It’s cool seeing someone embrace a strange gimmick and not care what people think. Goldust is the best example I’ve seen of that. He was hilarious when he was still androgynous as Vince called it. The character wouldn’t work like that today but it was great back then.

False, A gimmick like GoldDust would 100% sale today. Theres a growing community of Queer/Trans fans of wrestling. Im neither but have tons of friends iv made over the years in wredtling groups/communities. Seth Rollins isn't open about his sexuality but alot of his style now is loosely inspired ny alot of 80s/90s bi-wear and is super popular in the queer community.

@@ElSombraRegio7 How would that sell tickets? The queer community is going to get behind a straight man acting gay to sell his gimmick? Even if they did get behind it, Goldust was good because he was a heel and people booed him and threw stuff. He got a huge reaction and it was comical. The acceptance of a group of people by society takes away from the shock value of portraying that group. That’s why sacha baron combs said that his Bruno character worked so well in Arkansas. He said over seas gays aren’t really a big deal.

@@jackirangatamariki2669 kayfabe is like how a wrestler carries him or herself, outside of the ring it's them staying in character on and off tv screens. Like in the 90' the undertaker didn't do a lot lot of press he didn't talk a whole lot, always wore black. That was him keeping his tv image going off screen wo people would think he actually is a mysterious kind of guy.
