@@DrZainMD I don't think that will happen. They generally use microcontrollers with no rewriteable EPROM. They do not need more advanced circuitry since this is extremely basic. I hope the next version improves.
I like the estetics of this unit. Makes it cool to measure. The application thing is not a problem and something im used to. And with my brain that rember numbers easy 2 minutes is a long time. Even without looking at the app i will remember the readings from the morning at bedtime. Looking for a new unit because I need to track my readings more. Got an unpleasant bump up in pressure the last 2 weeks. I can highly recommend running to decrease the blood pressure. I had 149/84 this morning and after running 123/77. And it will last many hours. I used to road bike but the weather has been very bad. Had to go back to running which is 6 years ago.
Glad to see you're able to use exercise as a form of treatment for high blood pressure. Not only do you get the blood pressure benefits, but so many other health benefits too!
I bought this cuff, and thought it was brilliantly designed. That feeling lasted until the cuff persisted in stating that my clothing was interfering with the reading. This "error" was indicated on EVERY READING, and despite the fact that I was seated--shirtless--at my desk. Mine is for sale cheap if anybody wants it.
Also big plus for me. I hate all those devices with built in batteries that become useless as battery degrades. I'm not planning to use it often and I don't have to worry about battery losing charge and breakin when not used for months,
Very nice review, one question tough.. is there an option in the app to program the device tot take your blood pressure automatically at a certain time interval? For example once every hour over one night? Thanks!
I just got this and it works awesome!! The cuff is so amazingly easy to put on, and it works with the Samsung health app! I haven't even downloaded the Omron app because I track all of my health stuff with the Samsung app! Galaxy S23+. I've heard that the Omron app can be pretty buggy which is why I chose to not use it. Great video!
Thanks a lot! I really appreciate you watching and giving your comments. I'm glad that it's easy for you to use. Nothing more frustrating than buggy software
built in batteries are lithium too. so they will expire, and when that happens, the entire machine goes bust. This is actually much more sustainable. Because you can always buy rechargeable AA battery
This BP monitor does not work correctly. Just said I was 141/91. Checked with a regular monitor from Omron and it was 120/78. This is the second Evolv I have tried. Completely inaccurate.
@@KoalaBeer. , The stiff cuff I used was for a regular, two piece machine, but I bought it, could not get the stiff cuff on in the right place, returned it. I bought a Large cuff for a LifeSource/ A&D two piece machine from Walmart. It worked ok, but wound up sticking with the regular size.
@@bigred9428 I have the old two piece cuff. I think they call it easyfit. It's the stiff kind. I like it. I am thinking of getting this one. Is it worse than older stiff cuff?
@@lasalsera-x8d , I don't have this machine, but I've tried using a stiff cuff twice now and returned them. They were like the soft velcro ones, only the part that goes on your arm is stiff (like what's shown here). They would not open enough to get on my arm, and kept snapping closed. I just couldn't get them onto my arm using only one hand. I think maybe your old one is better, but you still might not have a problem with the new one. After all, he liked it.
Great question! Yes it does both - it makes graphs and calculates the average BP for you, which definitely helps when you share the results with your doctor. I should have mentioned that in the video!
My doctor recommended not to get the kind the device is on the cuff because it's not accurate. Not sure why she said that. But this device should be accurate, right?
Had many issues with one of these. The cuff is rigid and difficult to get tight. Constantly gave me error codes. Got error code 4 saying I moved during reading but I was perfectly still sat at a table. Also gave totally inaccurate readings compared to my Omron BP monitor with cuff. Its a good concept but needs a lot of work.
I'm looking for something I can wear 24/7 . I would prefer something more continuous, where it can warn me when my BP starts to rise. If anyone has an idea about that please let me know.
Is it still made in japan? Or did they change it to made in china like most corporate companies do to make more profits and money gains unfortunately, im curious if they’re still made in japan, since japan is #1 leading electronics technologies research and quality…
Personally I like the Withings BPM connect, but it has its flaws too. There aren’t a lot on ValidateBP.org so I’d probably say the one that fits your budget but is also validated. At the end of the day, if it’s accurate and you use it like your doctor recommends, that’s what matters the most
@@DrZainMDI was interested in that one, but most reviews I came across was pretty negative on its accuracy. I like the design, but the results are what matter
Hey guys and doctor zain, i was planning to buy "WITHINGS BPM CONNECT" i would like to know will that be good for my family❤. Please awaiting for your advise or else suggest me anything better where money is not an issue considering health. Health is wealth❤❤ Thanks doctor and frnds..
NO. removable batteries are the RIGHT TO REPAIR correct solution. So this Evolv is smart and consumer friendly. NO USB port, NO built-in battery please update your thinking. Stop thinking like Apple fan.
I don't think so. But you've got a great point - knowing our BP at night is pretty important, too. Hopefully it'll soon be mainstream to have devices that can do all of that
