They have been doing this exact thing for 3 decades starting from top gear in the 90s and ended in 2019 which is really a shame that they stopped doing this just 2 years ago since everyone who watch these 3 from top gear really like these 3 so much that top gear/grand tour have their own fanbase pretty much that is also quirky. I'm pretty sure that they would also make a Scotland Special according to everyone in the comment section.

No the BBC are laughing. The grand tour is nothing like it used to be, releases one show a year at the moment and is quite the disappointment. I loved old top gear but the GT doesn’t excite me now, hopefully they will bring it back.

@@williamg209two which always seemed really strange to me because he is a really good presenter I quite enjoyed him on wipeout but most of the shows he presents are documentaries and I don’t think he does it to collect a fan base that’s exactly what top gear is for he appears to really be interested in so many things scientific and loves to talk about and show these things in shows.

Being at "Burning Van" was an amazing experience and so thankful to TGT for allowing hundreds of fans to be a part of this historical and magical moment in the show. It was so much more than a television production. Huge props to the entire production team for making what could have been a miserable day being an extra standing in the desert for hours, into a magical car-show spectacle.

Contract wasn't renewed for Clarkson, so he *technically* wasn't fired, but my impression from scuttlebutt was they'd been gunning for a while. Assaulting someone isn't exactly something you can sweep under the carpet for someone anyway (unless you're jimmy savile apparently). So Hammod and May refused to sign theirs, and the director and production team walked with the three of them to Amazon, because they knew Top Gear wasn't being watched for the cars; it was being watched because of three friends pratting about with cars. "Their" show was a money printer and apparently not a hard sell to Amazon. I remember when it came out/was announced I was in an electronics shop, and got a steady stream of people wanting firestocks and the like to watch it.

and BBC’s top gear had great production quality too (with these guys there). and their specials were quite entertaining too. and with amazon’s infinite budget they just could not pass that (like the buggy special or the seamen for that matter) i admit top gear went downhill especially with chris behind the wheels, the infinite budget did not yield much more what we had before. at the end of the third season they’ve got pretty close and there were genuinely funny episodes but i think most of the fun came from the limited budget and it inspured creativity more. i just wish they would continue as a car show properly and give us one or two specials a year ... rather than this two special per 2 years :) out of which one was seamen... god i miss these guys

The contrast in this is amazing, going from gloomy London to sunny LA, black cab to colorful muscle cars, and saying goodbye to one to being welcomed by hundreds. Even though I’ve seen this episode so many times, it still brings me joy knowing that this happened.
