He is surprised that Penny is jealous because he was never going at Alex. But if When he and Penny had broken, Alex was around, he would definitely had gone out with Alex and it may have ended their relationship(sexually), forever. But remember, the writers have the final say.

Penny has the upper hand in this relationship because of Leonard inexperience with dating women and because of his painfully relationship with his mother. Plus Penny has had multiple relationships with men. And they have not worked out for her. Leonard is not her type(physically and sexually), but somehow she loves Leonard because he care deeply about her well being. He loves Penny but is insecure about their relationship. Just leave it at that. Not all men have confidence when it come to male female relationship. He just has develop that part of himself. He has to fight for Penny because his heart tell him to. Some people call him a fool. He may well be one . but like Penny says "the heart wants what the heart wants".

Something just doesn’t sit right with having a friend of the opposite gender crash at your house. Especially an ex for that matter. I guess it depends on the person and relationship, but it’s inconsiderate and insensitive to your partner. I could never do something like that myself nor be okay with my partner doing it Unless the person was family. It just crosses the line and goes against my rooted and preconceived social paradigms. I view a home and living with someone as deeply personal and intimate, something shared with yourself, family, your partner (and I guess friends if they are opposite your sexual attraction). So having someone of the opposite gender (if your heterosexual) just breaks that idea for me and makes me incredibly uncomfortable as there is no guarantee something won’t happen. I can definitely see where Leonard is coming from in this video, especially when he asks if the friend is gay.

For stephanie, she had a point considering she came in as if she slept in those clothes. For priya, just the idea that they went out and they still hang out after so possible feelings remain but she was too afraid of her parents so who cares. I hate when my family fights. This happens all the time at family reunions. My mother gets attacked(verbally) by my grandma and step grandfather. My grandparents also fight. THEY also speak Chinese, which I can't, and I CANNOT UNDERSTAND!!!!!!

I come from a Mexican family. We can't go 2 days without screaming and fighting with each other. Family fighting is more of a symbol of our closeness at this point. The only time we don't fight is when something happens to one of us and the rest go and support them.

At first you can hear her telling him "I told you about him" and Leonard saying "No you didn't". She probably did tell him that she would have a friend over, but he forgot or didn't paid enough attention. Point being, she (at the very least thought) she had already told him, so it's not like she didn't care to tell him and Leonard came home to see a stranger in Penny's house.
the end of this video where sheldon's actions convey anger but the tone of his voice seems perfectly calm made me wonder if he really knows a lot more of how others feel about him but never know how to express it in a certain mood or when to express it, this is because the tone of his voice may mean that he is trying to not act angrily since he knows leonard had a bad interaction
Leonard should have calmly told her how it made him feel instead of talking down to her, however, Penny is def in the wrong more. It is one thing to have a friend sleep on your couch a few days but a ex-boyfriend NOPE. To me its not a matter of trust it about showing respect to the person you are with at the time.
Moreover she didn't mention it to him at all. Not that she needed his permission, but when you're in a monogamous relationship, it's the right thing to do to at least run it by your partner.
But Leonard was already mad even before he knew about Justin and Penny having a thing in the past (not that I think that matters, you can be friends with your ex). If she said she is helping out a friend by letting him sleep on her couch, why can't he take her at her word? He is basically interrogating her and assuming things, and it's clear that he does not trust her. If someone pulled this stunt with me that would be the end of it. There is nothing more toxic to a relationship than being unable to trust your partner.

When I was a kid, my mom and stepdad use to fight all the time. Wasn’t till I got older and realized that they’re reasons for fighting were ridiculous and there was no need to worry. Besides they always made up, 5 minutes later. 😂

I'm with Leonard on this one.... Penny's ex is going to be living with her for a couple of days and he's probably a lot better looking that Leonard so ofcourse he's gonna feel insecure! Also, when Alex flirted with Leonard, Penny got mad. So according to her logic, Leonard can't get mad due to a situation created by Penny HOWEVER, Penny can get get mad at Leonard because a situation that wasn't in is hands.
I like that they are dating again too, but in honesty, Penny is freakin' gorgeous and it's EXTREMELY hard to have the same amount of trust as Penny has on Leonard.... I wish they gave Alex's role more of a push to where she could impact Penny just a little bit more
Love the show so much, yet I do think penny is wrong here I mean double standards if Leonard did that he would be the bad one. If they are in a relationship they should come to an agreement on this friend.
Personally I think Penny is the wrong here. While I'm not in any way saying Leonard is the right either, he should show more trust in her, but in this instance, she's definitely the one who's in the wrong here. I'm NOT saying she should abandon her friend either, but she's basically just sitting there not caring about Leonard's feelings at all, she should've at least been more understanding because she's been on that side of the pond too yet she has the gulls to bitch about Leonard's feelings. Not only that, but she also has a track record of getting dicking him around at first in the relationship, and then breaks up with him. Look people, both of them are in the wrong for various reasons. Communication was not used here at all. Penny should have given Leonard a heads up that she was going to have an ex boyfriend stay with her. No Leonard does not have the right to dictate who she allows into her apartment or to stay with her. Penny should understand where Leonard is coming from about an ex staying with her. Yes Leonard should trust Penny more. The best compramise for a situation like this is to have her ex stay with Leonard and Sheldon. This ensures that the dude isn't out on his ass, Penny still gets to see him, and Leonard can get to know him to try and be friends with him.
