Considering how in the show the Deep is a resident butt monkey, apparently he is the only original member of the Seven, who still doesn't have a whole trail of innocent (human) blood behind him and how even the scene with Starlight was changed... yeah, pretty much. The Deep exists in the show basically just to suffer.

It is not uncommon for celebrities to have zero knowledge of comic book characters before getting involved with something and it is sadly not uncommon for people to choose to do zero research on the character they are playing. The amount of interviews that include the words "I've never read the comics" or "I've never read the source material" is super high and they usually cover it with an excuse of being worried about spoilers or not wanting THEIR character to be influenced since they aren't copying the source exactly. So it's always nice when someone actually does do research on who they are playing

@@LorieLynn that's early 2000s when comics were looked at as a joke. Not so much now. Not everyone is a professional. Actors studying the character they play is more common then not...... Just like some NBA in the gym all day and some go to the club.

@@mr.j410 No, its still heavily dependent on the movie/show and actor. There are also some directors that discourage reading the source materials (comics and novels both) for fear the actor will interfere with their vision by trying to recreate the source. It also depends on the materials because in some cases the stories split enough that it is deemed wasted effort to read source if you aren’t already familiar. In terms of preparation it winds up in the same category as getting singing lessons before filming a musical, they can, many do, but unless it is contractual requirement many won’t because they are confident they’ll do fine without.

Soldier Boy's going on to be fully restored to his former glory WOULDN'T BE a happy ending. He's a bad guy. He will NOT end up being the hero of the piece. People are really not getting that he's a villian, yet.

After spending several days getting drunk, stoned, laid, and generally debasing themselves as they saw fit, the Supes returned home to a hero's welcome with the world none the wiser as to what they were really doing in private.
