I'm a freshman in marching and this just makes me wanna continue to work on my marching!! Edit: Andddd here I am a year later to update!!! My band director said I was a great player for my age and a good marcher, so he made me section leader and I’m sophomore representative!! This year was a bit rocky, but we eventually got through it and exceeded our expectations! Hi guys! I’m back! It’s junior year and I’m junior representative as well as a drill instructor this year!! I get to yell drills at the top of my lungs at the 9th graders now lolol I’m so excited for this year and our marching show is called Firebird (which a lot of you should be familiar with) our stand tunes are fun too!! I look forward to this years marching season🥳🥳🥳 oh and we got new uniforms this year 🤩🤩🤩they look amazing!!! Sooo question 🙋🏾‍♀️ does anyone know the basics of euphonium ?🥲🥲 UPDATE AGAIN: I MADE IT TO HEAD DRUM MAJOR AND WE JUST GOT OUR MARCHING SHOW IM SO EXCITED NEXT YEAR(senior) WILL BE EVEN MORE FUN!!! And I made the TOP choir at my school I’m excited 😭✨✨ Update: so after a little negotiating with my directors they all agreed for me to compose a piece combining band, orchestra, and choir! So far I’m 40 measures in! I’m very new to composing, but I need help with transition from like a melodic angelic sound to a dark mysterious sound. I’m not really sure on how to do it I have to do more research 🧐 I totally forgot to update this lol 😂 I just finished my first year in college lol and music theory/sight singing are KILLING me but I love it so much!! Yall might be a little disappointed, but I decided to work with the string side of music education 😭 a lot has happened since the last update and it’s been a roller coaster but I’m doing really good with the cello and my professors are amazing!!

I cry every time i watch this show. This truly is a statement to the progress of marching band. This show is amazing and full of energy and emotions. This makes me love the Blue Devils even more!!

This makes me miss marching so much, such great times. Even the shitty days are memorable. My favorite memories are when it started to rain and the brass, winds and color gaurd would freak out while us (the drumline) got hyped

I'm a Crown fan at heart, but Blue Devils had a damn good show this year. I really enjoyed the music and how it was put together. Excellent job Blue Devils! Can't wait to see DCI return next year!

Years from now I’m going to look back at this show and remember it being extremely underrated. Its great all the way through! The opener is extremely powerful and demanding, the ballad is heartwarming, and the closer gives off a euphoric or reminiscent type feeling 🙌🏻 #19in19

I never cease to be held spellbound by these shows. From show concept to final performance, the unfathomable amount of time, energy, effort, and talents that make these productions blossom into fruition is mind-boggling. Bravissimo to all! And Brandon doesn't seem to have changed much from his early videos...except for the whiskers...

rewatching every BD vids and it made me realize that they will be the happiest people that could ever live knowing that they've made a spectacular music and show. BD are my dream band to watch, I love you BLUE DEVILS!!!

Excellent video to showcase what I feel is the perfect show. And this displaces cabaret Voltaire as my favorite blue devils show ever. Brilliant. Just as SCV set a new standard in 2018 this show does the same in 2019. I ask every year can they possibly get any better and every year I’m blown away by the artistry and talent of all the corps. What a wonderful activity we have to enjoy.

There are songs, and there are bands, and then there are listening to bands in person, and then there are DCI bands. Out of all the songs on my playlist, those that are played by DCI bands make me consistently smile. The professional marching bands always sound so amazing and are just so good at what they do. For example: this show has so much story and emotion, that every part of you feels. While the last song is ending, you can feel the satisfaction in everyone. They are giving all they have to make it a great ending! Not many songs or bands have this, but when they do, they are amazing. Thank you for reading my mini essay.

When flomarching was live streaming your semi finals, and it cut out for like a second, everyone, and I mean everyone, in my band started screaming. (We were watching the livestream to finish off our bandcamp)

Man, watching this from the field perspective really brings me back to my marching days. When you're on that field, there is nothing that can take you off beat. There's absolutely nothing like it.

7th grade year discovered the blue devils 2017 show, became a front ensemble player fell in love with dci in general, 8th grade year became obsessed with drumlline, have crazy chops for my age, found this show learned the break, cried when I heard some of the brass hits, and now freshman year im center snare for my highschool drumline trying out for dci soon keeping y'all posted
