Most couples leave people waiting at their weddings because they have cold feet, but Sheldon and Amy leave people waiting because they are working on a formula for cold fusion, they're perfect for each other.
The moment ties the ending to the title of the show. The Theory of Super Asymmetry is about the way the Universe was formed after the The Big Bang. At the conclusion of TBBT, Sheldon and Amy win the Nobel Prize in Physics for this idea. This is a Cosmology question - Energy is only one dimension...Space (Length, Wide and Height/Depth) in a state of expansion...Gravity...Time are other dimensions that this theory would cover. Explaining the mathematical relationship between all the dimensions would explain out the past, present and future of the Universe. 🤓🌎🤪
I like how instead of just doing it on his own, sheldon went to amy because it was something he really wanted to share her and then when amy was giving him credit, he put his ego aside and gave her credit as well. He really does love amy.
And then he stopped working on it for her, so that he could give her the wedding she wants. Sheldon stopped working on a new scientific idea for Amy. That's the highest sign of love from Sheldon, put her above science.
The fact that it took Leonard only a split second and a quick gaze at the mirror to understand what they were discussing gets me every time. We often forget Leonard also possesses an overwhelmingly sharp brain as the show always focused on Sheldon's.
That's the most impressive part of the scene. It's not that Sheldon is brilliant. We all know that. It's that it took Leonard only a few seconds of scanning the board to realize what it meant and how intriguing the possibilities were. We forget that Leonard has a world-class mind as well.
If I recall in previous episodes we see Sheldon get visibly upset when someone interrupts his work/makes him stop. So the fact that he was the one to say that they should go get married is just the best
I think it would have been hilarious if they kept sending their smarter friends and associates to get them, but they all kept getting distracted by Sheldon's theory/formula.
One of the things I always appreciated about this scene is how Leonard almost immediately started helping with research once he noticed what Sheldon and Amy were doing. It clearly wasn’t the first time he had done that for Sheldon, and Sheldon has almost certainly returned the favor. Yet another reminder that the two of them really were peas in a pod.
if you think about it, Sheldon had his epiphany moment with his mom, with Amy and he mentions sheets that was his epiphany with Penny. He truly needed human connections of love and friendship to get him to this point. His intellect alone wouldn't do it.
The fact Leonard was able to grasp the math and equations almost immediately just proves that he was a lot more intelligent than he was given credit for.
I love how Sheldon immediately complemented her and did so again with a genuine smile "Amy and I" and saying the marriage is now more important than science was also surprisingly wonderfull
Yeah I just caught that line about sheets. Their Nobel Prize was literally built on everybody's help and contribution and that's what makes Sheldon's acceptance speech so beautiful.
It’s one of my favorite aspects of the scene. It clearly wasn’t the first time that Leonard did that for Sheldon, and we’ve seen Sheldon help Leonard in similar ways.
@@dmedilicious8488 not really. Leonard, Howard and Sheldon are all very high achieving in their respective fields. Only difference is the other two don't belittle others' fields like Sheldon does. In reality theoretical phycists don't get the luxury that Sheldon has: the more applied guys don't seek theoretical phycists' approval, and the pure mathematicians make fun of phycists. For majority of the show Sheldon was not a nobel prize winner so he won't really be considered more 'genius' than those in other fields.
@@xx765 i mean to be fair, sheldon makes fun of Leonard most of the time cause Leonard does Experiments that other already did or he try to prove theorys that other have already proven, and as far as the show has shown to the audience, sheldon is right.
I think no one has got a little point but when Sheldon explains how he is introducing the asymmetry, he explains that the sheets in 4D have asymmetrical knots, which is a concept given by Penny when Sheldon explains her the strings theory, so Penny DID help sheldon solve the string theory
The bond between Penny and Sheldon is like brother and sister - even though they have their spats, they would move heaven and earth for the other. The way she stands up for Sheldon and puts Amy's mom in her place (and Sheldon's mom too) is showing the strength and love she has.
Penny is more happy on sheldon's marriage day than her own! Leonard supporting his best friend even though time is running out!! Amy and Sheldon supporting each other, even though its not appropriate time!!! No wonder, these 4 make such an awesome combo!!!!
“Give me your lipstick!” “What-“ “Oh just give it to me, you beautiful thing WE got work to do!” This is probably the MOST wholesome of Sheldon as a soon to be husband SHOULD behave~ Even gasping AGAIN seeing Amy in her wedding dress again~ Sheldon is on fire~
Sheldon cooper is without a doubt for me the greatest character development in any show. I am putting him above Anakin Skywalker and Walter white when I say that
Hammel had just been in his accident, and was on a ton of pain killers when he did his guest appearance for the holiday special, if anyone is wondering what the ‘I don’t remember’ line was about.
What i love is how Sheldon who is so obsessed with winning the nobel prize ( since he was 9 years old ) was the one who said to leave it. Their marriage was more important
This is literally one of my favorite BBT scenes of all time, from mark hammil to Stuart being hot too pennys “what are you LUNATICS DOING?! Oh Science? SHOCKING!” It’s just pure brilliance.
Fun fact: both Sheldon and Amy mothers are played by two iconic horror actresses: Ms. Fowller is played by Kathy Bates who was the creepy Annie in Misery and Mary is played by Laurie Metcalf who was Nancy Loomis aka Debbie Salt, the Ghostface killer in Scream 2.
Rewatching this after young sheldon makes me really impressed with the casting of sheldons mom. Im pretty sure the actresses who played them are related
Weirdly they are another kind of couplegoals. I'm not an Amy, not interested in a Sheldon, but they work together so well, and love each other because of who they are and don't care how it looks to others, we should all feel that kind of love once in our lives.
@@0biwan7 every year he calls into desert bus for hope, a week long charity live stream where a bunch of people play desert bus, a mini game from Penn and Teller's unreleased game smoke and mirrors. There's even a story about how Teller tried calling in the first year, but they didn't believe it was him. He tried buying everyone pizza but Dominos struggled to understand that Teller is his full legal name for charging his card.
I don’t blame him. When you are associated with one of the worst things to come out of a given franchise, you tend to distance yourself from it, to the point where you don’t even acknowledge its existence. It’s actually kind of like the Nintendo-licensed games for the Philips CD-i: despite giving their approval to be made, the end results were so poor, Nintendo doesn’t acknowledge their existence anymore.
IMO too! I'm so happy when I hear them in Young Sheldon's narration talking about their son and his graduation. Proves they are still very much in love even after many years have passed. Can't wait for their appearance in the finale! 😍
This show was about making fun of nerds turned FRIENDS ripoff. Though mad props to holding all their cast for 12 yrs to pull the greatest ending of all time. It's not as wise as Brooklyn 99 was with societal issues and the brilliant characters or as smart with the comedy like Parks and Recs. But every character did slam and bully the heck out of each other.
If you hark back to a previous episode, a psychic said that Sheldon might start to find inspiration again in his work if he focused more on Amy. The two get married, and then end up coming up with a theory that wins them the Nobel Prize.
1:54 I don't blame Mark at all for forgetting the Star Wars Holiday Special. It was yeah, it was a thing, and it was, well. Least said about it the better.
Fun fact: The actress who plays Sheldon's mother also did the voice for Andy's mother in the Toy Story franchise. Two iconic motherly roles that absolutely DEFINE both my childhood and teenage years.
Luke being on Kashyyyk is debatable. He appears in three segments: the scene where he's working on his X-wing, the cartoon, and the finale. In the X-wing scene, it's never stated where he is, hence debatable. In the cartoon, he's on the water moon of Panna. In the finale, everyone walks into a star and arrive at the Tree of Life--go figure that one out, but signs point to no on it being Kashyyyk.
Not to mention that the holiday special was the first piece of star wars to be removed from canon (with lucas never allowing it to be aired or released in any way, even now it's the only thing not on Disney+ and they have the two ewok films and droids), with maybe the exception of the cartoon where boba felt first appears (which is on Disney+). With life day and chewie's family being reincorparated into lore later, with life dsy even existing in the current continuity (not sure about chewie's family).
