I'm an Appalachian State graduate. Boone, Blowing Rock, and the whole High Country of North Carolina are my happy place. I love it that you went there.
Robert You are amazing. You show us the incredible beauty of the creation God has given us. This is now a must see for us. May God Bless You, Your Mom and Illy. You are a Blessing to all of us.
Hello Traveling Robert😊😊🎸🎸🎵🎵🍔🍔, this was an OUTSTANDING video. I too have drivin sections of the Blue Ridge Parkway and it's SPECTACULAR. Looking forward to Footage of beautiful Harper's Ferry, it's a place I've been to several times. GREAT video👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍.
Harper's ferry is a quaint little place located in a very interesting spot.. And very historic. I heard there's a good restaurant there heaven something or something heaven... And a decent coffee shop... Both on the hill of the old Main Street. And that Blue Ridge Parkway in the Virginia Skyline are the windiest high roads you'll ever be on.... You're pretty much going 40 miles an hour or less with your trailer the whole way. But I'm sure by the time you read this you already knew that and loved it
Oh my god do I love the blue ridge parkway. I go up every November after the crowds have gone and just in enjoy the mountains. Also, Maggie Valley is surprisingly beautiful that time of year.
Another nice video of North Carolina. I've been to most places mentioned. I agree the views from The Blowing Rock are worth the admission. You can spot the Grandfather Mountain swinging bridge from there. You missed stopping in the town center of Blowing Rock. Nice restaurants, breweries and touristy gift shops. Boone is known for Mast General Store, Appalachian State University and other attractions. I hope to tour the entire Blue Ridge Parkway in one long visit as I've been on most of it in sections.
Brave man towing that trailer on the Blue Ridge. I was once routed through a 11 foot tunnel in Chatanooga towing my 9'10" RPod trying to avoild a traffic jam on I24, it was pretty harrowing even though I knew I had a foot to spare. Gorgeous camera work as always.
Loved your video today, I’m a huge fan of This area ,especially Blowing Rock ,blue ridge . It’s at least 10 degrees cooler up there than down at the foot of the mountain in July ,a perfect place Get through the miserable “dog days of summer.” Sorry you had such yukkie weather and couldn’t see off to well. It’s a fun town to walk around in and ,great restaurants, . Congratulations on your new tow vehicle, safe travels ,
Very cool vlog Robert! I lived in Charlotte for 14 years before moving back to Florida and loved going into the mountains, especially Lake Lure and the Apple Fest in Hendresonville. Safe travels brother!
Another Sunday, another virtual ride-along with Robert! I love that whole area--The Smokies, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Shenandoah, Natural Bridge--so many great places to see and things to do. The last time I was there I missed out on Grandfather Mountain because it was so cloudy you couldn't see a thing. When I was in Boone it snowed and I ended up at the original Mast General Store and warmed up by the stove. Looking forward to checking out Harpers Ferry next week...happy trails!
Beautiful sceneries , From afar its breath taking, Hike those mountains and you will quickly realize how dangerous those wilds can be. Nice shots Robert
I've never felt the mountains were dangerous. I grew up on Peters Mountain in VA. If you're worried about animals I was always so loud in the woods I never really seen any. They don't stick around. Even the black bear.
Gooood morning!! Really enjoying this, I have great memories from my childhood of traveling the skyline drive. Hope you guys continue to be safe & well & that all your travels are happy ones! ✌ 💘 🍺 🏕
Big fan of the ancestral Appalachian and all it’s history. We visited the area and fell in love with the vibes. We could easily spend all our lives in one of those cabins mountain front. Thanks for show us Little Switzerland!
Such a gorgeous venture!! Our eastern mountains are soooo beautiful!! How I would love to travel the roads and see the scenes as you do!! Thank you for taking me with you!! I just love Traveling with you, Robert!!! When you sip that next IPA take a sip for me bcuz I am right there with you! 😊
I live near Harper's Ferry. I'm looking forward to seeing what you enjoyed in my neck of the woods. We also just did a southern mountains to coast loop and traveled Shenandoah Nat'l Park to the Blueridge Parkway. I only have 3 youtube videos- but that loop is my last video if you feel like comparing. We were in a lot of the same places. A beautiful trip!
Thanks, Robert. This is on our bucket list. Tried to do some of it in April and it was snowing. Decided to just go to FL as the mountain roads were icy. Beautiful video!
Robert, we also really loved our time on the NC side of the Smokies! We were able to drive a small section of the BRP over there, it was absolutely beautiful!! We were there a couple weeks after your visit that way. Wonderful video, as always.
The views are spectacular 👌, those $9 well worth the investment...they keep gardens very nice and clean...love the eagle close up too...Blue Ridge Park is awesome!
Beautiful video...... I love The Blue Ridge......I the like The Appalachian Mountains range. Good job...... Congrats......and go ahead..... Love MOM ...>>>
I'm doing pretty much the whole thing Friday. I'm getting on in Ashville NC and off in Roanoke, VA. You're pretty much out of the mountains in Roanoke anyway.
See Robert this is again a great piece of advice. That Google maps situation, and recommending all RV'ers use a RV specific app, is great viewing for people who may want to, or those who are new to RVing. This really is a beautiful region of your lovely nation.
Cool video. I remember that sliding glass display at the Asheville Bluegrass Parkway center. Maybe it was taken down because of too much rough play by kids, like in a lot of museums where interactive stuff eventually breaks because of 5 year-olds smashing the buttons to make something work.
Hi Robert, I also wan touring the Blue Ridge Parkway on my Honda Goldwing in may, to bad we did't see each other, it would of been a highlight for me, oh well maybe someday, Happy Trails Amigo!
Super nice video, love the birds singing near the beginning! Also love any time there are maps, it’s very helpful for those of us who are unfamiliar with any particular area. Great comments from those who know the area well, I truly appreciate the knowledge folks who have been and can relate to the experience. Very helpful, I enjoyed it. Not concerned with the pixilation, as the imperfections are what make your videos so endearing. Keep it real, man.. good job!😉
I could tell you were in the area of Mt. Mitchell simply because the leaves had yet to come out up there, while they were already in mid-spring form down in Asheville....it's such a beautiful place.
Hi Robert. My wife and I almost drove the entire Blueridge Parkway back in 2019 (we missed the last 35 miles). I caught the most amazing "God Rays” photo just leaving Shenadoah National Park. The place is amazing. There’s some great "camera candy” at Mabry Mill. Great video.
Loved today’s video. I’ve been to most of the places in the video. I like Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Cherokee and Grandfather Mtn. etc. I live outside of Lexington Va. you passed my exit on I81.
Hi! Yes BR is our happy place as well - did you get to the town? It is really a beautiful town with lots of good restaurants!! Thanks for sharing your drive along the BRP with us!! Stay safe!
We go to Julien Price campground a couple of times a year. Next time you are in the area try Blowing Rock Brewery, they have a respectable IPA and a fantastic fried chicken sandwich.
Robert you are an inspiration. You do things at your pace and not afraid to share lessons learned, traveling experiences, and the trials and tribulations that go with this lifestyle, thank you.
We took a work vacay, before RV, and drove the whole thing. Challenging to plan that out to fit in your time off with all the twists and turns and never having been there. It was fall. We stayed in Boone too. Hope you can still make those tight turn arounds with the new truck.
I couldn't tell but it looks like just after you left little Switzerland that Switzerland that maybe you went down the hill to Marion to restock or something? I am not sure but the 4 lane road looked familiar that ends up going backup towards the Blue Ridge.... I like the Marion area... A few years ago I was looking to try to buy some land there but couldn't find any that I could grow gardens on??? Next time you travel through Marion area, there's a little campsite just down the mountain as you're just before you enter Marion... Or just as you are leaving Marion , to head up towards Little Switzerland or mount Mitchell. Nearby is everything from Lowe's to restaurants to McDonald's to home depot... Everything except for a cabela's or bass pro , it's along the Catawba River... it's a nice little site to stay at... I have done tent camping there 2 or 3 times. That river leads into lake James which is probably the nicest cleaners lake in North Carolina.. No murky waters to the East and has a beautiful municipal beach on the North side.
I am right around the corner of the Blue Ridge Parkway on the Virgina side... (Robert & Sue have a lovely place in Waynesville, North Carolina.) ...$44.00 dollars a night!... (I would have just parked on the side of the road.) ...Fun traveling with you Robert! :)
My place to visit every summer. One of the stops I make this time of year is Glassmine Falls One of the pull outs near Mount Mitchell. The waterfall only exists when it is wet and rainy weather. During the summer it dries up.
Gooood morning! Captains hideaway is selling! Say hi to average campers! ( I still want 🐔) I see tin can is upstate...I'm trying to get there! Love this! Harpers ferry was bucket list for me .now Natchez Fly eagle fly! I usually wait till after church! Which I often do livestream too! We're back to masks!
were u travling at now roger? keep doing them good movies bra, we ususally watch them later on while we eating a supper after aunt may and cindi come down from th church. like the videos roger. keep thems coming bra!
My friend had us go near Ashville to a motorcycle museum. Maybe someone watching knows the name. It's a must see! Drove all through the Blue Ridge Mts.
Robert: This is one of your BEST. So lovely and the drive was terrific. The scenery was magnificent. I truly enjoyed the trip. You were so gracious and your temperament is terrific. By the way, what is the name of the solo? Also didn't mention why the cross was erected? Other than that a wonderful espoide. Thank you. Robert. Wonderful, it made my day.
Good morning, we made the mistake one winter by travelling the Blue Ridge Parkway in the middle of winter. Someone open the gate . We ended up on Mt Mitchell with ice and snow. 🥵 🥶 what an experience.
