You're most welcome, and thank YOU!! I agree that Lizzie over the course of the show has changed drastically and exhibits in my opinion regression rather than progression. Red, by contrast, remains devoted to her, and therefore in showing different layers of their relationship the question or quantifying the loss incurred is best accomplished I believe by calling attention to and focusing on his pain/despair. Dembe plays a significant part in the events as well, and I look forward to organizing more content based on this amazing trio of characters.

Most appreciated!! Thank you so much!! I miss the days where it was possible to be a fan and celebrate the individual aspects - characters, dynamics, relationships, etc. - without being vilified for doing so. I'd love to create more, and I fully intend to by the way. The question for me, however, is with regards to frequency. I'm already publishing less than I'd like to because of unnecessary drama within the fandom as a result of a lack of objectivity and respect coupled with others' propensity to steal rather than create their own content.

Thank you so much!! I still have my reservations with regards to Katarina, but even in the event that she's revealed to be the actual mother she was hardly sympathetic. Again, it's the same pattern where Lizzie extends trust to people she knows for all of five minutes and subsequently reneges on prior statements she's made, cementing her own self-destruction. If Red nearly being killed wasn't enough of a justification, losing Dom was the last straw. Why is that so unclear? Equally concerning is why Dembe didn't simply shoot out the tires and keep Lizzie from reaching the scene of the "crime". I love Dembe getting a chance to speak and deliver lines in a similar degree to my affection for Red, but the better question to ask is the following: Was Lizzie being present meant to change the outcome? Red being the speaker of the above line. So long as Red and Dembe are aligned and stand together against whatever comes, also a reflection of how much I enjoy watching James and Hisham on-screen, I plan to watch the show for the duration. But Lizzie, at this juncture, is expendable in my opinion. Her needing to avenge Katarina is horrible enough without factoring in another example of her betraying the trust of her colleagues, Red most of all, and by extension everyone else being dumbed down in the process of propping her up. Her being the smartest person in the room isn't working for me.

Completely understand. I can’t imagine or begin to make sense of why the writers would destroy the relationship that’s designed or intended to function as its core. So long as James and Hisham remain part of the show coupled with nothing coming between Red & Dembe again, I plan to watch.

@@nikkixsensei I'm glad you've gotten past it, but I stopped watching halfway through 5, but still am up to date on what's happened thus far. For me, Red and Liz's father-daughter relationship was the show. It was at it's best in season 3 episodes 1-10 and season 5 episodes 1-8. But the writers just kept having the idea that creating turmoil between them would make the show exciting, but all it did was make horrible. Biggest example is season 3. After 10 glorious episodes of Red and Liz bonding, ending with her giving him a grateful hug for everything he did for her, 2 episodes later she out of no where is afraid of him again with no transition at all. And then it became so inconsistent from one episode having her say she'll never forgive him to immediate next one having her want Red to be at her wedding. The writers need to make up their mind on where they want these two and stay there.

It's one thing to 'level criticism', as you put it. It's quite another, however, to insinuate that I lack education or understanding of either the show which I've followed from the pilot or characters/relationship in question. Contrary to your assessment, none of the material featured as part of this video was selected and then incorporated at random. Conversations/dialogue and scene parallels (established first through the actors' performances and second through cinematography) together establish connectivity. Illustrating the ebbs and flows of Red and Lizzie's journey, a quality that the song "Way Down We Go" itself speaks to by the way, is the central point. As we've seen time and time again over the course of the show, they break apart and after a varying period of time find their way back to one another. Producers and cast alike have elaborated on the subject similarly. Because of Lizzie being presented to us with astounding inconsistency and character regression rather than progression, my examination or study of the events tends to be more from Red's prism as his is both more refined and therefore more relatable. His underlying motivation and actions in that regard remain constant whereas her stance vacillates by comparison. As a result, Dembe deserves and in my opinion factors into the conversation or any examination of their relationship because he knows Red best. Therefore, who is more qualified to weigh in than him? In short, no one. Incorporating his perspective allows for a more complete visual because he is intimately informed of the mitigating circumstances and represents a source of wisdom, a guide, and support system for Red. I'll venture to guess that you aren't a Red and Lizzie fan... ? Whether you are or not really doesn't matter to me because my preference doesn't reflect a debate or discussion of merits, the topic of which being how familiar with the landscape you are or perhaps are not. Simply put, these are characters that I enjoy and actors whose work as well as respective interpretations of the characters at hand I appreciate. In regards to my editing style, I change things up to keep the process interesting for me - there's also the tempo of the song which shifts from gradual to rapid throughout to keep in mind. While there are always new techniques to experiment with, I feel comfortable enough with the medium to be flexible and exercise an original flair while also keeping in line and remaining faithful to the source content. There are firsts in every arena, but to say that watching a video induces physical discomfort is a bit of a stretch - if not extreme and/or ludicrous. Don't you think??? In either case, I make no apologies and have no regrets about the time and degree of thought that went into organization procedures.

I haven't missed seeing Lizzie in recent episodes which is frankly an upsetting admission to make because comprising the center of the show, or designed initially as such, is the relationship between her and Red. Likewise, I don't see either a path forward which leads to a place of good or redemption.
