Double H boots are for sure one of the best cowboy work boots you can get, in my opinion. American made in PA. I'm pretty sure Ryan is wearing the Dylan R-toe, which I wear daily.
As someone else pointed out, I saw a show about the series. The interviewer asks a producer what boots John Dutton wears. The producer said he has a couple of boots but that day on set, he was wearing Justin’s model of some sort. Justin used to make the “Yellowstone collection,” with the ranch logo embroidered on them. I don’t see them in the Justin’s catalog anylonger, but I’ve also heard in circles that they were like their current “bent rail” model boot, but now without the Yellowstone Ranch” logo on the current boots. On the picture in the video however, he doesn’t have the “Justin” name logo on the bottom of the sole, so those pair were obviously a different brand that day. Maybe Luccese brand. I would bet the farm that if Charlie Dunn were still alive, Costner would pay boo-koo bucks for those hand crafted, hand-fit-to-person boots and in the thou$and$. That’s what all the big celebrities who appreciated the absolute finest pair of western boots wore, until he retired and his apprentice Lee Miller took over the brand. But Lee retired now also and sold the business. Even though a pair of John Wayne’s Luccese’s are in the Smithsonian, Charlie Dunn boots from what they all say, made the most expensive Luccese boots look like a pair of deck shoes bought at Target! Charlie Dunn’s we’re the “Chanel league” of western boots. Prior to Charlie Dunn retiring, actor Harrison Ford reportedly was on a 3 year waiting list to get a custom pair. He also was on over a 1 year wait list to get the Lee Miller made boots. ….ahhh rich people. Today, I think the best boot made in production, not counting hand crafted custom handmade, hand fit to order boots, is Chisos. They are an awesome “mass produced” boot, probably the best. But you can only get them from the one and only store in Austin Texas. It’s on my bucket list because I can’t afford a custom boot over $600. The Rose Anvil channel (dude that cuts boots in half to evaluate the quality) did a review on Chisos and they hands down beat out the quality of the way more expensive “name” brand of Luccese. Also, If everybody remembers when on one episode when Rip is slamming “fake cowboys” who show up (as posers) in town, with their expensive Luccese boots and then he also slammed “Mule Days” (an annual town event, held in Bishop California.). Too funny!
I like your channel; your content is about things I sit and think about involving Yellowstone. The best show ever, I mean ever, to hit the television. Jeremiah Craig thinks John Dutton wears Justin 'The Shawnee' I tend to agree with him and let me tell you he is definitely a cowboy boot guy of the first order, give that one a watch where he talks about the boots in modern westerns. Lloyd's boots are Justins. His hat is an American hat co. John's boots have been Lucchese 1883 (currently bootmaker), along with other brands. The boot we see in season one with the cutter toe, full stitch welt, and stacked leather heel came from the lucchese 1883 line. Noone else had a boot like it when the show came out. The boot from season 1 is what justin replicated when it purchased the license to produce the yellowstone collection, but the boot itself in the show wasn't a justin. John is later seen wearing bull shoulder boots but I cant tell who the manufacturer of them was.
Kayces boot is a justin stampede atleast in some scenes. I recognize the tread pattern and while you cant make it out in the scenes here theres a scene where you can see the red justin symbol on the bottom.
There's a new website called shop the scenes. It has different wardrobe and apparel seen and used on the TV series Yellowstone. It actually says that Casey's boots are ariat heritage roughstock boots. However if you look at the picture they supplied the soul seems to be the same but the top stitch of the boot Does not seem to be on his boot. So if anyone can clarify would greatly be interested.
rip is wearing an ariat Tombstone model, in the scene where he crushes jamies phone at the river you can see the cross toe bug that is distinct to that boot. I would believe Kayce to wear an ariat sport square toe due to the higher heel and the lack of a saddle vamp like on the heritage roughstock. and as for John, I think its a Justin Shawnee based on some images and from watching a video by a guy named Jeremiah Craig about cowboy boots in TV shows. Finally, Ryan has a double H dylan based on the sole and toe.
