@@thedoctor4327 i know! Homelander is supposed to he incorruptible and a pillar of the American way! No way is he a sanctimonious, motherless dog unworthy of love and compassion with all the ambition of a cockroach that gained sentience and omnipotence! I'd argue any sentiment that states he isn't the second coming!
Interesting that you forgot that in previous seasons he killed Doppelganger, Black Noir and Supersonic, and attempted to kill Soldier Boy and Maeve, as well as Starlight in some sense
@@user-pi5zj2gx4s interesting that obvious sarcasm went so far over your head you left that detailed of a comment even after I admitted to my sarcasm with a second comment 🤣 you aren't really bright huh? I was pointing out homelander's hypocrisy
I feel like before firecracker professed her devotion to homelander she didn’t really see what he was capable of. I feel like she is just another Ashley who is in over her head trying to be on his good side
@sedlyholmes3722 it's not just about killing. It's about who Homelander killed. She was very much info the supe supremacist bs. It's why she was so shocked at Homelander killing Weaver. They aren't supposed to kill their own. And she realizing if she fucks up or gets on his bad side he'd have zero issue doing it to her.
@@xCosmicMuffinManx falcon's realization is at the moment. Don't know if firecracker is smart enough to think beyond that and come to ur conclusion, that's the difference.
Notice the markings on his face. Firecracker beat him into admission so Homelander would think shes better than Sage. Then her freaked out reaction. If i remember correctly, Homelander has never directly killed someone in front of Firecracker before this. That was fear in her eyes.
@@papabloodharvest9542 she threatened starlight by having homelander laser her in half I don't think she's above killing supes who oppose them its just seeing him rip a supe apart like paper and without flinching clues her in on the worst the could happen if she fails
@@thedragon1363 Well that's true but to be fair I think it's just Starlight specifically that she doesn't mind killing because she already hated her because of Starlight calling her a fat slut during a Supe pageant when they were younger and apparently Starlight started a rumor that Firecracker was sleeping with the judges. So I can see why she would want Starlight dead, but I don't think she has an issue with any other Supe.
@@thedragon1363 True but to be fair I think it's just Starlight specifically that she doesn't mind killing because she already hated her because of when they were younger and competing in Supe pageants Starlight called her a "fat slut" and started a rumor that Firecracker was sleeping with the judges. I can just imagine how goofy Web Weaver would look if he swung from building to building like how Spiderman would but instead the webs come out of his ass
He probably shoots his webs and grabs onto them normally with his hands and swings around like Spider-Man or Tarzan swings who knows he never locked in and was always high out his mind
I feel like this is EASILY Homelander’s most gruesome kill we’ve seen on screen. Sure, he’s stepped on heads, snapped necks, sent fists through the rib cage and stomach, laser people in half as well as laser dicks off… But literally tearing someone in half?! This really surprised me. I’m also led to believe this is what he did to the unfortunate scientists in Ep. 4 if not worse. Poor Webweaver did NOT deserve this.
@@daymenpollet4202It reminds me of Sam from Gen V. When you watch his fights he's actually more brutal than this in general, especially when he's ripping apart all those special forces members. It's chilling to see how fucked up supes can get compared to homelander, who is famously lazy.
@@smartardI'm calling it now, he redeems himself AND lives, because why would the writers wanna do exactly what all the morons on the internet are expecting. There's a reason you aren't writers
@@Ded5854I’m surprised he didn’t throw up or something bc the smell must’ve been potent af, first off his suit is said to smell so bad it was able to mask Hughie’s scent from Tek Knight, then the nasty liquid webs he’s sharting out his web hole also must reek, all in that tiny cell🤮
Yeah Homelander will more often than not at least will hesitate if you actually take control and don't piss your pants when he confronts you. I think he just can't stand what he perceives as "weakness"
Exactly, like this is a supe. Not some schmuck, we already know they are tough as hell, even the lower tier ones. Homelander just ripping him apart, oof. Wild.
@@ratman202 No, I think he has a great point. Do you wanna know what I was thinking after the scene and before coming down to the comments? I was wondering if Sam from Gen V was stronger than him because Sam literally did the same thing to one of Vought's security force guys. The exact same thing,, the same grip, hand positions, and all. But do you want to know what is the big difference that makes me think OP is onto something? Sam literally had no struggle at all, it was casual like he was opening a bag of chips while mindlessly watching tv. No effort at all, you could argue he didnt even mean to split the guy he killed in half.
With Webweaver being an obvious parody of Spider-Man, I can't help but feel like his death is also a reference to how Gladiator ripped Spider-Man in half during the Marvel Zombies comics. Webweaver's death is shot identically to the panel in that comic
@@hansolo631 I think it's a little too big of a coincidence. Homelander has done this before e.g. to the scientists; they just never showed it on screen. It would be a little strange to show it now of all times if it wasn't a reference.
@@zaimbaig5832 They put Spider-Man through the wringer because he's a fictional superhero, in a medium where conflict sells. It's comic books, not hugboxes. I don't see literally any other character's fans whine this hard.
Well he's abilities were just horrible like imagine trying to be a super hero with that Web power. Real spider man could actually fight homelander in comics he took Punches from hulk
2:19 The effect do looks pretty brital, but actor don't play currect emotions at all. He doesn't even widen his eyes when the break begins, let alone the rest...
Anyone else disappointed we only saw the disgusting side of this guy? Could have been interesting seeing if this guy had some combat prowess or at least seen him using his powers in a way that wasn’t just his equivalent of shitting himself.
Well it’s not surprising because it’s The Boys, Supes aren’t exactly elite fighters like in Marvel/DC. Also his character would not make him a viable fighter whatsoever bro was an insanely addicted junkie who regularly attends Tek Knight parties 😭🙏
1:13 I love this little reaction quirk by Homelander of having a stumble and some quick glance-backs. Firecracker tries to express her loyalty and subordination towards him with an obviously coerced confession, and presents this act so overblown heroic. This coincides well with his earlier moment about 'being surrounded by sycophants and morons'. Has been increasingly shown this season, and everytime I think it characterizes him A LOT.
always love the "Oh! What the fuck.." as homelander looks between firecracker and webweaver, who is currently shitting webs onto the floor uncontrollably
I just love how you can see that even the people that are on Homelander’s side are just terrified of him and probably only are on his side out of fear. Here, Firecracker finally realizes what she has gotten herself into.
She’s in way over her head, she really thought he was some kind of all American, wholesome hero that the systems hating on. Really she saw firsthand how much of a deranged, brutal, psychotic, emotionally impulsive person he really is, her whole belief system probably shattered before her eyes
Whats the deal with all the innocent supes having the most brutal deaths?.. Mesmer, Blindspot, Gunpowder, Supersonic, Webweaver... Garth's bitter hatred towards superheros i guess.
@Z3roH3ro99 Eh.. Gunpowder was just a kid and probably wasn't aware of what he was really doing when he murdered those resistance fighters in the flashback, remember he was kept in the dark about Soldier Boy's betrayal because he was the only member of payback whom didn't want him to go.
Homelander is the top dog in The Boys universe, but when you start comparing him to most DC/Marvel hero and villains, he doesn't hold a candle to them.
Homelander is above all street tiers in durability, and above most of them in strength, and might be up there in speed. This is just a verse where comics fights aren’t happening constantly and the verse is more physics friendly. Homelander would low diff most street tiers until Spider-Man, Luke Cage, Iron fist
This is not a version of spiderman, it is a parody. The Boys is also a completely different universe/multiverse/anything. it is not related to spiderman at all bro
I think homelander is immune to all sicknesses, considering they're trying to create a virus potent enough to kill homelander; so any regular sicknesses wouldn't harm him
I haven't seen anybody point out that the way he rips web weaver in half is almost exactly like how zombie gladiator ripped zombie spiderman in half in marvel zombies
Honestly I wouldn't be afraid if I worked for homelander, this guy could kill me at anytime, wtf am I gonna do about crawl and cower in fear? If it's gonna happen you may as well just let it happen because odds are he kills you if you're scared of him more often
