+Davey74Boy In the later reunion movies, Jan fared much better than Marcia. She became a successful architect, and married a much more sophisticated guy than did Marcia.
RB2331 I seem to recall! Kind of funny when you think about the reversal of fortune for both girls. Actually, in the later Brady episodes, such as this one, you can see how Jan is blossoming into a serious and capable young woman, while Marcia shows signs of becoming a teenager who is not too keen on growing up.
Autumn In Motion maybe not in this episode but Jan was the most "dramatic" character of all the Brady kids. Marsha Marsha MARSHA!!!! She wasn't able to handle being a middle child as well as Peter.
The shop owner played the voice of Fred Flintstone in the later years. Original 1960s series was voiced by another guy, Alan Reed, but he died after series ended replaced by this dude.
Jan finally got the recognition she deserved! Nothing against Marcia in any way, but this was Jan’s moment:)👩🏼✨👏🏼😀💗 And that’s Michael Gray from, “Shazam!”:)
@@timebandito4278 You are welcome and if you look at a lot of episodes, Marcia went to Jan and talked to her about a lot that was going on..like when she’s talking to Jan here behind the counter. Jan was always so loyal to Marcia:)
Bakersfield, CA has a wonderful place called Dewar's Candy Shop that looks pretty much like this place, with less seating. They make their own ice cream and candy on site and the marshmallow fluff (also made onsite) is to die for!
Agree: best practice would be for the manager/owner to speak to Marcia & Jan separately about why he was letting Marcia go and keeping on Jan. Technically Marcia had more seniority over Jan so she normally should have been the one to be kept on. However, what might have happened was her ex & his new gal saw him about to enter, he might have remarked about the whipped cream on his clothes and they - especially the girl - complained to him about what Marcia did, causing him to make a snap decision to return to work so he could let Marcia go while saving face instead of outright firing her. These days people would be recording it on social media, the gal would become a "Karen" about reporting the incident all over, etc.
After having whipped cream sprayed on him by Marcia, a confused and dejected Billy Batson ditches the girl he's with, and finds a private area to speak with The Elders for advice on his dilemma. "Oh, Elders, fleet and strong and wise, appear before my seeking eyes! "
Jeff's girlfriend's hairdo was VERY popular. Jeff and his girl storm out with cream all over their shirts leaving the other three customers thinking, "WTF?? I ain't never coming back to this romper room!"
The actress is Kimberly Beck-Hilton who was later on the soap opera Capitol and lots of other shows and movies. Very pretty girl married into the famous hotel family.
In addition to being a better worker, Jan also showed more control and maturity on the job. When she thought that she was being fired instead of Marcia, she did not fly off the handle. Meanwhile, Marcia had sprayed whipped cream all over her ex-boy friend and his date. I do not think Jan would have done that.
Nothing against the Marcia character who was my favourite of the girls, but wtg Jan! Hard work shows you could succeed! I always felt for Jan and Peter for that matter for being the middle children
Jan later became an architect, like Mike, in the later Brady movies and TV miniseries, and married a professor. There were hints of her creative talent in another BB episode that was really a retread of Her Sister's Shadow where Jan tries out everything, but accidentally found her talent during a tryout for a play. She was playing an artist, and goofed up her lines. She felt she failed at everything, but was surprised to learn one of the school's art teachers loved her painting, and wanted her to join the art club.
@@ravenel2 Maybe, but the amount of middle-aged people who don't know the difference between basic homophones is astounding. So I wouldn't be surprised if it were someone older, either.
@@ja8452 The difference between "could care less" & _"couldn't_ care less": _'Could_ care less' means that you care a _little_ bit. _'Couldn't_ care less' means that you don't care _at all._
Henry Corden played Mr. Haskel in this episode. He guest--starred on many TV shows during the 60s and 70s but is best known for voicing Fred Flintstone during the 70s and 80s.
“Trying to get that little ball into that little hole” Butthead “Heh, heh, he said ball, heh, heh” Beavis “He said he hole. Heh, heh. Bunghole, heh, heh”
Ya but she didn't seem too worked up about it. She threw her rag on the table and made a sour face. Jan would've yelled "Marcia Marcia Marcia" and stormed off
It's just because the owner saw the two customers full of whpped cream on them and complaining and knew it was Marcia did not give good customer service.
"Marcia! He left without paying!" Well, what did you expect Jan after having his clothes deliberately soiled by whipped cream? Also, if this was in today's world, the ex boyfriend and girlfriend would have sued the establishment for a million dollars - $100 for the clothes and $999,900 for pain and suffering.
It’s the lack of processed food. I have noticed that when these girls are wearing short skirts, their arms and legs look somehow healthier than kids today-even muscular kids who are thin and go to the gym. Even movie star kids. These kids just look healthier.
@@ravenel2 around 1980 and thereafter, food companies switched from regular sugar to HFCS. I remember pop companies led the way. They started making bottles bigger 1.5 litres, and eventually 2 litres, People could consume more without feeling satiated, ---the whole strategy of HFCS. Supersize era started!
She also played Nancy Bradford in the “Eight is Enough” pilot (with Mark Hamill as oldest brother David). There was a great deal of time between the pilot being shot and ABC picking up the show, so Kimberly Beck asked to be released so she could do another (short-lived) show.
Marsha's being a good sport if that was me or people I know we would have took the ice cream and dumped it over their heads not just the whip cream so she's being a better sport and I love that Jan stands behind her like when Marcia n Jan stick tight together has real true sisters. They were best friends in real life behind the scene that's why they could do a good act together
He would've seen the two angry customers covered in whipped cream and leaving his ice cream parlor, then upon walking in the door saw Marcia sitting down in uniform while on the clock. Not the way to keep up appearances for Marcia.
