I think star wars legends is really cool and I'm usually pretty pleased when something from the legends makes its way into canon (example: Darth Bane), but I'm mostly only into the canon. Personal preference, you do you.

I have read the last one of these books as a child and remember the big droids and the smaller version at landos side ^^ Funny enough that exact these droids from that book came to my mind as i read the title of this video.

Interesting video, but the largest droid ever made in Legends is actually IG-88, who uploaded his consciousness to the second Death Star in order to make himself as non-human looking as possible while also being as powerful as possible. It was part of his master plan to lead a robot uprising that would kill all organic life in the galaxy, but the plan was of course thwarted with the destruction of the second Death Star.

The Silentium remind me of the Gravital from All Tomorrows by C.M. Koseman (or vice versa).

All the huge, life-exterminating droid ships sound a lot like the Berserkers, from the Fred Saberhagen books.

The spherical form of the droid looks kinda like a Servitor from Destiny... Probably just sheer coincidence.

An entire species driven to unknown space by a galactic civil war fought by droids. That actually sounds really cool, although I'd like it better if the Yuuzong Vong were mostly peaceful except for a large faction that arrived before they did.

The Death Star was technically a droid because one of the ig-88 series droids downloaded it's self into the Death Star.

Well I don't really like the wild nature of and the inconsistency of Legends, it's just...too much to keep track of. And really the only Legends things I like are the Rogue Squadron-style games and Empire at War-style games. I feel like a lot of Star Wars Legends creators were trying to out-sci-fi one another and other fandoms like Star Trek. It was cool at first, then it just got out of hand.

I respect Legends & the Expanded Universe content, but the Pre-Trilogy sorta wrecked the stories of R2-D2 & C-3PO before "Star Wars: a New Hope" & more. And so I sorta agree with the whole slow & thorough recanonization of a reasonable number of Legends & Expanded Universe content, but that is about it.

I am pretty sure the Centrality didn't have any ISDs, just Dreadnoughts, Carracks and smaller.

I think IG-88 downloaded himself into the Death Star once in legends, making the Death Star technically the largest droid.

You should do a video on The Republic & CIS vs The Rebels and The Empire. Or some combination of those groups. Or Rebellion vs Republic. I've always found it interesting if the Rebels went against the Republic because the Republic was focused on carriers with good, advanced fighters.

The abominors never made sense to me. These massive monstrous machines that almost wiped out an entire galaxy...that run on combustion engines reliant on specific materials. Instead what if they were nanite AI's that used whatever was around. It would explain why the great heep was so analogue, and how they were able to travel through space, if the nanites were on a world that had advanced tech they could build advanced ships and bodies, so they were never big themselves, they just wore big pants so to speak.

Heard the Han Solo- solo? movie might be a trilogy ... and Lando is featured throughout this. Not sure when the droid civilization in the video and Lando team up, but that trilogy would be an awesome place to put the monster droids into the canon lore. Those young starfish droid kinda remind me of the Matrix squid robot thing. Both physical appearance are a bit similar plus the Matrix itself was self aware perhaps each of its creations had some form of AI beyond just routine programming. That book, on the droids, you can pick maybe a few droids at a time to review, perhaps by "classification" like battle, utility, purpose, weapons, maker/creator, etc. Thank you for the content. Beyond the cartoons & movies I have a huge ignorance of the Star Wars stories. Your channel fills in a lot, give me great entertainment, and keeps me into the franchise (which I nearly shrank away from after I was "awakened" forcefully).
