The people who illegally parked are breaking the law. But questions of legality surround the tow companies who often patrol private lots at no cost to the property owner. (KOIN 6 News)
The real predators are the drivers who CHOOSE to STEAL parking spaces illegally. The towing companies are clearing these SQUATTERS from private property.
So, how does the tow company know that the car parked in the apartment lot is a visitor or parked illegally? How does the tow company know that the car parked in the restaurant or store lot belongs to a patron or is illegally parked? What happens when a tow company illegally tows a vehicle from someone's personal driveway and not from a commercial or apartment lot? Will the tow company cheerfully admit their mistake and release the car at no charge and pay for incidental expenses caused by the tow? That should be written into the law.
I don't have a per se problem with this sort of towing. BUT there ought to be stiff and immediate penalties when a company makes a mistake. Perhaps costs and fees awarded automatically plus treble damages. That would make it worthwhile for people wrongfully towed to take their cases to small claims, and would give towers a real incentive to get things right in the first place.
I have a good one for you if anybody who drives a vehicle park in our spot turn your steering wheel completely One Direction if it’s left or right lock the steering wheel lock the doors if they take your vehicle look at the door and look at the wheels if they’re straight call the police that is theft because they broke into your personal vehicle to straighten the steering wheel I did this in Washington DC I had the truck driver arrested for theft of a vehicle it works
I feel for for the guy who was towed off his own property but many of these people are stealing spots to make their lives easier. Check out Gtoger and enjoy people having Karma come calling.
At was at a shopping center a while back saw a tow truck pulled up to the car and towing it off. The woman was parked in the No parking zone in front of the store. a woman come running out of Dollar General chased the tow truck on foot all the way across the parking lot waving her hands just had to laugh as I walked by the Dollar General there was about 5 empty places to park but she parked in the no parking zone
Dont park where you have no business parking and you dont have a problem( very limited exceptions). People that park in posted lots have no bitch coming
how about the guy who had the tow company illegally trespass on his property to steal cars?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
I will say that both the business owners and the towing companies are technically right but when the state passee a law but they both disregard it like trash
Who's breaking the law... Those who park illegally or the tower's...really!!! All this story made me feel is sorry for the tow companies If a company asks you to patrol their private property to enforce their parking rules and tow away illegally parked cars then they have every right to do so...the only guy I felt sorry for is the guy who got towed from his property Everyone else: read the signs or get towed
It's quite simple, don't park illegally, especially where there are a ton of signs (odds are that place is watched). You roll the dice parking illegally, you lose and get towed, you get no sympathy from me.
so the guy who had his cars stolen from HIS OWN F***ING PROPERTY DESERVED IT, DRUNKARD????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????/
