I cannot thank you enough for putting this class together for anyone who wants to learn more about the Book of Mormon. I think a "serious study "of the Book of Mormon will need to be tried several times in each of our lives for it to truly take root and flourish.

Forget history, anthropology, archeology, and all Science ... just switch your brain off and pray for an answer 😊 Any manifestation you receive from the spirit is considerably more powerful than any amount of hard, tangible evidence or facts ... listen to the Spirit and don't worry about the throngs of naysayers 😊

I’m adding something new to my life this year. I’m going to read several verses of the Book of Mormon prior to saying my prayers and going to bed. I’m going to invite the Holy Spirit to effect my dreams. I assume that Satan can’t be there and worldly distraction will be gone. I’m going to sleep unto the Lord. 7-8 hours I’ll make myself available to the spirit. I will have a pen and paper ready for when I wake up. “The young shall see visions and old men shall dream dreams.” “We receive not because we ask not.” Excited to try this experiment with the spirit.

As an answer to prayer, I too thought of the quote by President Benson. I know there is great power in the Book of Mormon. I also remembered President Hinkley saying, "every time I read the Book of Mormon I learn something new". While scrolling down looking for whom I felt I needed for studying this year, I saw your name. Going to BYU education week for so many years I reconized your name and knew another prayer had been answered. So excited to dive deeper in my study and learning more about my best friend Jesus Christ. Thank you.

I am super excited to (Re) study the Book of Mormon. This is the only book on this planet that has not only changed my heart, but has changed my entire life. Read, Ponder and Pray is a major understatement. Following that pattern shows Heavenly Father that you are willing to follow Him and keep His commandments. In turn, He will bless you beyond measure - of this I testify to be true.

Sure, I read and I highlight passages that stand out to me, but seriously, there is something to be had in just about every verse and in every chapter. This was great! Very helpful in preparing a Sunday school lesson. One thing I found interesting is that in addition to the 11 witnesses, Joseph Smith Jr's witness and testimony is on the next page. In total, there are 12 official witnesses of the Book of Mormon. Probably not a coincidence that there are 12. Kinda cool.

The artwork at 15:50 is inaccurate. The "interpreters" were probablby 6" between the center of the lenses and 8" in total length. They were meant to fit the ancient race of giants (Jaradites) and various sources call them "huge", "enormous", "far too large for the present race of men", etc. The lenses were likely white or grey stones. There is a good article in the Interpreter magazine which is fairly accurate if you need additional information from a church approved source..

Dear John, I'm loving the intro to the course.... But I am really distracted by the quote in the bookcase behind you... and can't wait for you to move your head so I can see what it says about the 'grass being greener '... I'm trying to guess what it is .. and its distracting me ... not to much though ! - the class is so great - I love to hear about the witnesses and how they all remained true to their testimonies... despite some falling away from the church at times.

Great video: please drop the stuff about tea and coffee and that a testimony of the book of mormon means you must also believe the church is led by a living prophet today. Those things are not productive to the conversation about the Book of Mormon being true.

OK, so the sister I minister gave me herbal tea. When my pancreas was inflamed, I took herbal tea because I also saw comments by other members on the internet. Corrections need, if any.
