Welcome to Chapter 1 of CHOSEN. Chapter 2 releases July 3.
To appreciate the Cleveland Cavaliers' incredible 2016 NBA Finals comeback, we need to rewind ... to the beginning. Let's examine how a fun expansion team from the 1970s met its doom at the hands of one of the most absurd, reckless owners in sports history.
Directed by Jiazhen Zhang
Written and produced by Seth Rosenthal
Art direction by Michael Das and Phil Pasternak

@@jameslearing970 You can also trade pick swaps, as long as you keep at least one first-rounder. The Nets/Celtics trade worked that way (see 2017, when Boston got the 1st pick, traded it to Philadelphia, turned it into Jayson Tatum with the 3rd pick, and Brooklyn ended up with Kyle Kuzma at 27.) There's also nothing stopping you trading a player you just drafted on draft night even if trading the pick slot before the draft would've violated the rule. Kuzma would've been an example, but since Brooklyn got the 22nd pick (who turned into Jarrett Allen) as a lottery-protected from the Wizards earlier in 2017 (which they ended up using when the Wiz made the '17 playoffs), the rule didn't apply there. NBA trades are weird.

Whenever I've heard about how the Lakers ended up with the #1 pick (and James Worthy) right after winning the title, I've always heard it was Stepien. Learned something new today. Love the video, can't wait for the rest of the series and keep up the good work.

I cried for sure. I had never seen a Cleveland championship 2016 was special. Honestly if it wasn’t for the Trevor Bauer drone incident I say the Indians would’ve won the World Series. Alas they hadn’t won a WS since early 1900s the baseball gods gifted them salvation.

He is definetly NOT the one to break the warriors. 🙄 He finally played as good as he was supposed to after being hurt or disappointing in almost all of his other series. He's still getting too much credit/faith for getting a chip as the sidekick to this day. His injuries and toxicity should make teams pass on him.

All I can say is wow, that “owner” was every bit delusional. There was no signs he actually wanted a winning team, he just wanted to say he owned a team lol
@mrmacross
@mrmacross 2 года назад
Liked. Every owner wants to brag about owning a team, and all of them want to win, but maybe only 1-2% are willing to win if they don't make a profit. The first team that comes to mind is the 2004 AZ Diamondbacks who lost 111 games after a dominant five-year run, just two seasons after winning 98 games and the division, and three after winning the World Series.

Which means you guys did an excellent job. It's one thing to make bad decisions you regret with the benefit of hindsight, but every single one of this guy's moves were horrible even on PAPER.
