The Boat Chute POV LIGHTS ON At Lake Winnie 

I rode this ride in 1955 when I was 5 years old. I am now 71 years old and can still remember this ride vividly. Back then the tunnel was very short, or as far as my memory recalls and there were many cracks and holes in the walls where the light shown thru. Maybe it was a more prudent time and a short kiss was deemed more appropriate. Of course at my age the water drop was the real attraction and did it not disappoint, after all I still remeber the experience after 65 years!

Watching your lake winnie videos brings back so many childhood memories of this place i was scared of the boat chute!

Was it really dark so that it could give teenagers a place to makeout in the good ol' days

This ride is original and was built in early 1900s so I think the fact you can still experience this is amazing;by the way I use to ride this over and over love it !

I'll always remember this ride as a kid when it had an old looking creepy wood tunnel with holes and splits in the ceiling and walls with an occasional spider web to freak out through.:)

Every-time we are in the tunnel part of this ride we hit the boat in-front of us (LOL). This ride is definetley a family favorite.

I remember going on this ride when I was younger and the tunnel was so pitch dark that you couldn’t see anything

when i rode this ride, the ride broke down in the tunnel and my boat started sinking. we were on a chorus trip and started singing songs. i cried because i’m afraid of the dark and i thought i was gonna die. we had to walk out through one of the exits, though. we were stuck for about 45 minutes. good times.

Lol. I am always very unnerved by the long dark tunnel. I'm my mind there are SPIDERS everywhere!! Nice to know it is not arachnophobia in there!

Seems like as a kid in the 80's the big long dark tunnel was up much higher and the hill that took you up to the drop was at the beginning. Did the ride change to what we see in this video?

Me and my sister plus my friend we all sat there in different rows and they just let us sit in the same boat and keep riding it they said we were their favorite customers
