It has been a while since I've played some American tunes! Here is "The Bus Stop" and "Catharsis" + a fun drum backing track. I hope you like them! ^_^
Bus Stop is a tune written by Anita Anderson, and Catharsis is a tune written by Amy Cann. I think both tunes are American, but I've heard one person say they think Catharsis is a Canadian tune. Wherever they originate from, they are cool tunes, and they are fairly popular in the fiddle tune world! They are also new tunes written within the last few decades. : D
Bus Stop is a fairly straight-forward tune to learn how to play. Catharsis is a little tricky with its B part, but it's not too hard. =) I've been asked a lot for a Catharsis Tutorial, so I will work on that soon. I have a lot of tutorials to work on...
I get asked to play these two tunes a lot in real life, so I thought I'd make a video with them. The B part of Bus Stop tends to make me think of a chicken more than a bus...lol! I think it's the E to A note part that repeats a lot -- it reminds me of a chicken squawking. I like chickens though, so I think it's a good thing. ^_^ I've played these tunes in a concert once with some session friends! It was a fun day! : D
It started to rain!! Gaah! T_T All sorts of annoying things happen whenever I try to film -- even a little raindrop wanted to be in the video lol! The rain held off long enough to squeeze a video in without getting my violin wet, so all is well. =)
