Welcome to Birmingham, England, United Kingdom! It’s my first day here, and let me tell you, it’s a mixed bag. At first glance, the city definitely seems to need a bit of a clean-up-garbage is scattered everywhere. From a crime standpoint, this is the second most dangerous city in the UK. But don’t let that fool you! If you look a little closer, you’ll find some truly fascinating characters and hidden talent just waiting to be discovered. Join me as I explore this city, uncovering its gems beneath the surface and meeting some incredible people along the way.
With a crime rate of 137 crimes per 1,000 people in 2023, Birmingham's crime rate is high by any national standard. The second most dangerous city in the UK, behind Leeds, Birmingham's crime rate so far this year is 57% higher than the national average of 85 crimes per 1,000 people. (As of 30 Aug 2024)
