@@abinashmishra329 If I recall correctly, her not going on the ski trip wasn't the first punishment. It started out with her doing special chores. However, she didn't do them right away. When that happened, her grounding would take place after the ski trip. When she sneaked outside late at night to mail the letter, and got caught, then and only then was she barred from the ski trip.
@@Valkonnen - Yeah, but her handwriting is still superb! I had to write cursive just like everyone else. But my handwriting sucked then, and still sucks at age 54.
I doubt it was her actual writing. Someone usual has the job of doing those close ups. They never are done by the real actor. If you ever notice the hands will be someone else's or they will have their shirt showing from under their jacket in the close up but the main actor wouldn't have their shirt out. I think those close ups go to a stand in or someone who just does that and not other acting.

Something I never thought about is that Marcia would’ve realized there’d be hundreds ,possibly thousands of entries and she must’ve wondered if all the trouble she got in was even worth it. She would’ve wondered if her entry would even get read. When they reveal what the prize that Mike won is, the look on her face is priceless and that all her sacrifice was worth it!
Well maybe and maybe not. I mean look at what happened to my sister Jan. Don't you remember that she ran away from home and changed her name to Dawn and began peddling the very iconic and much sought-after Brady bush along the busy streets of Hollywood. She actually became a hooker. Who would have thought that someone in our wholesome family could do something so stale. Well Jan certainly did. And we're still trying to find it in our hearts to forgive her for publicly embarrassing our good Brady name. Oh well.

@@bluerain3681 you're absolutely correct. The scene was cut where mom actually beat the hell out of Peter for breaking her favorite vase. But to her credit, it was the only time in our entire lives we had ever heard our Mom use profanity. When she heard that Peter had broken the vase, without thinking she said: " was that son of a b*t*h playing ball in the house again"? And when Cindy innocently chimed in " but Mom if he's your son, then does that mean you're the bi*c* that you're referring to"? The back-handed slap that mom landed across Cindy's face caused her to not only see stars, but the entire milky way according to later accounts from Cindy. My Mom always went out of her way to praise the Brady Bunch editing team for their brilliantly talented editing work. They were always capable of saving a scene that didn't work too well.

Marcia wears a Sleeveless Shell.They were in style in the 70's.Had Cuffs at the Shoulders & Neck.Horizontal Stripes,Rugby Stripes,Two Tone Stripes,Horizontal Pinstripes.Had them in Multicolors,Solids & White (Red,BlueGreen,Yellow,Pink,Black,etc).In the early 80's,They were revised as Muscle Shirts (Similar to Sleeveless).Came in PInk,Purple,Turquoise & White.
But the only thing about Full house Danny looses his wife Pam and Jesse the girls uncle moves in and Joey Danny's friend moves in and Jesse Marry's Becky and has 2 boys Nikki and Alex and The only thing about Full house they don't have a maid like Alice same with the Show the Torkelsons and Almost home Milecent has 5 kids and a Border and Milecents husband who left them who came through 2 different eppisodes divorced Milecent and then In Almost Home Milecent brings 3 of her children out of the 5 but Stephen Floyd and Ruth Anne they were never mentioned again, neither was Border Hodges Milecent and the kids move in and she works as Mr Morgans Nanny to watch over Molly and Gregory so The Torkelsons and Almost Home and Step by Step with The couple she has 2. Daughter's and a son and the Man has a Daughter and 2 sons so the Brady Bunch is alot like Full house The Torkelsons Almost home and Step by Step exsept for the differences of the people in their lives just saying

I loved the first season. The stories were cute and the kids were adorable and the parents clothes and hair were classy. Not tacky like in later years.
Well actually I slept quite well. It's not just about what you say but it's how you say it and in what tone you say it in. I have the best dad in the whole world.
I always loved Mike Brady's Home Office/Den. So much took place in there. Speeches, Punishments, Work, Bill paying and the like. I think now more than ever Homes should have that. I had no idea that he attended Northwestern University which was also the Alma Mater of Megan Markle, and it's where Two Future Soap Creators studied. Bill Bell & Agnes Nixon who Created and Co-Created Another World, Wrote for Guiding Light and became Superstars as Creators of The Young & The Restless & The Bold & The Beautiful not to mention All My Children and One Life To Live. He also studied at The Royal Academy Of Dramatic Art where a lot of UK Actors studied as did Tamara Braun (Ex-Reese All My Children) and Ray McConnell (Ex-Dr. Joe Martin) All My Children.
Cindy: Jan and me were in bed. Mike: Jane and I. Parents always correcting their kids' grammar. My parents did that to me all the time, too. Well, teachers do the same. But I'm not saying it's a bad thing.
We almost never saw that far wall in Mike’s den that we see here when the girls spin around to face him. Usually there would be a camera in that general location shooting in toward the entrance or facing Mike’s drafting table. I wonder if they moved a temporary set wall against the same area just to get that angle, or if it was shot in an entirely different part of the studio.

Mike should have put a Lock & Key on that Den and only allow Alice & Carol to have access to it. Kids can be very nosey and in that house all kinds of accidents happen. The Broken Vase, The Glue that ruined Mike's Plans, etc.
We trusted our kids. Plus I only had 1 lock and it was on a box and I had some very private items in it. I definitely did not want Carol seeing what was in the box.
@@bluerain3681 well Dad I never understood what was valuable or confidential about the items you had locked in that box. When Peter had his Sherlock Holmes detective kit, all of us kids watched him pick the lock on that box and the only things we found were some rubber sausages and a bottle of Wesson Cooking Oil. So silly Cindy took it school for show and tell but the teacher confiscated the box and took it too the principal's office. All the students around the campus were laughing but they never told us what was so funny. All I know is that for months afterwards, whenever one of us Brady kids would walk into a classroom, all the kids, in perfect unison, would burst into song-----singing: " The chicken's got a certain.... Wessonality" Then they would all fall to the floor from laughing so hard. We never understood that. Those kids were WEIRD!
@@bluerain3681 Yeah, you are right. Also It reminded me of The Kids Of Degrassi Street, when Ingrid Clayton, Jeffrey's Sister went into their Father's Office and ruined all of the Papers. They were Tax Return Files for all of his Clients and he was working overtime to do The Taxes of Clients. Poor Jeffrey had to spend about an Hour reorganizing The Office and lost an Hour's time in terms of doing Homework.
Here's another fun fact that blew me away. Susan Oleson wore "Curls" because she was a big fan of Anissa Jones who played Buffy on Family Affair. Eve Plumb & Robert Reed also guest starred on The Show as well.

Sure I was always out late and long weekends because I gave back to the community with the boy scouts and the YMCA. But your mother and I loved each other. Poor Alice, even though it's late she's still "Working". Also I would be a bit peeved at Marcia especially when you consider he ran late helping Marcia with her Math Homework.
But she did not get punished in this episode (Father of the Year). It was Marcia. After Marcia was up past her bedtime, she failed to do the extra chores Mike and Alice provided for her (feeding Tiger, sweeping the front porch, and taking out the trash). That is what got Marcia grounded for a week. And finally, she mailed the letter the night after that by sneaking out the window. When Mike said that the family was going snow skiing for a family trip, Marcia was not invited.
I remembered Marcia’s turquoise and white striped top and pink jeans 👖 in this Brady Bunch episode Father Of The Year especially when Mike’s getting ready to leave for a late business meeting, Daddy! Daddy! Marcia got in trouble especially when she’s snuck out in the middle of the night, to mail her essay since it had to be mailed by 🕛. Especially when everyone’s except her is going skiing ⛷. Jennydebrier.
That sounds like Herb Alpert playing some DeVol. The "wise man " saying takes a lot of vodka to actually work, sorry to say. Could always appreciate Mike getting that glare !
I've always thought The Brady Bunch should have done an episode or an arc about the kids getting comfortable with calling their new step-parents "Mom" and "Dad". This was never really explored--in the pilot, the girls call Mike "Mike" and the boys call Carol "Carol" and then by the next episode they've already completely switched to "Dad" and "Mom".
I should have just blamed it all on Jan. No one would have believed her and I would have gotten away it. I'm just so happy and blessed that I was born Marcia Marcia Marcia.
Were Mr and Mrs Brady widowed or divorced before they married each other? And what was Mrs Brady’s and her daughter’s last name before she married Mr Brady?
Their "problems" are so small and insignificant compared to real life. Even in the 70,s my brother and sister laughed at how goofy the Brady's were compared to what we as kids the same age were dealing with.
A good reason isnt a reason to not do a good thing. The good thing was to be good and follow the rules. See if we dont do the good thing we arnt doing a good thing when we are trying to do a good thing. Now I hope you learned a lesson here.
@@kristincook2296 We Brady's dont value recognition over rules. Not to mention I had my handgun and booze in the den. Now had Marcia gotten hold of those, well I wouldn't of been a very good father.
