u want ?
This duo was extraordinarily underused. Their Dark Matter team up and their battle over the desks were some of the best episodes. There should have been a few episodes a season dedicated to these types of brilliant scenarios.
The entire scene is GOLD but “So you were wrong” “I didn’t say that” “That’s the only logical inference” “Nevertheless I didn’t say it” Gets me every time 😂
In reality it doesn't usually look this fun.But academics has its moments.Like when out team had a breakthrough we spent a whole night looking at our results.just admiring what we had discovered. One of the best days of my life
"I'm the boss, I make the jokes," that is funny and the delivery is just perfect. It is funny because we all know Sheldon would NEVER make a joke while working on a topic he considers serious.
They couldve developed Raj's character as a counterweight to sheldons stubbornness. Especially after they decided to lose leslie winkle who previously did the job of providing some conflict with sheldon. Post the 7th season raj has been highly underutilised and the show has become more about shamy, howard and bernadette rather than the gang as a whole.
Ashcool Yeah but its nowhere close to what was there in the episode in this video. Also what i mean is the storyline is almost always about something happening between Sheldon and amy or Howard and bernadette, with the others just filling in as extras. earlier the gang worked as a cohesive whole along a central storyline not focused on a character but an event. Now the show is just shit.
You so missed every message you could have gotten from this humorous scene! Ok, accepting the job of Sheldon's assistant is Raj's only chance to not get expelled back to India at that point...if I recall it right. He actually starts out being in a fairly subordinate position. However, Raj wins every fight in this scene and clearly is the superior one, speaking of his emotional intelligence, his quick-wittes banter and also his (astronomical) expertise. Narcissistic Sheldon feeling frightened by all those qualities due to his immature personality, why he then treats Raj like an inferior on purpose, only underlines Raj's actual position. In the end, he's the one running out and Sheldon the one getting him back to work *with* him. Yeah, officially he has no rights or conditions in Sheldon's office, that is just Sheldon and Raj's character dynamic as friends and a major part of the show's ironic humor. 🤷🏻♀️ After all, no servant would pay his master back the way Raj does in the following episode. 😁 You need to actually watch this clever show while you're seeing it!
People don't understand the real meaning of this show. In the final episode, Howard and Bernedette have kids, Penny is pregnant, Sheldon and Amy are married and Raj doesn't have a wife. This tells that all these friends are in different phases of adulthood, ie, they are all Unmarried, Married, Pregnant and Parents. This also tells a lot about "Super Asymetry"(Yes, the idea that won Sheldon and Amy the Nobel prize). Their friendship is totally asymetrical... there is no neatness unlike in Friends, where there are 3 guys and 3 girls. In TBBT, there are 4 guys and 3 girls;1 foreigner and 6 natives; 3 couples and 1 single; 1 Jew, 1 Hindu, 1 Catholic but 4 protestants... however hard you try, there is no symmetry in their friendship. But, Sheldon and Amy later come to the conclusion that the universe is asymetrical or symetrical based on the observer- we, the viewers, manage to find the group's audience find the friendship very neat despite how asymetrical it is! The theme of the show is the beauty in asymetry.
That’s an awesome comment- deep and insightful. Best post here by far. You should have like 5K likes at least! Thank you so much- I agree with your analysis - very well done!
Raj: "I'm the Astrophysicist! 'Astro' means space!" Sheldon: "'Astro' means STAR!" Raj: "And where do you finds STARS?! Oh right. SPACE!" *Raj does the thing with his hands.*
I gotta say I love Raj and Sheldon together. They have a great friendship. Raj seems to be the only one to bring any sort of respect out of Sheldon when it comes to his own field of work, not to mention proving him wrong. Though I do love how in later seasons Howard also stands on his own and prove his worth to Sheldon too... Leonard I feel has a long way to go in that respect only because he keeps getting pushed over by Sheldon though for what it's worth, I feel like that's the reason Sheldon considers Leonard his best friend. Because Leonard is easy to push around and he cares a lot about what Sheldon thinks despite trying to act like he doesn't. By comparison, Raj and Howard really could care less.
Raj and Sheldon my most favorite characters in big bang theory and both are good in their own way but I felt that throughout the show Raj is been underrated
Underrated duo in the series, it's great when a sitcom mixes duos that don't get enough time alone or give something (like this) realistic. I feel weird with a friend another friend is close to and introduced me to and feel we work better in a group. Like Chandler with Phoebe, or Kramer with George, or Charlie Sheen with his nephew in Two and a half men. Raj and Sheldon have something different than Him and Leonard or Penny. Realistically you'd at sometime be stuck with a friend who isn't close to you at more frequent moments. Would've loved too, more Howard & Leonard or Amy & Leonard or Sheldon's Mom with the 3 nerds without Shelley, lmao. Or Stewart (Stewart's replacement when he went on a date with Penny was quite funny too), Kripke, Penny's dumb ex who displayed as Superman (he could've grown as a character, like said other 2 names mentioned). Raj & Howard played into the homosexual thing a lot, which is funny but was overdone, sometimes. My 2 cents, sorry for rambling. Still enjoy the series, though I have yet to watch it all the way through; seasons 1-5 mostly in 4 weeks. 🍻
This scene was fabulous for two reasons. It showed me that Sheldon actually respected Raj as a fellow physicist unlike Leonard who he ridicules at every given opportunity merrily. We saw a whole lot of bromance between Raj and Howard. But the real gem was how Sheldon never berated Raj for his idiosyncrasy of not being able to talk to attractive women. I wish there was more to Raj and Sheldon just like I wish there was more to Chandler and Joey. The writers were brilliant to a fault in this scene. I felt Amy's character was a refreshing departure from a stereotypical pretty woman's character depicted by Penny.
0:57 They made another mistake Sheldon's a neat freak He'd never willfully sleep on the floor. Even if it's his office, plus raj is in there with shoes.
It is because of people like these, staring off into the void, that we are landing the rocket back on the launch pad!! Visualization is a corner stone of solving problems.
Scenes with Sheldon and Raj together steal the show. They’re the funniest scenes in the series. I love how Sheldon knows more about India than Raj. Like being fluent in Hindi and Raj is a born and raised citizen of India but doesn’t know Hindi or Indian history and Sheldon is a white guy from Texas USA🤣🤣🤣.
