In this video the whole gang get together and enjoy some landscape photography and hiking on the Isle of Mull. We first photograph some bluebells before taking on a hike of unknown distance as we debate whether it is an 8.25 mile round trip or one way.

Did that hike in 2007. Had a fabulous time, but lost my filter pouch (with filters) somewhere along the way. Two days later I'm telling this sad tale to my B&B hosts, and amazingly the people they hosted the previous night mentioned finding said filter pouch on the hike! They also mentioned where they were staying next, so I was able to find them and get my filters back.

Hello Thomas, I am never sure if you read my comments. Anyway, I follow about 60 vloggers now, who cover my favourite subject the Great Outdoors and my passion for Landscape Photography, which came from doing and completing 25 Long Distance Footpaths. So, I just wanted to say a big thank you, because you are my first to go to when I eagerly watch for your next vlog. Like you and many other vloggers, I learn from your thought processes and experiences, so when I go out and things go wrong! Well, I say to myself, that they can also go wrong for the experts. Which gives me the confidence in myself to carry-on! I still remember that fantastic day in the City of Belfast when I met you, your wife and your dog! And a van which at that time had not received its conversion. So on behalf of myself and others' thank you for what you do. And perhaps, one day, I shall get on a workshop with you...

Having the fly open is an old hiker trick, I do it all the time when I'm out and about on long distance or multi day hikes. The trick is to remember to put the fly up when you hit civilization again..!

I think you should have the same approach with the trees composition that you had with the sea weed one. If the big picture does not tickle your fancy search for the small one. A close focusing pic of a side-lit tree bark full of moss with the odd flower for color...letting everything else dissappear in an out-of-focus coloured blob.

It would be fun to get you four here to Alaska to shoot with. Kinda like an informal free form workshop. As you all have different perspectives on how you shoot landscapes, of which are very refreshing. The challenging thing here, is where to go ... as there are so many possibilities for locations to shoot at here in Alaska. Especially if one is willing to get away from the roads.

In all seriousness it does remind me of how you feel when you first get to delicate arch after all the hiking. It’s great and amazing and beautiful but besides just photographing the obvious there’s nothing else really there. Props for finding a neat little composition there. Looked like a good time either way!

That bit about hiking with your fly open, I don't think I've ever heard that before. Maybe he was just very fond of you, Thomas. As long as Gavin had his hiking flip-flops on, I'm sure he made it through the sketchy parts just fine. After all, he's as sure footed as a bloated mountain goat. :)

Thomas, I follow you for your inspirational photography and the knowledge of photography you share, a frequent message imparted that the way to improve my skills is to get out and shoot. It seems as of late that your collaboration videos with Nick and Gavin and Adam have devolved into a series of self-indulgent comedic skits that are designed to entertain rather than educate. I will now finally leave the world of RU-vid “influencers” to you and the guys…..and now get out there to shoot and build my skills. Thanks you for that! (Please pass this on to your cohorts….all of whom I still respect.)

Though you're British you obviously haven't heard of the Highland Mile - a distance that can be anything between just under a mile to 3 or more miles... (depending if there is something of real interest at the end of the hike.. Would have liked an attempt at the scenery round those basalt rocks seen in the background of your Spag-sans-Spag feast..
