After a decade i found out why it sounds like that. Because the audio is supposed to be Stereo, but it got compressed to Mono. Try changing your device's setting to mono audio and you'll get to relive Brutal Doom again
+Antonio Brother But Disfiguring the Goddess is so dark it lacks almost any kind of melody (even less than Architects or Suicide Silence), which these don't and that's what makes them fucking good. "Between Levels" kicks so much ass it's a wonder it wasn't jailed yet!
Want to compliment the Countdown track. Honestly surprised myself how jumpy I got with that track in the background. The fact I was having a round of insomnia and it was 3 in the morning didn't help either, I'm sure.
Man, I can't begin to express how much I freaking love your cover of Between Levels Is asking for the tabs too much? Could you at least tell me what tuning it's in? Playing this is surely a blast
You really did make this? Did you use real instruments OR do you have programs? If you made this using programs what are all the programs you used to make these incredible songs?
All three songs are sequenced in all aspects from drums to guitars, velocities and so forth programmed to sound as real as I was capable of at the time I made them, even to a point of composing the arrangement to be playable with actual instruments for added realism. Renoise is the DAW and the virtual instruments are Superior Drummer 2 + Metal Foundry Expansion, Impact Soundworks Shreddage 2, Scarbee Pre-bass, Miroslav Philharmonik. There are a few others too but these are the main ones of note in these tracks. Also, for the guitar and bass, an amp/cabinet simulator VST such as Guitar Rig or PodFarm is necessary to get a good tone. It can nowadays be done natively in Renoise 3 with a little extra effort. c: Thanks for the kind words!
Superior Drummer 2 with the Metal Foundry expansion, yes. Guitars are Electri6ity and Shreddage 2 as well as Scarbee Pre-bass. Orchestrals and electro elements are varied, usually EWQL Symphonic Orchestra, Miroslav Philharmonik, Nexus 2, Massive, Absynth, etc... Lots of stuff, depending on what I aim to create. c:
Badass song, very good job! And I hear you have improved in mixing after this. I can hear the bass is too loud in this and that it is clipping in the drums. A bit overkill on reverb too.
Yeah, the reverb is there in the Stalk track to match the original but mixing definitely took a hit in Between Levels. The Kick and bass together must be swelling up a certain frequency-range and coupled with loudness on the master it's a speaker-crunching clusterfuck at times. :3
Good lord man. This sounds like some unreleased Pantera song. These groove metal (I assume) riffs are so fucking badass! Hell, my earbuds are fucking quaking with each riff.
do you plan to clean these songs up anytime soon? you know because of the clipping etc. if no i would more than happy to do so because i love these songs but i would need the stems before mastering could you help me out?
Yeah, I made a new Doom project called "Devil's Lament" a while back and I'm also working in a handful of electronic genres. Thanks for the interest! c:
Goddamit man. I was playing the demonfear mod with project brutality and plugged doom metal iv into my launcher. goddamit man. your work on level 2 "the healer stalks" just blew my mind... along with zombies. fellow metal fan and producer here. ilove your fuckin work!
Doom Metal Pack brought me here! Loving it. I'm currently using two of these songs for a Metal Pack I'm creating for TNT: Evilution (MAP 19 and MAP 24)
Will do any remixes for The Plutonia Experiment (pretty much same songs as Doom , Doom 2 except a few new songs) or TNT: Evilution (please remake the song for the stage "Habitat =) cuz the drums are cool there and your drums are freakin good!) I also would love to see you do a live cover of these songs!
I dunno, man, but I'm outlining a remix of that track much like "Monument of Non-Existence" and "Seed of Perdition". So theres that to look forward to. c:
It's all sequenced with VST instruments, DSP effects and so on. The DAW I use to arrange is Renoise, and mastering and final edits are done in Audition. Regrettably theres some clipping in Between Levels on this youtube submission but get it with the NG link and its fine.
Wow... Have you thought on making versions of Shawn's Got The Shotgun "Doom II OST - Map 7,19,29 - Shawn's Got The Shotgun" And Getting Too Tense? "Doom II OST - Map 28 - Getting Too Tense"
do you still remember the tuning for Between Levels and Countdown to Death? I've been wanting to try and play those two but I can't find the right tuning for them
Between Levels is in the key of A, Countdown plays in the key of B. Since these are VST guitars saying which tuning my virtual instruments are in is kind of a moot point, but I would say you want a 7 string, or alternatively you shift strings on a 6 so you have a thicker lower tone on the first one (basically a 7-string minus the high E string at the end). Not sure how happy a normal 6-string is about having this done to it so you know, experiment on a cheap one? In terms of playing the riffs, I think a 7-string has it's lowest at B, right? So drop-A at least, maybe tuning the whole thing down to A and going drop G so you can have some leeway downwards too and still do powerchords easily. I usually write riffs in that low A with at least two semitones available below. Honestly where I'm at nowadays, you might as well have an 8th string involved so the tone gets a bit tighter. Anyway, whatever, I'm going offroad answering you. So the keys for the songs are A and B respectively. From there the riffs themselves are pretty straight forward. Countdown pulls a bit of a sneaky one by starting on the fifth in the key of B (F#) and then just adding the B once the song kicks off which creates a powerchord.
@@Lashmush thank you very much for the instant reply ^^ i did tune my strat to drop B but i was skeptical about it. thank you again :D btw, these three music you've made are my top favorites from the brutal doom mod. it's just so good
It took me sometime to figure out the name of the song in Brutal Doom Metal soundtrack: Between Levels is awesome! So much power! The drums are awesome! Thank you for composing this remix!
After listening to several other versions of the songs in this video, I have concluded, in a very scientific manner, that these are indeed the best, most badass, most metal, and most amazing versions of these songs ever made by man.
Ah, finally found the right person. All three of these tracks are spot on and suit Brutal Doom to a tee; and the quiet breaks in Countdown To Death always catch me out and make me smile. I know it's been asked before, but are there any plans to clean up Between Levels a bit to sort out what I can only describe as the drums 'blowing out' (and possibly some OTT bass, same effect) or are there just not enough hours in the day? Don't take that as a stick in the eye, good sir - these are cracking reworkings of good tunes that suit the assigned game perfectly, and you should be well chuffed with 'em!
Yeah, I still pop this vid in the background when doing things that require me to be more vicious and nasty. You know, like when I was teaching myself MySQL last week.
