Thank you for the LSI discount code. 4x rotors and pads were ordered and delivered within a few days for my 120. Pads and rotors work beautifully. Kit was supplied with a complimentary can of brake cleaner. Very happy so far with the performance and very happy with the LSI web page and service.
After wirebrushing I don’t INOX only because of the lubricant on the stud bolt supposedly stretches the stud, but I do like how the hub surface gets a thin film of corrosion protection (at least for a short time), so I will now do this too. I like how it washes off some left over loose rust as well saving wiping the hub down with a rag. However, because I’m OCD, I might throughly wipe each of the studs with a rag. The nuts should spin on nicely without too much oil residue. That INOX is a good product for sure. I also like Lanotec, except it’s a bit stickier, which should be better for the hub corrosion protection, but a pain to wipe off the studs unless using thinners with the rag when wiping the studs. Gee, $25 is a steal…or is that steel, LOL? I do like that slotted design, especially after going through water as it will dry those pads fairly quickly. I’ll have to place an order with LSI auto using the discount and get a box of oil filters at the same time. Thanks for these tips. Love the tie wire idea too. I know you don’t have to, but I like to wirebrush the pins, then smear a very light coating of Bendix lubricant on them. Again, it’s my OCD, I can’t help it!😢
Only replace rotors when the the thickness is less than specification, or if machining will make it less than specs. Only machine if you get pulsation under brakes. As you slow up to lights the “grabbing” pulse to the next pulse gets longer each rotation till stopped. That’s a warped rotor. A few things can cause this.
Hi Anthony, im chasing a set of injectors and glow plugs for a 120 prado 1kz. Having trouble finding decent ones. Could you point me in the right direction. Cheers Adam brown
