The Bravery is an American rock band from New York City that consists of Sam Endicott, John Conway, Anthony Burulcich, Michael Zakarin, and Mike Hindert. Their music is a synthesis of indie rock and electronica. Their music has reached the top ten in the United States and the top five in the United Kingdom. Forming in 2003 The Bravery quickly garnered local interest through their energetic live shows, before exploding worldwide with the release of their self-produced eponymous debut album of unabashedly rapturous new wave pop trash - featuring "An Honest Mistake" as well as "Unconditional" and "Fearless".

He needs some better in-ears, probably can't hear himself

Yeah he's either not projecting right for this song, or he can't hear himself, because of how The Ocean is a much quieter song vocally than most of what Sam sings. I think it's highly likely that his in ear monitors are not working well at his volume, because when he gets louder, he sounds a lot more normal for what he usually does on this song.

Well, it doesn't help that they substituted the sound of acoustic guitar and violas with just generic bass and drum beats. The album version is a lot more somber and introspective due to the pacing and instrument choice. It's also why I prefer the Gary Jules cover of Mad World over the original, and the original version of Last Kiss by The Cavaliers over the Pearl Jam cover. There are times in rock when the background sounds drown out the melody, especially during live shows. Which is why I generally dislike live versions of any song besides instrumental metal and classical.

Al principio cuando desafina he cabado un hole in the earth y me he metido un poco death, luego se va recuperando y cantando mejor Con lo temazo que es y que empiece cantando como yo en el karaoke, luego la parte más instrumental me falta con una banda sinfonica
