Another thing I hated about this season was how Ryan went from hating Homelander to then accepting him just like that because.....Butcher yelled at him once? Just seems like a weird 180 for no reason at all.

It’s probably because Ryan has never had that type of negativity from someone he thought loved him. Growing up he never really was punished and it really shows.

You were too kind, I thought this was GoT level bad writing. So many characters did a complete 180 in the last episode: - Hughie went from whatever it takes to doing the bare minimum. Remembering his dad, really? So doing the bare minimum to keep the lights on is considered strength? He could've been the MVP this fight if he just teleported Ryan out of there. Even if Soldier boy and Homelander teamed up, he could've teleported Soldier Boy out to the other side of the world. - Butcher went from scorched earth (he kept saying scorched earth so many times it was irritating), to: wait no because Ryan. Turns out Butcher was all talk no action. - Ryan turning evil was extremely cliche and generic. So he was raised by Becca for years, and all that goes out the window because of Homelander's sweet talk? All it took was 2 sentences for him to side with Homelander and undo the years of work his mom did? - MM did a 180 the whole season, he lost all his braincells in every episode. He went from the level headed one to punching soldier boy, shooting him with a shotgun, etc. - Kimiko went from I hate myself and my powers, I'm a monster, to hey let's kill these people in the most brutal and sadistic way possible instead of a quick, merciful death. Is this really the same character from the previous episodes? Soldier boy was the only one who stuck to the plan, everyone else flaked on him. Even if it meant killing his own son, he stuck to the mission. And Hughie was shittalking him the previous episode, saying he's not a soldier. Yes he was a piece of shit but he's the only charatcer I respect this episode because he was the only one who had the whatever it takes mindset. I'm done with this show, I don't care about the characters anymore: Ryan, Hughie, Butcher, MM, Kimiko did some really idiotic things this episode and I don't want to root for morons.
@introvertedrobot
@introvertedrobot Год назад
All of these points are extremely fair and really good points! Except I would say for Kimiko it is a lot more well written, Kimiko found out she had always been a monster when she had to protect Frenchie back in Herogasm. She was very scared of losing Frenchie, so she took the V again. This also comes into play with the music, throughout the season we are shown that Kimiko is really into musicals, and sometimes is in her own world when listening to them. In the scene where she does kill the people, Frenchie is in danger if she doesn’t stop them, and we see her listening to music to drown out the violent person she is. (because she hates it.) but that’s just my interpretation of it!
@lightvader4618
@lightvader4618 Год назад
You somehow just say bullshit after bullshit.. I'm gonna refute all your points as they are garbage 1. Hughie would have gotten terminally ill and his lifespan would have gone down to 12 months if he took anymore V.. Also it would have made zero sense for his character arc if he took it. 2. How do you not understand why Butcher is keeping his promise? It's the last wish of his dead wife. Also did you somehow forget the last episode where Butcher went through all those terrible memories? Did you think that wouldn't change him at all? 3. Ryan is not fucking evil yet.. The showrunner said that a big part of season 4 is the war for Ryan and if he will turn out like Homelander or not.. Also it was established already in season 2 that Ryan changes his mind very quickly. Did you somehow also forget that? 4. Saying MM was levelheaded means you weren't paying any attention.. He wanted to throw hands with Soldier Boy in almost every scenario where he saw him. 5. Kimiko's arc was about her accepting who she is.. She is naturally violent and she realizes that. Then she embraces it and will use her powers and violent nature to protect the ones she loves. Then the music as we have seen is her escaping from reality. How can you miss the point of her arc this fucking bad? So from what i have gathered is that you have watched the season when you were smoking crack.

@@lightvader4618 1. And yet he had no problems throwing his life away at the end of herogasm when Soldier boy was going to kill everyone with his blast just to kill Homelander. 2. Oh I understand that. I'm going to make you hate me to protect you is a stupid way of handling the situation. Also, my point is Butcher is inconsistent. He says one thing and does something else. He says scorched earth but is like Vin Diesel all about family. Does that make any sense? Do you even know what the words scorched earth means? Soldier boy does. It means doing whatever it takes no matter what just to get the job done. Why does Butcher keep saying scorched earth if he doesn't mean it and if he changed from the previous episode? Also, why couldn't Butcher just tell Soldier boy "not him" about Ryan just like he told Soldier boy not to kill MM in Herogasm? Inconsistent writing. 3. So Ryan being wishy washy and changing his mind depending on what he feels like that day makes him a terribly inconsistent character. Is this good writing? And how is he not evil yet? A good person would be happy and smiling seeing their father murder an innocent civilian right? Did Becca teach this boy nothing? 4. That's my point. Learn to read before you type. He was levelheaded in the previous seasons. The rational one. This whole season he was not rational. I understand he has history with Soldier boy and it's personal/emotional, but that doesn't excuse just doing the most idiotic things. 5. I understand she's violent, that's not my point. I'm saying she's sadistic, cruel, and she tortures people instead of killing them quicky. Why can't she be violent and quick? Maybe look in the mirror before insulting other people. And keep defending garbage writing.

@@metalocalypse113 Fucking pay attention god damnit.. 1. Did you miss my entire second poit on this which was that it would make no sense for Hughie's character arc to take the V right now. 2. Butcher obviously fucking says scorched earth, but that doesn't include Ryan.. He had no idea that Ryan suddenly was going to be at the tower. He thought that Ryan would be safe with Mallory in god knows where. And as i said he just fucking had those flashbacks that obviously had a small change on him.. And as i said pay attention mf.. Butcher literally says to Soldier Boy that "not the kid" and Soldier Boy doesn't give a fuck since he wants to end both Homelander and Ryan.. 3. Ryan is a god damn child.. He obviously changes his mind faster than a fully grown adult would. And why the fuck are you suprised Ryan went with Homelander when Butcher blamed Becca's death on him and Homelander did the opposite.. Again pay attention so you won't say this kind of stupid bullshit. And he's not happy at the murder.. He's happy that he's getting attention. That's fucking obvious.. 4. Being emotional doesn't make you inconsistent mf.. MM's reaction is completely in character for him considering how much he hates Soldier Boy and how much time he's been trying to research stuff about him and get revenge on Vought. Yes he is irrational, but you gotta fucking understand that these are people. They make mistakes and sometimes wrong and irrational choices. None of this makes MM out of character. 5. Because she is violent.. Also she doesn't torture them.. That guy she was slashing was dead after the first slash so she isn't fucking torturing him you idiot.. That is how she kills people. Like how she ripped apart that one dudes face in season 2. Nothing about this is inconsistent with her character. Clearly you were smoking crack when you watched this season as it seems you didn't pay any attention at all to what was happening.

The powers are so inconsistent. When Maeve first punches him he just says 'not now Maeve' :D so it didn't seem to have any sting in it. And I thought it was a bit off how Butcher was getting dazed pretty quickly from Soldier Boy's punches even though he was mixing it up and grinning against Homelander's. Some people just say 'oh come on, it's just a superhero show, what do you expect', but a whole host of people like to look at a few technicalities without going into deep science. Same with One Punch Man- people love discussing who could beat who even though Saitama is obviously a joke.

@@Rutley7 It didn't hurt Homelander.. At no point did he look hurt. Bleeding from your nose doesn't equal being hurt. Also Soldier Boy was much weaker in Herogasm due to the blast he did so it's really not the powers being inconsistent it's just people not paying any attention
@Rutley7
@Rutley7 Год назад
@@lightvader4618 Yeah, I considered that, that the blast had weakened him. I still think it's inconsistent. Like how Homelander sped Butcher out of the room the moment the bomb went off (at the end of the first season) but for some reason just told Ryan he needs to get out.. I mean, that fight between Butcher and Soldier was so sloppy and slow even for human standards.
@Rutley7
@Rutley7 Год назад
@@lightvader4618 And even if Soldier Boy is stronger in this scene because he's not coming off a blast he's still supposed to be weaker then Homelander. I saw an interview with Anthony Star and he said that Soldier Boy would put up a good fight against Homie but ultimately lose, and basically the same even teamed up with Butcher.. like in Herogasm he claimed you'd need the 3 of them to take him down. So how can you justify Butcher taking a few shots from Homelander just for fun when in the final showdown he's dazed by Soldier.. That's kind of a rhetorical question.
@lightvader4618

@@Rutley7 That bomb feat was a hyperbole. Never has Homelander shown that type of speed outside of that one moment. Like obviously travel speed and combat speed in very different, but even when Homelander has been trying to go fast like when he was searching for Translucent he was never that fast. So that bomb speed feat is a hyperbole. And i wouldn't say that about Butcher's and Soldier Boy's fight. It looked like a normal brawl. It looked about as fast as any other fight in this show.

Some of my biggest frustrations from the season finale and season as a whole: - Starlight's entrie character, not doing anything effective against Homelander, and making Soldier Boy to be more of a problem than Homelander, I hope the consequences catch up to her - Nobody meaningful died this season (they could have easily killed off characters like A Train, Ashley, The Deep, Cassandra, Nina) - The Boys are randomly a team again and should have remaiined divided (Hughie and Butcher together seperated from everyone else) - How soldier boy was treated in the finale (I was rooting for him so I was biased) - Lack of lasting consequences/payoff all around - Lack of change to status quo/increasing the stakes There are definitely more problmes but this is what stands out. His last love was killed by a supe and now Homelander is threatening his new love so it would make sense why someone who felt powerless to do anything would take something like that. Did they actually go with that? Nope he’s just a toxic male because of course he is - They keep telling us that Soldier Boy is worse then Homelander without actually showing us why - Starlight’s character flip-flopping back and forth between being scared shitless of Homelander yet wanting to be team captain just so the writers could shove in some half-assed pseudo feminism like come on you were just scared of this guy a few minutes ago now you’re all on board with taking the spotlight from him?

Its insane how quickly season 3 went from my favourite season to my least favourite season. There was so much bullshit in the last episode. Like for example Maeve being as strong as homelander and then surviving being right next to soldier boy while he did his super attack AND then surviving falling the tower without superpowers and after all that she wasnt really even injured. Or Butcher stopping soldier boy, because Ryan was there when most likely the only thing that would happen is that homelander would lose his powers (or die, which would be even better for everyone) and since homelander was protecting Ryan with his body from soldier boy, Ryan would most likely too only lose his powers, which would be good for Butcher since he doesnt want a supe child. The part where he still decides to try to kill homelander, despite having no incentive to, seemed pretty contrived to me. I’m sure he’ll return in the final season and MM will kill him. But to not even give a scene with him and black noir, after all that setup? Very disappointing. About Butcher seeming weaker in the finale being strange. I think it's because of the number of times he took V24. Each time it was taking a toll on his body. The last dose was supposedly going to kill him. So it's possible that he had powers, but his body was also deteriorating. Also brain damage seemed to be the main implied damage, and Soldier Boy rocked his head a bunch of times with his punches. The body punches I think weren't too bad on him.

The problem with this show is that they are so afraid of changing the status quo. I like it when there are actual stakes. Major characters dying, major characters going through major development. None of that ever happened with Billie and Homelander always staring each other off at the end of every season. It's the same ending every goddamn seasons. They should have given way more focus on the side characters if they are not going to change the status quo of these two. Give each season with a main focus on a protagonist and antagonist apart from these 2 characters and let them truly shine and have an ending for them either death or major developement. Then they can have Billie and Homelander as background moving the biggest plot of the series forward but not actually taking the center stage every time.

I liked how Maeve actually hurt Homelander because she actually trained for it. One of the major problems in The Boys is that training is never involved or showed, making the power scaling really weird. I mean, other than Maeve, actually few heroes train except for young ones training to develop their powers. Once your powers are developed you're done for life with training, or so it seems to be. Maeve, the only one who is actually shown training her techinque and strength surely will manage to do some damage, expecially against the only one person who never ever trains because can kill everybody in one hit. I mean, he doesn't train even when he fights against real enemies if he only kills by ripping their hearts out or lasering them. He's strong but he hase no technique, no battle iq, no ace in his sleeves.

I thought mave and Homelander was like wonder women vs superman…. She can hold her own and even do some damage but she would inevitably lose if the fight went on…. Plus he wasn’t really going full out on her like he was with butcher and soilder boy……. I don’t think soilder boy is done with yet personally….. and what Homelander wanted has come true he is starting to build a relationship with his son and his son is turning like him…. Yes I would of loved a massive fight at the end but we had a good fight in herogasm….. they are just setting it up for the last 2 seasons.

My biggest criticism of season 3 was its Trump Derangement Syndrome showed way to much. PLEASE HEAR ME OUT BEFORE TYPING ANGERY RESPONSES! I did enjoyed season 3 in spite my criticism and Homelander is one of my top favorite tv villains right now inspite what I'm going to say. The first two season also took hard hitting shots at the right and the show has taken some good shots at the left even in season 3. I'm also not saying Trump,/MAGA should be placed above criticism or satire. It just that in season 3 later half it started to get a way to on the nose and preachy to the point that I dont think its going to age well as times goes on. For example we have scense where homelander is telling people to not be afraid of supervilians and its safe to "go outside" which is a shot against Trump or anyone who was critcal of covid lockdowns. Say what you want about those lockdowns but the narative that we were being told at the time was that a very contagious virus that could kill you, put you in a hospital or kill someone near you was rapidly spreading across the planet. After being told that at the time it made sense to encourage people to stay home. First of all will future generations who see this show get this reference as time goes on? Or will the joke become really dated? 2nd, they forgot that the "Supervilians" of this world aren't one note comic books villains. Kimiko is a "super villain" and we learned through her that many of them are really victims of human tr*fficking and even created by vought to get the sueps in the miltary. Also Billy and Hughie were helping solider boy in order to kill Homelander. So we were rooting for the "villains" at this point. 3rd, I'm just going to say it, Homelander actually right in the stories context. Staying inside out of fear of running into a super villain is more like living you life in fear that you might run into a mass shooter or drunk driver or a terrorist. Not a world ending virus. These are all real things I listed that can happen to you and you should be careful but at some point you gotta to live your life. 4th Wasn't Vaught partly based on big pharma companies like Pfizer? Is this show now siding with them? 5th. I'm also going to say this, even the lockdown stuff hasn't been aging well. Little by little they've been admitting that some some of the lockdown measures to stop the spread weren't that effective, fear of the virus may of been overblow and the lockdowns did more damage people lives then the virus (People loosing their jobs/homes, mental health now at an all time low, economy took a massive hit, childern and college students being set back in their education or kicked out of school, freindship/families destroyed over vaccine/booster satus, people now fulky justify in distrusting our institutions). One thing I love about the boys is its mockery of Hollywood celebrities and season 3 still had great moments of this. But even the boys themselves started to sound like typical Hollywood liberals. Like why would the Boys of all people have a picture of Obama on their wall? In real life Obama would treat the Boys the same way he treated Edward Snowden and Julian Assange, hunting them down as whistleblowers. Also its ironic because in season 2 Homelander accidentally kills a civilian which was an obvious reference to drones.....and Obama killed way more civilians with drones then either Trump or Bush. It was one of the biggest controversies during his time as president. This dosen't mean they would like Trump but "the boys", who are fully aware of the of miltary industrial complex and US war crimes are going to really love Obama like ever other Hollywood celebrity? It just doesn't make any sense and comes off as really hypocritical. The only reason why is because Seth Rohan himself is a typical Hollywood liberal. Even some scenes started to feel more like lectures from late night hosts or pandering celebrities. A lot of MMs dialoge felt just as forced and one-sided as the woke celebrities Atrain was making fun of. The final scene just seem more like SNL sketch to me or probably what Seth Rogan thinks everyone who dosen't agree with him is like. Its funny because early in the show Homelander insisted that the super terrorist be called "super villains". Which was a cleaver way of calling out dehumanizing propaganda that over simplifies very complicated international problems as simple good vs evil naratives our gov uses against people. Simply labeling our enemies as "bad guys" without trying to understand history, economic conditions, culture and religion, government failures, political rivalry, oil, and other things that help create an environment that can lead to people becoming a terrorist. Yet the boys gave right into the same over simplified dehumanizing propaganda techniques when it came to half of the country that dosen't think like Hollywood. Everyone who dosen't think like Seth Rogan is either just stupid, racist, evil or all the above. So it's okay to dehumanizes half the country without understanding why they think the way they do or the problems they're dealing with. Just make them mindlessly cheer Homelander zapping a guys head off because their either evil people or dumb. Homelander getting control of Vaught and running the company to the ground had some confusing messages. I know what they were trying to say. He was supposed to be like Trump running the country to the ground. (That was obvious). I know they were trying to tell us why we should let the "expects" do their job,why we need a check and balances system and yada yada yada, you know the drill....but in the context of the story, don't we want Vaught to get destroyed from the inside out? Don't we want these "experts" to fail? Isn't it good that choas is destorying Vaught from the inside? The first 2 seasonn build up vaught as the puppet master who controlled everything. If you didn't like Trump chances are you probably still wanted to save the county from him, but we don't want to save Vaught from Homelander, we want to see both of them destroyed. Also the first two season told why we shouldn't always trust our institutions, Hollywood, news media, big pharma, coperations or thr government. Yet now you're the bad guy just like Homlander for encouraging questioning the system. Meanwhile the heros reinforce status quoe and encourage blindly trust our institutions. I could go on even more but season 3 2nd half felt like politcal pandering you see in everything else now. A lot of which I don't think will age well. I think future audiences might get confused by some of these choices

Homelander killing Noir should have happened at the end of the Season after the Soldier Boy fight. The show could have had its cake and eat it too, especially if Homelander is making a smart call by only killing Noir when he's confident Soldier Boy is no longer an active threat. Also, Soldier Boy should have uncovered that Butcher has a vendetta against all supes, not just Homelander, and that the Boys intend to kill him the second he kills Homelander. So Soldier Boy still wants to kill Homelander, but rather than a targeted blast at Homelander and Ryan like in the actual episode, he goes full supernova immediately, attempting to wipe out Homelander, Ryan, Noir, Maeve, Starlight, the Boys and everyone in Vought Tower in one move. And then after an exchange of blows, it's clear the only thing that will stop the blast is stunning Soldier Boy before he can detonate. Then, you have Soldier Boy on his own side, Homelander and Noir trying to kill everyone, Ryan trying to get involved in the fight and refusing to leave believing his dad will die if he doesn't fight, and perhaps trying to stop Butcher and Homelander from attacking each other. Maeve is gunning for Homelander, while Butcher is forced to divide his attention between Homelander and Soldier Boy. He can't just attack Homelander like he planned or everyone's dead.

I feel like this is the case of the “good guys” being too absorbed in their morals that when Soldier Boy comes in with a practical and pragmatic solution they refuse for the sake of saving others. They would doom many others they can’t see to save those they can. All that good guy talk got to Queen Maeve and she ended up choosing to do the “right” thing instead of the practical thing. Or it could just be shitty writing. This ending definitely could have been better but if season 4 is good that would make up for most of that. I’m so glad that I found this video. I agree with everything. After season 1 this show went downhill. The plot is so incoherent and inconsistent that it’s hard to understand what the actual conflict is anymore. Why are the boys and Vought still fighting each other? Because the plot says so. And it drives me absolutely insane that I don’t understand how powerful or strong the Supes are supposed to be. Sometimes they are invincible and sometimes they aren’t. So Queen Maeve has been this powerful the whole time?? Then why was she acting so afraid of Homelander when she nearly killed him? And everything is so rushed, how is Ryan all of a sudden so in love with Homelander when he literally grew up hating him? And what caused the switch? I don’t understand Stormfront’s backstory either. Her husband was a Nazi scientist that used Compound V to experiment on concentration camp prisoners…so was Stormfront one of those prisoners and then he married her after she became a Supe? Because why would he experiment on his wife when he had thousands of prisoners at his disposal? I thought Compound V was supposed to be super dangerous and fatal. That’s why Supes are so special because Compound V only works in special circumstances. They are medical miracles. But now just anyone can take it and they are fine. They could’ve wrapped this up in 3 seasons.

There is no point in looking for logic where there is none. Noir can be defeated in one hit, and Maeve will fight on equal terms, simply because the writer of the script is not able to think about simple things. For example, is Maeve also able to defeat Noir in one hit? Follow the latest series, yes, she should. Also this nonsense with an ear piercing, an object that should have simply broken on any part of the body of HL by analogy with Soldier Boy, but apparently not, you can just poke a long stick in his ear or eye and he will die, Homelander was simply turned into a laughingstock, not I'll be surprised that Newman will just blow his head off because "She realized that he was mortal and stopped being afraid!" and other nonsense. Worse is Maeve's stupid survival, if you don't want to kill the character, why put him in conditions in which he simply could not survive, what's the point in this false victim if you just save her with plot armor without any explanation.

It is insane how poorly this comment section understands The Boys. You guys are all talking about wanting “epic fights” and shit like that when that’s not really the point of the show at all. The main themes this season were power and family. Power is sort of the overarching theme of the show and gets iterated on in a different way every season (this season it’s with Temp V). Family comes into play in a lot of interesting ways as well: Hughie realizing the true strength of his Dad, Butcher regretting his choices with Lenny and fearing becoming his father, M.M. wanting to be a good role model for his daughter and feeling empowered by his family history, Kimiko and Frenchie finding family with each other, Soldier Boy talking about wanting kids, and of course Homelander’s desperate need to feel familial love. This theme plays heavily into the scene with Ryan that this video complains about. Soldier Boy represents an older form of masculinity and strength, and we see this contrast in how Hughie interacts with him. He’s handsome, powerful, and cool under pressure, but also unfeeling, ruthless, and existentially empty, only driven along by revenge and ego. Soldier Boy is everything that Hughie thinks he wants to be at the beginning of the season. As Hughie’s primary role-model, when Butcher starts shooting up Temp V, he validates that perspective, and pushes Hughie further down the rabbit hole. But then we get to the moment with Ryan. Soldier Boy has shown by this point that he doesn’t care about the only semblance of a family he has left, as he chooses to try and kill Homelander for possessing perceived weakness (the open desire for connection and love). Therefore he has no problem frying Ryan too. One of the only things that Homelander cares about is Ryan, so attending to him is pretty much the only way they’re gonna be able to distract him long enough to get a shot in. Butcher realizes this but comes to a moment of understanding: the innocent, and especially your family members, are not worth sacrificing for the ‘greater good.’ He let it happen before when he tried to get away from his traumatic childhood home life and left Lenny behind, he’s not going to let it happen again. So he stops Soldier Boy, resolving that there must be another way. Him and Homelander teaming up briefly to laser Soldier Boy also illustrates how they do share some similarities, which has been an important thread for the entire show. So that’s why the moment works: it forces characters to make decisions in line with their morality, and satisfyingly wraps up both Butcher and Soldier Boy’s character arcs for the season. The fight is just a fun way to manifest these ideas on screen - it’s not the point. A couple of other loose points. Black Noir doesn’t want “revenge” against Soldier Boy; he’s learned to no longer be afraid of those who hold power over him. He suffered severe brain trauma when he stepped out of line before, and despite putting Soldier Boy away, he always feared that it would come back to haunt him. Once he chooses to confront that fear and be honest with himself, his character arc is completed. It plays against our expectations and desires to see Homelander kill him, and therefore paints him as a truly tragic character, which is just good storytelling. If you were disappointed that he didn’t get to actually be heroic, that’s good - the writing is working as intended. We need to see characters who just get the absolute shittiest endings in order to feel tension when the stakes are high for our main heroes. And lastly, I don’t think any of y’all have really paid that close attention to Homelander or Maeve’s power levels this whole time. We’ve never really seen her go to town on anyone at full strength, and we haven’t seen anyone with super powers really try to take Homelander out. Yeah, Butcher and Hughie and Soldier Boy took on Homelander before, but that wasn’t really a fight as much as it was a scramble to hold him down and blast him. Plus, again, you have to consider the writing: at this point, Homelander feels totally abandoned and rejected, and Maeve is finally standing up against all of the bullshit that she’s taken from over the years. The oppressed is not less powerful than the oppressor, they are only taught to believe that they are weak. In reality, they are often much stronger than their oppressor estimates, and it shows in how Maeve can actually make Homelander bleed in the fight, something that he never expected to be possible. If Homelander truly is invincible, then the show would have no point. It’s pretty clear that he’s gotta go down eventually, and this is beginning to sow the seeds for that moment whenever it does come. If you’re not reading into the show on this level, I don’t know why you’re even watching it.

Black Noir should’ve fought Soldier boy and won! A lot of time has gone by and Noir has knowledge on his side! I would’ve loved if SB was gaining the advantage on HL and Noir comes out of nowhere and takes our SB! O well…

Mave is the 2nd strongest supe so how ?
@Stanlos
@Stanlos Месяц назад
Um. Maeve in the books is among the top 3 strongest (homelander, his clone, and Maeve). So, not sure where you are getting Maeve's positioning. So, care to share what in the three seasons indicates Maeve is lesser? Her physical engagements woth Stormfront and Noir can't be it. Sooooooooooooo, what got you to that conclusion?
@introvertedrobot
@introvertedrobot Месяц назад
The books are completely different from the show. The show is loosely adapting the books, so this doesn't apply.

Well, Maeve is about as powerful physically as Soldier Boy. Shes always been #2 in physical power/strength until he is awakened. And shes sbown to have been training half a year speficially for that moment. To buy a second. Also, pretty sure Homelander was holding back the entire first half of the fight.

Nothing really happened in the end and i hate the fact that "homelander and butcher three times in a row were like we both are angry and psychopath and ready to do final fight and end this in final episode but let's backoff in final minute so we can make another season for money let's backoff three times in a row just so we can make more unnecessary episode i mean wtf 😒

I thought it was a serious improvement over the second season. But the second season was soooooo bad that anyone could have been an improvement

- Hey starlight and MM, we're going to use soldier boy to kill homelander cause he is the biggest threat to humanity, a psycopath only holding back for media and public reception, Soldier boy has proved to be neutral and willing to help - "nah f that , soldier boy needs to be stopped im not joining a cold blodded murderer ~(like billy butcher, Frenchie or Hughie )~ lets take him down instead of homie"
@nani4249
@nani4249 Месяц назад
Worst thing is that they could just take out soldier after homelander and both mm and butcher get there revenge rather than it either being mm or butcher getting there revenge. Like mm literally states "why butcher can get his revenge but he cant get his", like what does that mean if they take solider boy butcher cant get his revenge but mm gets his, so at that point why is it fair that mm can get his revenge when butcher cant get his when his opponents is objectively worse and more evil. Imagine in the finale if MM swallowed his pride and took temp v alongside frenchie and they just defeated both homelander and soldier boy, it would have been so easy.

a year late but damn the finale was a lot of nothing in my opinion. finale season was really fun but damn the finale episode just felt like a massive waste of the rest of the season.

They made soldier boy weak at the end after nuking everyone with ease they used the same trope over and over… it takes too long use the nuke power dumb. At least make everyone lose their powers or something

This season was definitely very preachy compared to the last two seasons. And it definitely took me out of it at times… BUT the compelling characters/writing would always pull me back in.

which is ironic because the show acts like it's a criticism and satire of disney/the mcu with it's pandering/virtue signaling/fake woke nonsense

This reminds me of the old multi-verse or time machine crap of telling a story. Oh, you lost your powers? RESET. Take another dose and get em back. Maeve can do the same but she's the only smart character on the show. Her fighting Homelander 1on 1 was ridiculous but she's still my favorite on the show. Starlight....eek. That glossy cam they used on her because she had some sort of plastic surgery drove me nuts. I really liked Komiko until she became her monster self again. Ryan---we all hate superhero kids. I actually felt bad for Soldier Boy even though he's a murderous cunt. Also, the Homelander -Trump analogy was a bit too on the nose with him waiting to see if the crowd approved and then realizing he could be himself and say anything he wanted and do anything he wanted.
