Peter took advantage of Marcia because she's his sister. He thought he could do whatever he wants because his sister hired him. When a relative hires you, that doesn't entitle you to any special privileges, if it did, it wouldn't be fair to the other employees.
Peter gets fired by Marcia after being a less than mediocre worker and his responses to name call her and accuse her of stuff; Jan is able to replace Marcia due to being a very exemplary worker, and she feels sorry for it
Peter says he's been trying to get a job and couldn't. Then he's given one and then doesn't do the job. After you get a job, you have to prove that you deserve to have the and you do that by DOING the job!
I always assumed the bike shop episode came after the ice cream shop episode- that would have made more sense- he learned his lesson at the ice cream shop and was being repentantly hard working for Mr. Martinelli. But Mr Martinelli fired Peter first, and when his parents give him their speech, Peter rests on his laurels and goofs off at his second job.
Could be. But even so, my dad who worked at Ford as a press op would tell some stories of slackers and coworkers goofing off. I guess every generation has their share, but this generation is the worse. They're complaining about not being able to pay rent and evictions during the pandemic, yet they were getting more from unemployment and help with stimulus checks. Get back to work and pay your rents!
Glad Marcia fired him. Even if your a family member you will get fired for taking your own breaks at work and not working. He was just taking advantage just because he's Marcia's brother.
Jeff Rogers I don't understand what's so important in life that you constantly need to be on your phone... I have one but unless I absolutely had an emergency I wouldn't use it much outside of home...
The way Peter was talking on the phone, it reminds me of my first wife at home always on the phone. (Land line). Now at your work place, you see people on their phone. (Cell phone). either texting or looking at something. Or whatever.
I can't believe how irresponsible Peter was. He wants a job to make some money to get what he wants yet he doesn't do his job. What was he thinking that you can just sit around and get paid for it. Seems kind of dense at his age.
People on social media think TV shows are real. They are stories designed to entertain people. If Peter behaved responsibly like a person would do on a job in real life, there would be no story, no ratings, and dozens of cast and crew would be out of a job. Does that make sense?
Later on, Peter: You fired me because you're power hungry. Marcia: I fired you because you're lazy and you deserved it. Peter: You know what you are? A company stooge! Marcia: And you're a capital G, goof off!
I've been working at a supermarket 12 years tomorrow and my boss has fired a couple of employees who did not want to be team players. It shows there's no such thing as a free ride.
True. But he was really trying to make it work. He just wasn't cut out for the job. Here, he could do the job, but he was just being a slacker! Taking advantage of his sister thinking she'd over look his goofing because he's family.
Shayna Nichelle I have no recollection of watching this or commenting this on it so thank you for commenting to me haha I almost forgot Peter created the term shook!! 😆
In the 70's it was funny when Peter was on the phone he was slacking off he didn't take his job at the ice cream shop seriously this episode brings back memories I'm 58 now I watched every episode of the Brady Bunch I liked Barry Williams who played Greg and Maureen McCormic who played Marcia Brady she was beautiful the 2 dated in real life.
This was the 1970s everybody had long hair I think they were sick of the Vietnam war and when the Vietnam war and did everybody do their hair real long and he probably smoke reefer to along with Greg
I love reading these comments... " Peter got fired because he was lazy." " Peter got fired because he was taking advantage of his sister." Gee people tell me something I don't freaking know.
Reading these comments, I’m convinced that anyone born after 2000 truly doesn’t understand the purpose of television and the goal of high ratings/entertainment.
The quick shot you see in the beginning: Does anyone know the address and if this was a real ice cream shop in Cali? Or did they just set up prop signs for filming?
Peter:(to Bobby) Then for no reason at all, right out left field, she fired me. Bobby: What a rotten thing to do to your own brother. Peter: That's what happens when you give small people power, they can't handle it. B.S.!
First Peter Brady gets fired because he tried his best at the bicycle shop but didn't have the ability to do the job which isn't his fault, but he could have prevented this firing at the ice cream store if he didn't goof off.
Peter says he's been trying to get a job but to no avail. After watching this, I can plainly see why that is! The lesson learned here, ladies and gentlemen, is when you are given a job, you have to prove yourself worthy of that job, and you do that by not only doing that job, but also dedicating your life to it, like Jan would be doing later on! Yes, it's that simple!
This is very similar to that South Park episode last year with Eric Cartman and Butters Stotch working at the ice cream shop. Eric would do any work, and complained about the toxic work environment, and Butters did all the work.
The first time peter gets a job last season he took ages fixing one bike going past deadlines fixing things that didn’t need to be fixed until he had to be fired now in this episode he goofs off peter has some bad luck with jobs
When your asked to get a job done it really needs to be done you shouldn’t really be goofing off because if The boss Seems that you’re not working he might fire you so be very careful when you get a job I learned today in job group it was awesome
When I'm @ work I don't goof off. I do what my manager tells me to do. And when it's slow at work I keep myself busy because managers don't want to see anybody slacking off.
