I have a theory. I’m still thinking it’s a clone thing with the hair in the jar. Since Homelander is in charge of Vought, what if he missed his old friend (Noire) and wanted him back, but needed someone he could trust so he cloned himself and dressed him up as Noire. It would be interesting to watch the clone turn against Homelander as he’d be dealing with himself rather than his relationship with others.

Seen some people be like that's Sam in there since Sam got that Super strenght, defense and removed emotions by Cate but it might not be the case as he and Cate were announced as saviors on the news so that theory's out the window.

Don't think it's Sam but if he is, Cate could be his "manager" since she was on her way to becoming Golden Boy's manager

Imagine Frederick Vought's clone being Black Noir

Revisiting A-Train examining the jar on Homelander’s shelf. It’s interesting the shelf displays items from all the people he cared about that are dead. Stormfront’s photo, Noir’s katana, Stillwell’s empty bottle of her milk, plus the jar of mystery hair? Thinking back to last season where Homelander threatened Maeve that he was going to harvest her eggs makes me wonder if he could have used them for cloning experiments We see in the trailer a flash of someone dressed in a fake Queen Maeve costume in a stage play, and we see Black Noir. Could they be the result of cloning from Maeve’s eggs?

My one and only theory is that it's gonna be a hidden joke about actors being replaced by stunt doubles. So, the guy in the suit might not be the real black noir. Like, he's just an actor who's hired to play Black Noir.

I know Black Noir is supposed to be very wooden and all that but in that pose for the trailer, he looks super wooden and stiff, almost as if it's a dummy. With that being said, I kinda buy the zombie angle.

I don’t think Black Noir was truly killed at the end of season 3. Homelander gave him a speach about being loyal to supes and then punches him through the stomach. I think Homelander knew Black Noir could heal from this injury.

Or or what if Black Noir has healing abilities but keeps the scars. When Homelander struck him through the stomach, maybe he was just blowing of steam from being angry that he was lied to by a friend, knowing it wouldn't killed him. Hence there's no news about his death because he probably in a lab healing maybe..

They possibly used homelander stormfront dna to create a new black noir....or maybe ressurected the old one but with upgraded powers ...like soldier boy gained new powers thru expiramenting😮

Anthony Starr has a lot of previous experience playing two roles in the same scene. He did 6 seasons of an excellent comedy/soap in New Zealand called Outrageous Fortune, in which he played twins, well worth a watch.

I have a theory, this is all for show - they're (Vaught) and homelander are gonna kill this fake Noir and pin it on Annie/the boys in some way, and this is all just a cocktease, in the best possible way as this show is known to do

1.i think it is the old noir, which has super healing ability but is brainwashed by cate. The theory of Sam is not possible because out of all vaught's supes, he is the most dangerously mentally unstable one. Homelander clone is not possible because he has similar x-ray vision like Superman.

I feel in the comics they mixed moir and homelander up after birth. Homelander was pretty much superman, not the unstable guy they thought he was. Their supposedly more calm level headed version was the actual crazy one that needed checking. Noir was supposed to be the bold guy out in the spotlight that was outta control

Remember when Eric said to Nathan “you don’t wanna play young black noir in flashbacks because then everyone knows it’s you under the costume?” There’s a reason for that choice i assume it’s much bigger than merely a clone.

I think a cool twist and change from the comics would be a cloned butcher with gen v powers instead of a homelander clone. Imagine homelander taunting butcher with an evil version of himself. Plus it could be a nice mirror for butcher to see how far he's gone off the rails and see where the path he's taking leads. An even further weirder twist, would be the cloned Butcher turning good and rebeling against homelander after the real butcher goes fully off the rails. This cloned butcher then starts getting the original butchers memories and decides to raise Ryan.

I don't see the show going done the clone route its to predictable they could do the zombie route I can see them doing that possibly bringing back lamplighter as well but I till think most likely candidate is Sam

Just as a note on Black Noir and his power and how he comes back. First, people bringing up the previous Black Noir somehow being a Homelander clone...no. Homelander would not be able to just punch through his clone's chest with such ease. So yeah. Then, that conversation broadens out into, who could really take out Homelander in a fair fight, honestly? I mean, outside of Soldier Boy, Maeve has been shown to be the only one who can physically take Homelander on somewhat but because she lacked flight and, I guess laser vision (part of me wonders how devastating Homelander's laser vision really is because, I mean, we saw that Stormfront could take it and even told him to kick it up a notch but that had to be Homelander holding back BIG TIME because of how much damage Ryan did to Stormfront with his laser vision with him not even really having fully come into his powers yet), she would always struggle taking Homelander down. I bring it up, though, because I don't think even Maeve could realistically take down Homelander in a fair fight and maybe not even in at all, regardless, unless she had some kind of special weapon we've yet to see (that isn't Soldier Boy again or his power). The evidence for it is sort of bore out of everything in the first 3 seasons but also because of the dynamic of Homelander managing to get away from a V-ed up Butcher & Soldier Boy at the same time, showing just how damn durable he is. I was going to say that I think Maeve could only take Homelander down, if at all, if she used some kind of "cheap shot" assassination move that Homelander wouldn't see coming but after thinking more about it, I am wondering if she could do it even then. So, the question really is did they ever really represent the previous Black Noir as being as physically strong as Maeve? I can see a case maybe could be made for his being faster and perhaps having some kind of martial arts skill set, but maybe that's because Black Noir had to be faster (the same way Maeve had to train and work out, probably with the mindset that she might need to for the very purpose of perhaps wanting to kill him if she ever had the chance, through some miracle or gang-up) because he needed to be as he wasn't as durable as Maeve (healing ability and durability being two separate things). Or, to point it out from another angle that goes back to the first: How could Black Noir be as durable as Maeve, honestly? I think we have seen from fights that Homelander was not strong enough to just punch all the way through Maeve's chest and out the other side or even close like he did to Black Noir, so, it definitely can't be a Black Noir with the same skill set taking Homelander down on his own. Therefore, if this "new" Black Noir is to take Homelander down, it would have to be with some kind of gimmick, like a blade made out of an alloy that can cut Homelander or some other thoughtful and clever way around Homelander's defensive capabilities like with what they did to Translucent, OR the new Black Noir would have to be stronger than the old one, by far, in order for him to touch Homelander, which I hate to say because I love the Black Noir character (don't we all?) but it's just facts, or maybe Homelander is ganged up on. Maybe it's a combination of it all? Maybe Homelander gets taken down by Black Noir somehow using Ryan (who Homelander seems to care about or at least, convinced himself he cares about because he somehow sees himself in his son, I dunno) and Butcher and the other members of the 7 all helping? Or maybe it's a gang up situation but with Ryan playing a role where Homelander has let him down and realizes Butcher actually cares more about him and does it to protect Butcher (The way he chose to go to Butcher despite Homelander telling Ryan to come to him) during an all out battle? I mean, that is really the only way I can see Black Noir being a part of Homelander's death unless we are talking about a new Black Noir with even more amazing physical strength and durability than Soldier Boy. It's either that or Ryan plays a part which I think is the emotional element they want to take advantage of with Ryan & Homelander's evolving but still very complex relationship.

It may be nothing, but notice that in every group photo of The Seven, the two tallest characters are Homelander and Black Noir.... and they're the exact same height.

I honestly think it’s Sam. In his cell in the woods he has a payback poster. That means he’s obviously got knowledge of who black noir is and could hop in suit easily. There’s also the fact the last thing that happened to him was Kate telling him not to feel anything. Why I bring this up is because when he fights andre after that just like black noir; getting tazed and attacked with no reaction just like black noir. Lastly the is the original actor who plays black noir Nathan. I understand why you would keep him to keep black noir’s frame the same but I don’t see the problem with having another person under the mask again who isn’t Nathan. Sam just makes sense and I’d much prefer that to a homelander clone.

If black noir was faceless, and they showed Sam's face saying he's the new god of u or whatever, then clearly his face is shown to the world. Why would they cover blacks face again if it was Sam. Wouldn't make any sense, so it's deff not him.

I think Sam is black noir and the twist will be that Sam and Luke are both clones of homelander. But the experiment went a little wrong or they had to inject other dna too or something. There will be a reason why they don’t look like homelander. They won’t be exact clones.

Does anyone know how Supes age? Like do they age at the same rate as regular humans? I’m just asking because I believe stormfront didn’t seem to age and I haven’t seen sups dying of old age but rather something else but they clearly must age at some type of rate

Okay, so… hear me out here. What if the new Black Noir is secretly Blindspot? After losing his hearing, his tactile senses became so great that he can “hear” with his body. Ashley brings him back as part of a secret plan to take down Homelander. Blindspot has a grudge against Homelander, so he’ll help Ashley with this. With no sense of hearing, he won’t have the same weakness to high frequency sounds that most other Supes have.

I was thinking they’d switch things around from the comics and maybe Homelander will have some of Butchers DNA and they’ll clone Butcher, supe him up with Compound V and have him be the new Noir(under the mask) as well as making his life miserable like he did to Homie in the comics

Sam makes no sense simply because he's already had his face shown and been branded a hero by Vought/Homelander There's no reason to throw him in the costume, and, given that basically no one knows what Noir looks like it, if anyone saw Sam it would make it obvious something happened since he's a kid and was just at the College

My guess is the reanimated zombie theory like blarney cock and lamp lighter in the comics. Noir already didn't talk they couldn't afford losing even more 7 so zap him throw him back out and parade him around. That seems more in line with how this show has been rather then them doing some crazy twist that makes the playing field and story telling more complicated

I still want to see a twist where Homelander has a son but it's not Ryan (Vought thought Becca's unborn son was Homelander's until he was born and then realized their mistake and just V'ed him). Homelander realizes this to spend an entire season searching for his real son and the last episodes reveal he's a sup more powerful, educated, and stable than Homelander (fixing the mistakes with his upbringing) who just wants to take a hands off approach and it's played by Michael Fassbender. Basically, he's the perfect superhero but he chooses to let humanity take care of themself and Vought can't do anything to make him fight due to him being the most powerful being on the planet; however, he would take down Homelander if he ever needed to.

I think they make the clone to jeopardise homelanders new found fan acceptance , damagaging his campaign ,as a effort to stop him being completely in control

i think noir is alive. we see that he can survive vital organs being nearly destroys even if they come back damaged. he could just have major intestinal damage now or have bowel incontinence
