Sarah, just to let you know that we have another singing road here in the Antelope Valley. After actor and local resident R. Lee Ermey sadly pass 6 years ago, the city of Palmdale honored him by renaming a portion of west Avenue N "R. Lee Ermey Avenue". They also made a portion of this avenue a singing road. It plays the Marine Corps Hymn in his honor, since Lee was a Marine and Vietnam veteran.

The first musical road in USA was built in Lancaster. It’s now West Avenue G, after being moved from original location. Plays William Tell Overture, Lone Ranger theme. Created for a 2008 Honda Civic commercial. Fun to drive on as I did a few years ago.

I lived in New Mexico for about 20 years,The Blue Hole is one of my very favorite places on earth. My Father's Day gift every year used to be to go swimming at The Blue Hole in Santa Rosa,NM. Lay up on the rocks and get HOT,then jump into that nice cold, blue water. Nothing better! I love The Land of Enchantment aka "Home of the Plague,Land of the Flea". Thanks for the memories,Wonderhussy!

Husband speaking age 81 reminds me of my trip out of Ariz. on my way home from the Air Force, 1967 age 24. I stoped at one of those little gotcha stands. There was a very old Indian sitting on the ground doing a very beautiful sand painting. I asked the clerk behind the counter if I could take a picture, leave a tip in the bowl, dropped my buck, took one picture out of my 12 picture roll and was on my way.

Sarah, thanks for a trip down memory lane. My dad was born in a coal mining town in northeastern New Mexico over a hundred years ago. I have fond memories of summer road trips from California back to Texas along old Route 66. We would attend family reunions and rodeos around the Texas Panhandle back in the 50's and 60's. We also had family and friends to visit in Arizona and New Mexico along the way. I sometimes think that most of us who live here take the southwestern U.S.A. for granted. It's amazing to see the reaction from tourists from Europe or the U.K. seeing this part of our country for the very first time. Have you ever met Elley from the "Elley Knows Rocks" RU-vid channel? It would be great to see you guys plan a rockhounding trip and do an episode together. I think that you would hit it off great.

@@bradyanspaugh4531 Yes! Over 30 years ago, after my father had passed away, I was flying on a business trip and was sitting next to a lady from Albuquerque. We started talking. I mentioned that father was born in a mining town in New Mexico that no longer exists. She asked me if the town was Dawson, because she was the last baby born at the Dawson hospital before it was closed in the early '50's. I said yes and that my dad's family moved there from Arkansas in 1907 and moved to Trinidad, CO in 1929, because my grandfather worked for the railroad. She asked me if any of my family had ever attended any of the Dawson reunions over the past years. She gave me the name of a person to contact in Cimarron and I attended in 1990. I am planning on going this year.

I would take a picture out of my old 12 shot roll and then find a post card of the same historical object and put both in my album which is now a historical object because todays generation do not know what a photo album is or was. All their pictures are some where up in the clouds that are seldom ever looked at again. ( just ask my son )

Have to tell you about one of MY favorite places in New Mexico …. You should see the “Gila Wilderness Area” in southern part ….. extending into Arizona… I read about a hot spring on the western part…. Beautiful area, and deceptive as it seems hidden by the desert around it, then you drop into the “Wilderness”, full of giant trees, and the spring fed “Gila River”…. AND, there are Cliff dwellings !!

Lots to eat also did you try the New Mexican food, home of the REAL chile pod, New Mexico Green/Red chile! Such good suff all those other type of food outside the state are cheap imitations! In the fall 2022, my husband and I did a road trip through 7 different states, hiking, visiting friends, family and other random things. The Blue Hole was on our list, but we got there too late and had to be in Albuquerque the next morning. We could only find one restaurant for dinner in Santa Rosa, NM that wasn’t a drive thru. It was cute and had an art gift shop but the food was bordering on bad. I wish we could have gone. It looks really fun!

I could hear it, and yes it was very cool. I totally agree with you on the I-40 thing, there is really isn't much in the way of anything except bushes, between Flag and the Grand Canyon, unless you go east a little bit. You got Sunset Crater, Snowbowl, Wupatki, there's a lava field, I believe Meteor Crater is close to I-40 I think. So AZ does have some interesting points unfortunately it's all east. How a SENOTE is formed, the underground chamber is full of water, usually from an underground river or aquafer, eroding the limestone, over time as the water goes down there is nothing supporting the limestone basically and the roof collapses, leaving a hole, over time the rains fill the hole with water. If I miss my guess Montezuma Well is a SENOTE'. Your videos are always cool Sarah
