The Bookcase is a friendly independent bookshop situated in the village of Lowdham, approximately 8 miles north of Nottingham, and is well known for its programme of author events. The arrival of Covid-19 in the spring of 2020 meant that live events had to be cancelled, and so we have been looking at other ways of keeping in touch with our lovely customers. We decided to produce a series of online interviews and talks, filmed at The Bookcase.
This, the second in the series, features Mike Wilson who is a writer and musician. He has written over 80 books for reluctant-reader teenagers and beginner-readers. In his talk he tells us the inside story of the men and women who have held the position of Poet Laureate - an interesting and often humorous history.
