The Boston Celtics Just Took a MASSIVE RISK!

After a failed three-team trade with the Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Clippers that would've seen the Boston Celtics exchange their sixth man of the year winner in Malcolm Brogdon, for Latvian big man Kristaps Porzingis. The Celtics were forced to pivot and make a difficult decision. A decision that involved trading a former defensive player of the year and fan favorite Marcus Smart. It was a tough call to make by Celtics President of Basketball Operations, Brad Stevens. But given Porzingis' seamless fit with the Celtics' current roster, it seemed like a risk worth taking. However, I'm afraid that this trade could spiral into a domino effect of events...and Marcus Smart's departure was the first domino to fall.

the celts did not mismanage brogdons situation. it was known to everyone and was reported in the media that he was playing through a torn tendon during the series. the news of the torn tendon did not come out after the series and comparing it to ITs situation is disingenuous.

im a celtics fan and i just dont get it porz is a good player but we have centers we have 4s the celtics were much better running it back and working on there offence not being so 3 point focused or getting 3 point shooters to facilitate. getting another big when you already have bigs seems stupid.

You can’t keep running it back and getting the same results. A shakeup was coming and tbh was needed. Now you say they have centers and 4’s. Robert can’t stay healthy and horford is 37. He cannot and shouldn’t start anymore. If his 3 ball isn’t falling, he’s practically useless on the offensive. KP provides size at 7’3, length, he’s only 27, can space the floor and you can actually play him with Rob and deter opponents from the paint. Also KP gives you a POST threat which is what this team was missing badly. This is an outstanding trade and makes the Celtics much better. All Brad has to do now is either add a backup wing and/or a facilitator. Free agency isn’t even here yet. Just wait

@@kevj1587 it was mazullas first year and udokas first year they have barely been able to run it back because of the changing coaching. rob needs to get his shit together or get traded hes to young to be injured all the time and doesnt have the footwork al has the foot work but can play 48 and thats a coach issue not that i blame mazulla its his first year. but horford was really good against the mvp embid in the 76sers series. now the cs have less perimeter defense and a dpoy after him having one bad season.

Yeah, but you don't have any big man with the skill level of Porzingis. I'm a Knick fan who wanted him back in NY. Other than the fact that he gets injured, let's hope that he can stay healthy, and you will see just how good this young man is.
