I mean it was kinda a technicality, wouldn’t really see that as a bad thing considering he was a sperm donor. Although for the first like 10 seconds before he said he was a sperm donor I was like wtf is wrong with this guy 💀
@sophiao43 I agree, but she was like that with all of the guys? Like she was so excited and happy to be able to reject all of them but got so fucking mad when they did the same and then insulted them and shit?

i don't think cody realized how weird the conversation between jenita and joaquin was. the "to another planet" bit was a little odd but could've just been him saying he's gonna be in a totally different place had he not immediately dug in his heels with every following comment -- "i'm holding back from saying some wacky stuff" and "you can't even shake a woman's hand in that part of the planet, did you know that?" he clearly didn't pick up her background right from the start and she had that awkward experience of being the Other the person is describing in Othering terms right to your face. and then when she did say she's from an islamic family, he immediately goes in on "so OUR realm is a bit different from other realms." that's classic us/them dichotomy and i don't blame her at all for being weirded out or upset by it. especially when he tries to follow it up by saying he's only dated "international, foreign women" -- lowkey fetishizing given the stuff he's just said. gross.

this has to be one of the most insane episodes of all time. usually im thinking "yeah there are definitely white claws in that break room" but today im thinking "there is a gas leak in the studio"
the fact that her first thought about donating sperm is "overpopulation" instead of giving someone the ability to become parents who can't on their own really says a lot
Exactly. She was completely judgemental, with the judgement based on untruths. She had 2 choices to go with: Creator of Life vs Destroyer of Planets. Where her personal judgement landed on those 2 narratives was crystal clear. And, with no middle ground or inquiry behind the reasoning of his choice. Then, she slandered him to the other women based upon her own beliefs. Seems a bit narcissistic. Not only was she judgemental and slanderous, she didn’t seem well educated on her final judgement; seeing that one of the greatest threats facing the future of humanity is actually de-population and population collapse; in combination with the aging population, worker shortages, mass abortions, and the decelerating birth rates. This guy wasn’t aborting 50 babies, he was giving life to 50! Maybe one (or some) of them will actually help save the planet. She was judgemental by nature, self righteous, slanderous, not the brightest bulb in the lighting department, and (at best) a 2 out of 10 in the looks department on a really, really good day. She talks about overpopulation, but clearly has the diet and carbon footprint of at least 2 people; and if she isn’t careful, will be a burden on the system herself, as she ages. In some regards, her judgement comes across as rather hypocritical. Perhaps one day she will need to rely on one of those 50 babies to take care of her in the hospice or nursing home, when she can no longer walk or do things for herself. Plus, she tried to sabotage him with the other contestants based on her own prejudices. She’s awful; the type who acts sweet to your face, and then destroys you in private behind your back. He clearly dodged a bullet in just about every category, by beating her to the button.
@@demarkahlil2124 Exactly. And, she likely never will. Her judgmental nature is textbook ‘emotions over facts’. And, emotions will continue to further cloud her judgement without the voices of reason and logic.

OMG YAAAAASSS! He was low key calling her dumb because she didn't know how to spell his name... kind of a dick, especially since he couldn't spell hers either
This is exactly how I describe such behavior. Literally texted a guy and said I wasn't interested in hanging out and he responded with three long-winded texts about how he wasn't going to pursue me anymore anyway.. but let him know if I became interested again. 🙄
At first, i could kind of see where Joaquin was coming from, in that maybe he used the wrong words, but paired with how he refused to leave after being hit by the button and still try to defend himself, and afterwards ranting about it with the other guys... no, Jen had it right. He is a walking red flag.
The subtext of the conversation between Joaquin and Jenita blew over Cody’s head, unfortunately. From the condescending “you’re so beautiful” to calling the middle east “another planet” to listing all the different “foreign women” he’s dated. Ick after ick after ick. Jenita handled him and the other gross guy amazingly though. ❤
she handled that better than i could've imagine like holy shit. to see someone get treated and talked to like that and still maintain their composure is wild to me
It does feel like visiting another planet when you fly to somewhere in the world where the culture, the architecture, the people and the climate are totally different. Nothing wrong with that statement imo. His other comments suggest he’s a massive asshole, though.
@@alexd4566 Although I agree with this, I was put off by his comment because he claims to be a journalist and to have recently learned that "men and women can't even shake hands there". Yeah that's not a thing in 99% of the Middle East. It's a fair claim to say it's a "different world", especially since western media is very picky when it comes to world news, but yeah it was a very pejoratively-American moment.
@@alexd4566 I appreciate you trying to word what he said in a more positive light. But the “another planet” comment with the “I’m holding back from saying some wacky stuff” with “did you know you can’t even shake a woman’s hand over there?!” with “OUR realm and their realm” makes it seem like he views people from the Middle East as if they are backwards aliens. Very much us vs them dichotomy. Ofc we’ve only been shown a short clip of him but every time he doubled down, he just made it worse. Imma trust Jenita’s judgment on this one.
Yeah, exactly, before Cody started reacting these I couldn’t watch the button because I felt so anxious and uncomfortable lol! Thanks for making this show palatable Cody!
Jen is gorgeous and was a lot more patient than she needed to be. I also understand her frustration with the whole Middle-East comment. Being from there myself, I get my fair share of passive aggressiveness and willful ignorance. Joaquin could have definitely worded his sentences better if he meant to speak with good intentions, however, that was clearly not the case.
Hard disagree, im not saying she isnt but i dont think she showcased that in her interaction. The other guy definitely seemed like a tool im not mad at her giving him pushback, but I don’t think she understands the phrase “its like another planet/world”. Like im Mexican and going from Guanajuato to the midwest really did feel like that the first time I went. That doesn’t mean either place is inferior or anything, just different. The fucking audacity of Joaquin to patronizingly say "Aww, you're so beautiful" to Jenita after she misspelled his name even though she TOLD him Jen was spelled J-e-n and he STILL tried to spell Jenita with J-i-n
His name could have been something as relatively common and easy to spell as Tim...still wouldn't have made it okay for him to belittle her for misspelling it.

Jenita perfectly felt the vibe of that journalist guy. “Did you know you cant even shake a womens hand over there?!”, like it definitely felt like he was calling their culture alien and weird. It wasn’t like a “i wanna learn more” vibe
Also, she was right to tell him to educate himself more. He said he’s going to the Middle East but the Middle East is a big region with many countries. He never said which country he was traveling to and he lumped the whole Middle East into one bubble. Not every country in the Middle East is the same and there are so many different cultures and religions there too. He sounded so ignorant.
The first guy Jen spoke to was totally speaking out of his ass while saying ''you can't even shake a women's hand in the middle east'' That's the most stereotypical shit I've ever heard. Jen had every right to take offense to that especially since she grew up in an Islamic family.

The middle east contains the majority of true theocratic nations in the world. If you look into the practices from oil-backed princes to local villages, they truly are a world apart from what goes on in the US. A certain religion has a stranglehold on NE Africa and the Middle East.
No. As someone who has ancestry from outside the US, it is indeed a very different world in some parts. The real 'white savior' mentality is denying issues that exist in other places just cause you don't want to 'hurt' them.
