That shot of the crowd making the „push” gesture while the riff from Iron Man is blaring in the background is unironically my favourite shot of the entire show. Bill-dozer was badass.
James Alvarado it’s kind of his own fault for not recognizing what a jerk his ex-wife was before it was too late, but he unfortunately seems to have a thing for it considering he did date Leanne for a while, though he did move onto relatively healthier relationships after that.
Well put, mental illness can totally take a perfectly great life and turn it upside down and that's what happened to poor bill, he went from being the man and the most bad ass out of all the guys to being the laughingstock and whipping post for the other guys.sad but I can relate to bill alot
He was even getting as much, if not MORE, action than Boomhauer back then. How sad it is when people peak in high school, then have to suck the rest of their lives.
I've got some uncles who were football players & got hot women during high school. 3 went to Vietnam & never were the same & now two died of alcohol. What you said is so true
Seems very unlikely considering Peggy finds Bill disgusting. She also took a very holier-than-thou attitude upon discovering Nancy's affair. Bobby is Hank's son, he just came out...different from his father in many ways.
One of the most beautifully sad aspects of this show is how their time in High School football really defined them. Not only are their glory-days behind them, affecting Bill more than the others, but Boomhaur reveals in one episode that their coach was secretly drugging them with "horse crank". So none of their collective achievements really were THEIRS. Not that they didn't train and work hard, they just had an unfair advantage and should never have gotten as far as they did. That fact also explains how all of the known players on that team have really gone down-hill physically after that. It's a real tragedy, and only slightly mentioned over a few episodes. Beautiful.
I dont remember the horse crank episode. But honestly this really applies to bill alone. Hank got married loves his job and is over all a happy man. Dale, the freckled faced skinny weirdo. Married one of the hotest woman in rainy street. Sure she cheated on him for 15 years. But he lived in blissfully happiness for most of it. Then in true happiness when Nancy realised how much she actually loved Dale. Because how unconditional and profound his lover for her was. Even Boomhoward is a freaking Texas Ranger. He had some heartache. But hes otherwise happy with his life. Bill on the other hand? Couldn't even open up a business and sell his family sauce to leave a legacy.
@@Ddanielgonzalez Hank's Back, season eight, episode 20. Hank: "Coach Sauers would just give you some of those go pills and you felt like you could take on the Dallas Cowboys" Bill: "Yeah, Coach's special vitamins really did the trick. I broke my leg going for a touchdown and didn't realize it for two days!". Boomhauer calls it horse crank.
This episode made me sad when Hank and Bill were on the field talking about how Bill wasn’t around during Graduation and Prom. How Bill said ‘Was there dancin?’ with tears in his eyes just destroyed me.
I know this shows how depression can bring you down but this shows me a depressed person that everyone can be the billdozer even the most depressed person including yourself. Long live the billdozer
It’s what makes Bill such a compelling character. His moments of high confidence are so memorable. Theres the scene where the boys are in a tank and gets pulled over, not only does he throw the cop’s questioning back at him, he gets the lady cop’s number and a date. Also the flashback where Bill saves Hank from getting his ass kicked in a bar and holds back like 4 dudes.
Bill really is Iron Man... he is someone with something to say but keeps to himself and or no one will listen. “They just turn their heads.” Iron Man took his anger from not being able to speak out on the world. Bill takes his anger from not being able to communicate out on himself and that self-hatred lead to unchecked depressive moments.
His visit to Louisiana…the weight lifting episode…his dalliance with the governor…preserving his football legacy…and above all; his pulling his friend Boomhaur out of his depression…we’re all fantastic Bill episodes that Stephen Root brought to life.
IT WAS 19 AND 74 AND WE WERE PLAYING THE WAHATCHEE COWBOYS. THE BALL WAS ON THE THREE-YARD LINE WITH FIVE SECONDS LEFT. WE NEEDED A TOUCHDOWN TO WIN AND THAT'S WHEN COACH CALLED FOR...THE BILLDOZER!
This scene made me play high school football and changed my life for the better I don't even watch the sport but I became a varsity athlete and it helped keep me in school
Spent his life sad and depressed instead of being a potential NFL superstar, Bill is the perfect example of making sure your mental health is treated well.
Oh poor bill he let his obsession of his Ex wife drag him down he forgot how much value and unlocked potential he had. Dudes a SGT he deserves some respect
You are not worthy of calling yourself Hank Hill, he would never look twice or even once for that matter at the stupid shit on your page... He would probably just kick your ass for defiling his name.
he had a few flings throughout the series but lenore cheated on him numerous times and just obliterated his self esteem and his dad was abusive alcoholic too but i don't want to get this in depth about a cartoon
Poor Bill. Peaked in high school and married Lenore, only to be betrayed by her. I know he brings on lots of his own misery on himself. However, I can’t help feeling bad for him sometimes.
@@BlueJDMMR2I'm not sure about that, high school has been lax on numbers longer than college/NFL I think. Plus, I'm sure even back in the '70s they had trick plays where a WR would take a snap and throw to the QB. For a HB to naturally take the role of Center is crazy though.
I was confuse on timeline here. In 1974 was the year they went to the State Championship game and i thought their Senior year. How did Bill have any eligibility left? Because I am pretty sure he even played in their State Championship game.
