It’s just every champ for what the last decade also defends as well (yes even the nuggets), ideally a T15 defense. That’s the only ? this team has, If they can go get it done on that end of the floor, their ceiling is limitless.

@@MrE_ the Suns were a top 5 defense for the past 3 seasons… it’s an overblown narrative that they’re a bad defensive team cause of Ayton quitting on the suns last season so Jokic had a field day against the Suns which started the false no defense narrative. The Suns defensive potential will be higher than it’s ever been compared to any of the past 3 suns team, not only because the personel on the team is superior but frank vogel will be a massive upgrade over Monte in that department as well. I can't tell if he is underrated or overrated because of the wizards. This is the same dude who scored over 30ppg and won a scoring title, but that just may be because he was on a trash team. I don't think he's a top 15 player, but he may be in that convo. We gotta see how he does on a contender

Tatum for sure, still a top 5-10 defensive forward in the NBA.

For me it depends on my roster. If I have a defensive minded team then I’m taking Booker. If not then I’m taking Tatum.

He’s been in the playoffs for most of his career now and he still struggles to be consistent on the biggest stage. Booker is a top 10 player right now he’s definitely better imo. Tatum is good but he’s just not as much of a dawg as booker. Has better physicals though

Nah, dude is right. The Suns need the downhill presence. Basketball is a simple game. If Beal is getting to the rim, the defense tries to protect the paint. When the paint is clogged, Durant and Booker kills the opponent from the 3 point line. If they don't close the paint off, Beal scored 30. Notice how he mentioned the champion Nuggets. That's who everyone is gonna game plan for because many teams have that set up. Look at the 6ers, Heat, Lakers, Bucks. They all have a prolific wing player while fielding a good to great big. No one has a big three that can score better than the Suns. The Celtics, Mavs and Warriors have prolific wing players as their best players is where you'll have to see what they do. It's a great addition to the team and it's going under the radar. The Suns with be really really good. They could win upwards of 60 games this year if everyone is healthy.

They’ll win the chip this year or next, based on what you said I’ve said the same thing. I don’t think they need a traditional point guard. They have starting scoring, bench scoring and defense, bol bol is an under appreciated rim protector and they have snipers everywhere. Mark my words, all healthy this team will eventually get to the promised land.

They took the nuggets to 6 games with no depth and KD only played in like 8 games. 😊

@@breadwinner3558 you could argue the roles between the big 3 fit better, but you could also argue that they don't, given that they don't have a single true PG on the team and like 6 SGs instead. And still, yeah the Lakers were not gonna win a title with that squad, but the main reason they flamed out as badly as they did is that neither LeBron nor AD could stay on the court for the whole season. AD played exactly half the season, and LeBron played 50-something. This Suns team's injury history is even worse, somehow, and Beal's NTC assures that they will have to do this veteran minimum signing spree every single offseason until he's off their books, which means they're not really going to get any deeper long-term and the core will likely only continue to get worse unless Booker has another gear to show us.

Lakers were old & didn’t fit together. Beal kd booker are all skilled enough to make the fit work. Defense is the only question

This.. people are sleeping. Chris Paul had an insane amount of open shots towards the end of the regular season and in the playoffs and now you just replaced him with Beal. Got an great return on bench players and wings and shooting improved dramatically. This team will win a chip this year or the next season… mark my words.

CP and some 2nd rounders was a steal.. no one has to convince you of anything since thats obviously a good trade. Maybe they don't auto win a title.. who knows. Nets situation was actually good when you look at atleast 2 of the 3 superstars being healthy. All 3 healthy they would have won. KD led them alone for 2 games with a crippled harden being in one and kyrie being in none. Against a complete healthy BUCKS team. Just look it up. I don’t like “what if’s” but everyone knows if kyrie didn’t suffer that ankle injury or James with the hamstring they most likely win the chip. If they both were healthy with Kd. They beat the suns for sure after beating Giannis. They were up 49 points in the 4th in game 1 with Milwaukee’s starting 5 and role/bench players healthy. Please look it up if you don’t remember

Just from eye test alone, Beal appears more explosive even though he’s 30. They’re definitely on par or nearly the same when it comes to athleticism. Book has slightly more bounce i’d say, but that’s it

Are they? They are a legit title contender. Would I pick them over Denver or LA? Not right now. I have serious questions about their defense, fifth guy, and what the offense will look like. (i.e. what will the ratio of ball/player movement to KD ball be?) But they have a puncher's chance in any series. Just look at last year. Phoenix managed to take two games off Denver despite having the worst net rating of Denver's four playoff opponents. They can steal games. There are always irrational fans who are gonna say this team or that is the "clear" favorite. But most NBA fans, unfortunately, don't know what the hell they are talking about 90% of the time.
