Showtime’s hit comedy-drama, Shameless, ran for 11 seasons and had pretty much everything we could want from a television show. This is the big reason why Emmy Rossum quit Shameless.
@@horsing_it_all_night These so much personal opinions. I got no idea about actors so I shut up, but you with this don't know a shit as well. Comment like that would take me 30seconds to google smth simillar. Let actual people share their thoughts. And just for you know, so many people who experienced trauma can't actually cry, not on demand, but general. So leave your only pesonal stuff for your family and not for world where people are different.
I think there’s a few things behind this which have been ignored, but doesn’t defend that she didn’t have an increase in raise really 1) William H Macy is a more known actor which means he is going to be paid more on average. He is a face and brings in his own audience 2) William H Macy wrote some of the episodes where as far as I know, Emmy Rossun never did 3) Emmy Rossun’s attitude was detailed as being rather cruel to the cast and workers. Chances are this is partially why they wouldn’t be bothered trying to
Good riddance, not gonna lie. She’s only good without her clothes on. Also, the actress playing Debbie opened up about Rossum being a total a- hole during sets
@@critdaddysama4656But she did get the pay bump plus BACK PAY for all these years. She completed her final season and decided to leave. Clearly they thought she was worth it.
Nah he worked more and he is more famous it's only fair also there's rumors that Emmy Rossum acted like a diva and was difficult to work with not sure if it's true or not but she did get like $350,000 per episode that's not bad
She was not very popular among the cast members either, often cited as displaying rude behavior towards co-stars, which also increased the time of her departure from the show.
I honestly stopped watching SHAMELESS after her character left. I tried watching for Ian and Mickey but i couldn't anymore. Fiona was by far my favourite character on the show😩
I love her character in the show, and I think killed it and actually MADE the show to a degree. I didn’t enjoy quite as much after she left, but I’ll be honest and a little disappointed to hear that she wasn’t the most pleasant person to work with on set.
Funny how she does all the work on the show, and Frank never lifted a finger, but in reality, she was the centrepiece of the show, and she was still paid less than him.
I heard that she was an @## anyway. The actress who played Debbie spoke on how Emmy constantly competed with her over everything on set, which is ridiculous because of the enormous age gap.
This is not true, nobody wanted her on the show anymore bc she always made the other actors feel bad abt themselves and made her personal problems outside of the show everyone else problems and was always so negative towards everyone and everyone told her to either change her attitude while on set or to leave and never come back so she left
@@jenaprincessthey're not lying. The womans a bitch and got what she didn't deserve. Women always think they should get paid equal just because theyre women. I own a business and i don't hire women for this exact reason
I don't think any actor or actress alive deserves to make more money than like doctors or something but since they do her whining that thousands of dollars an episode isn't enough is pathetic when you really get down into it 😂 actor and actresses attitudes are gross
Pretty much anyone within reason could of played Fiona but not just anyone could play frank.Plus the show is dead without Frank.William h is unreplaceable.
She isn't the same caliber of actor as Frank but her stat power is rising. It's not a sexism thing at all. It's a star power draw that drives actor pay.
Bingo. Another example is Star Wars episode 7. The female lead actress got paid $350k and the male lead got paid like $10 million, easy to claim some "-ism" b.s in that situation. . . . . . But comparing a fresh face new actresses pay, to Harrison Fords pay, is ludicrous. Easy to swap out one of those characters story or switch actor. . . Impossible to not have Harrison Ford without massive script rewrites. With Shameless, quality went down when Fiona left. . . But the show went on. Losing H. Macy would have ended the show.
The main reason why i watched Shameless is because of her. She's a great actress and did so much more. And the fact they couldn't pay her more, they don't deserve her then.
I’m of the minority that still enjoys the show without Fiona. I’m watching for the first time and I’m about halfway into season 10 and tbh I haven’t really noticed she’s gone. She went through hell in season 9, so her leaving just made sense. It’s weird she expected to be paid as much as William h Macy lmaoooo girl ain’t no one heard of you til this show.
Its a hard situation though, she is brilliant and i hope she does go on to make more money. But William H Macy's name still carries more weight. Anytime iv mentioned his name, everyone always respondeds by, 1. Knowing immediately who that is & 2. They recognise him favourably. Emmy Rossum though, not so much, you have to then say, "shes in shameless".
When she started she was a sweet mean awesome girl you would let her get away with her silliness and bitching cause she was your girl, but then she turned into that nasty woman she is now😢
Wanting as much as William H Macy is crazy. Far more accomplished actor and him being attached to the show was more than likely what helped it get the attention it did. Loved Emmy and believe she gave a hell of a performance, but still there are levels to it. The show might not have even been picked up if they didn’t attach Macy to the series
They had 1 full season without her and the show crashed and burned. It’s a fact. Having a big name won’t save you if you can’t carry the show by yourself.
I would normally agree but She carried the show and did the more complex scenes, has significantly more air time. The show crumbled after she left so obviously it was worth it. Clearly the network & studios were being greedy. To them the money barely made a difference, but to someone like her - its means everything to show that type of recognition.
I'm not even watching shameless but they always come across my feed I knew the story line 🤣 also it seems like she's also a veteran actress working from a young age so aside from years she spent being an actress she was a great actress imagine all the mental damage this rome may inflict on her you know some actor was so into their character it may also affect their personality.
She was the most unlikable person on the show.. worse than frank. Her departure vastly improved the show though the original British version was still the best.
He did more work tho and he is more famous of course he is going to get paied more and $350,000 per episode is not bad so no I don't think that card works this time
