@@ryanfriesen4366 i’m not saying it’s wild they choked, I know they’ve been choke artists for ages, but it’s wild how they blew a 3-0 series lead and 3-0 lead in Game 7 it feels symbolic in a way
***** They have hit a rough patch. It wasn't long ago that the Penguins were tanking to get high draft picks for their rebuild. Look how that is working out. The Flyers will be back in contention within 3 years.
Why does Jack Edwards need to be objective on a local play by play broadcast? Why do so many NHL fans bitch about him? It would be another thing if he was a national broadcaster on NHL network or something. Bruins haters and Edwards haters need to calm their tits.
because even other broadcasts for local teams aren't as biased, im a leafs fan and even i believe the habs broadcasts aren't as bad. one play one of the bruins bats a puck out of mid air (probably above the crossbar so it'd likely be no goal either way) and edwards says "what ridiculous luck by the flyers!" like the goal would've counted anyways...
He is a play by play commentator for NESN (New England Sports Network). Boston is in the New England region and market. Good for the brand and local fans but sometimes not for the rest who may not understand or accept this.
+Starblade125 I oddly think he's one of the best announcers in the NHL when i just comes to calling the game. His passion is amazing to listen to and doesn't stop because the home team gives up a goal or loses like some local announcers do. It's when he starts getting off topic and babbling about delusional biased stuff that makes him awful.
It's incredible because the B's had them down 3 games to zero, and they had them down 3 goals in game 4! They also had them down 3 goals in game 7. Plus, the Flyers went through 3 goalie injuries in this series. It's the greatest come back series ever.
To be up 3-0 at HOME in game 7 & lose is sickening. If the Bs hadn’t come back the very next season & swept this same Flyers team in route to Winning the Stanley Cup the trauma would be a lot greater . But the nucleus of this Team has won cup & played in Two others so all n all it’s cool
@@mrlegendreal It's not salt though, the Bruins winning the cup the next season completely erased this from our memories. Every now and then I gey suggested this video and I'm like "oh yeah, completely forgot that happened".
I dislike the Flyers very much, but always loved watching Simon Gagne Coming back from the first lockout he was one of the best goal scorers in the show. He almost hit 50 in 2005-06 Then, later in his career he kind of just faded away.
@@ICF31 I believe you are thinking of Tampa Bay? I am a Sox fan but what a disgraceful way to end the season. In fairness they won the next year I think?
@@MajoraOra64 in 2011? They only put Bobrovsky in because Brian Boucher was absolutely pathetic in 2011. They could have put Patrick Roy in his prime in the net, they still weren't winning in 2011. That Bruins team was PISSED about what happened the year before and were out to make sure that the same thing had NO CHANCE IN HELL of happening again.
Y'all are jealous of how great he is... There is nothing wrong with Jack. He's a great guy in person as Im friends with him... If you are thinking he's biased, he is... It's because you are watching a new England broadcast channel... Go watch NBC if you want non biased... Oh wait, doc loves everyone but the bruins... He's such a dick
@@jateen67 Oh I agree 100%. I still don't like Jack Edwards and Jim Hughson is an absolute beauty. The best announcer in the history of hockey, or maybe even all sports.
I'll never forget this series. I remember my brother in law saying "down 3-0, you know it's over right?" Then they fought and fought all the way back and won. I felt for sure that momentum would carry them through the finals, but oh well, this series alone was a joy to watch.
I give Edwards a lot of credit here considering we know how easily he comes flying off the handle. Instead of being unprofessional in what had to be an incredibly frustrating experience to watch, he gave all the due credit to the Flyers for coming back, and at the end, he really came up with a great line articulating the pain Bruins fans had to feel about the toy spinning off the string and falling down a bottomless pit. Wow. That's deep. No pun intended.
There is no word in the English language to describe this kind of meltdown. The closest, is the German "Klausterfökken". Compound word, Klausterfökken, fökken, fökken.
Man.....that playoff run was so incredible and so much fun. Such a shame how it ended. I thought the flyers were destined to win. It was still a blast tho
Want some cruel irony? Before the Flyers’ comeback, the last team in any sport to win a series down 3-0 was.... the 2004 Boston Red Sox. It may have been a different sport and the pain still lives on, but us Yankee fans laughed our asses off when we saw a Boston team on the receiving end. No matter what sport, blowing a 3-0 lead is the worst feeling in the world.
And the Yankees have done Nothing since 2009. Red Sox have won 2 championships. And are since game 3 of the 04 ALCS are 8-1 against them in the playoffs
Take it from a philly fan, even when you win a championship losses like this will never go away. Example? When the phillies won the World Series Mitch williams, 2002 nfc championship 2004 stanley cup. Those losses still hurt.
@MikesWhispers Nah, I prefer Steve Goldstein's call. At least he was happy they moved on. Sadly, once the first round is over, the winning regional sports channels are laid off until fall.
lagoop he’s an announcer for NESN (New England sports network) and from the Boston area. Obviously he’s going to be more passionate for the bruins opposed to any other team
I love all these Bruins fans always preaching how classless other fanbases are for one reason or another, but are the biggest sore losers and litter their OWN ice with trash when they lose (no, this wasn't a one time thing). Irony is great sometimes.
+The Rock Music Channel no, Bruin fans are definitely known as the biggest suckholes in the NHL. When their team is winning the attitude is fuck everyone else, when they're losing the attitude is not fair and the league is against us. Bruin fans are immature idiots. Yes, I'm a Hawk fan and loved watching my boys win the cup in Boston in front of those loser fans!
Jack Edwards bawled his eyes out.....and the rest of the league smiled. I have never, ever actively rooted for the Flyers, but this was one instance where I came pretty close. It's always satisfying to see the Broons get kicked to the curb.
gotta love boston fans having to deal with thier own 3-0 playoff collapse, werent the bruins up 3-0 in game 7 too? worst playoff hockey collapse ever - NY Yankee fans
jbaz77777 jbaz what happened to bruins winning this year? LMAO 1 title in the last what 45 years for bruins...yankees wont win ever again?? they really are only this stupid in boston haha! weve been hearing the "the PATS WILL WIN NEXT YEAR!" for the past 10 years tooo!
Lethrneck, lol, you are such a dumbass. The only people that care about the feud between NY and Boston are people who live in those cities, yet you act like it's more important than anything else happening anywhere. Soccer and hockey are so much better than baseball. It's more exciting, more strategic, more intense, and requires a lot more athleticism. Half of the players in the mlb are unathletic fatasses. When the hardest part of your sport is the heat, then your sport is a pussy sport.
One of the darkest moments in Bruins history at the time, but I'm glad it happened in retrospect, motivated them to win cup very next year, sweeping Flyers out.
@@user-sg9sd7wx5c They were retiring regardless, doesn't matter if they lost in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th round. Or even won, they were all retiring anyway.
Not gonna lie, I’m one of the many Edwards haters, but if he called every game like this with excitement for both teams, I wouldn’t dislike him at all. This was surprisingly good
These playoffs were crazy in 2010, especially in the East. What looked to be a Penguins-Bruins Conference Final, (which would have been very interesting considering the Matt Cooke-Marc Savard incident from earlier that season), ended up being the Flyers against the Canadians. Crazy how things play out.
As a flyers fan I enjoy this memory but I def feel for the bruins fans this year. Just don’t forget you guys won the cup the very next year. So at least you’ve seen one in 50 years !
It was worth it bc the Bruins didn’t have the mental toughness to win. They got Nathan Horton called up Marchand, put Timmy Thomas in net. Swept this same Flyers team in the 2nd round and rest was history.
Up 3-0 in the series and lose 4-3. Up 3-0 in game 7 and lose 4-3. Being a Bruins fan must be tough. Especially considering that from 91-2019 they made the finals only 3 times.
I remember this series and remember how the season ended for the Flyers, no Stanley Cup. What happened the following season? The Bruins went up 3-0 on Flyers, and ...well....finished off the sweep. And did they go on to win the Cup? yes, yes they did. And as for the Flyers, it's 2015. The motto remains the same, "Choking Since 1975".
Um, excuse me? We've missed the playoffs 10 times. Out of the 47 seasons the flyers have been in the league, we've qualified for playoffs 37 times. We don't choke. We've made it to the cup finals 6 fucking times. We have 8 conference championships and 16 division championships. I don't think we "choke"
+Ian Garvin You've made it to the finals six times, and won twice (being the dirtiest team in the league, and everyone knows it), while your rivals have been to the finals four times, and won three. Just face it, your team is one of the biggest jokes in the NHL and has been for quite some time. Sure, you don't choke... but you still suck. Not much better.
Even as a Pens fan...this is awesome lol Briere also should have won Conn Smythe that year despite being on the losing team. He had a great playoffs and his finals was incredible. One of the best finals for a player ever.
this was easily the biggest choke. up 3-1 in the series, and finishing the regular season with 43 more points than the panthers, just to lose the series in 7.
Im no Flyers fan, Im actually a Devils fan, but as a Yankees fan it was so sweet to see Boston suffer heart break that I as a Yankee fan felt in 2004. Yes I am bitter, and yes I enjoyed watching Boston fans suffer especially that fucking clown Jack Edwards!
I'd say the Sox comeback was a little different. Hadn't won the world series in almost a century and beat their biggest rival the way they did..... And with Rivera on the mound..... That must have sucked 😀😁😂
