We heard your requests! You wanted to see a tiered cake take abuse in a CakeSafe. Here is a 4 tiered cake. We spent four hours driving it around town and putting it through lots of abuse. The cake was protected perfectly!

If you’re reading this and wondering if this is worth the hype…it truly is. It has removed every ounce of worry during deliveries. I cannot say enough good things about it. It was an investment because it is pricy but I’m so glad I purchased it. It is worth every dollar. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for creating such a wonderful product!

Your comment made our day! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Much of the time people think it's too good to be true, so it helps immensely to hear from people who own CakeSafe Boxes. Thank you again! - Rachel

This is absolutely amazing and my husband and I feel like it's worth the investment. I have a huge question though.... I have only done 3tiered cakes so far and I usually put a long dowel down the center to keep the cake sturdy. How would you be able to have a dowel through the center if the cake safe box also has the rod down the center? Do you just not have to put a dowel down the center? I hope that makes sense. Thank you so much for this video.

Is there a cap to put on the tip of the rod after it goes through the cake? I feel like the tip will be a germ collector while it's sticking out the bottom of the box and then you have to pull that back up through your cake and spread the germs as you go...
@CakeSafeLLC
@CakeSafeLLC 6 месяцев назад
Thanks for the question! We recommend keeping those individually packaged alcohol wipes in your cake kit. Just give the tip a wipe before removing the cake from the CakeSafe. And to put your mind at ease, the tip of the rod is only exposed to air, it will not touch any surfaces because it does not extend past the feet. Before the CakeSafe was invented, bakers typically delivered tiered cakes in cardboard boxes with the top open. The entire cake was exposed to air. Our customers love that the cake is not only sealed off from dust, rain, pollen blowing in the wind, but that it's also kept cool with the insulated side panels. If you think of any other questions don't hesitate to reach out. You'll get the quickest response if you email info@cakesafe.com or text 401-378-8766. Thanks so much!

Hi there! Thank you for your question! The cake in this video is buttercream, but the CakeSafe Box works just as well for fondant cakes. You can fly with a cake in a CakeSafe checked as baggage. We have done it many times. Here's a video showing one of the times we did it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q4mLXe_uoX0.html If you want to fly a cake in a CakeSafe, email info@cakesafe.com. Marissa will give the directions as well as signage to print out and stick on your CakeSafe. We are here to answer any of your questions.

After you remove the cake safe center stick. Do you still put a dowel in the middle after/when it is already displayed at the venue? 🤔
@CakeSafeLLC
@CakeSafeLLC 3 года назад
We recommend reinserting a precut wooden dowel if the cake will be on the dance floor. You can always do it for peace of mind, if it’s not necessary. The cakesafe center rod is the last thing removed once the cake is safe on the display table. It comes with full instructions.

Here’s a short clip of taking the rod out. It’s very easy and will not cause any damage. The rod is the last thing removed once your cake is safely on the display table. Hello! Does this work with fruit filling and whipped cream frosting?
@CakeSafeLLC
@CakeSafeLLC 3 года назад
Hi Joanna, Yes, The CakeSafe will work with whipped cream and fruit filling. Just be sure your cake is refrigerated overnight before you put it in the CakeSafe for delivery. If your refrigerator is large enough, you could put the cake in the CakeSafe and put it the whole thing in the fridge, but no problem if that won't work for you. You won't want to travel for days at a time with a fruit filled cake, like people do with buttercream and ganache cakes in their CakeSafe, but it will be fine if your venue is a couple of hours away. I'd recommend placing a blanket on top of the CakeSafe for a little extra insulation too! My direct email is CakeSafeRachel@gmail.com if you have any other questions. Warmly, Rachel

You didn't put center dowels in cake during set up???
@CakeSafeLLC
@CakeSafeLLC 6 лет назад
Exactly! The CakeSafe's center rod IS your center dowel. The only time you need a center dowel is when you're moving your cake. And the entire time your cake is moving, it is in the CakeSafe. The center rod is the last thing you remove after your cake is on the display table. Venue staff love CakeSafe deliveries. They don't have to navigate a center dowel when cutting and serving the cake. If you think the wedding or event will be very rowdy, and people might bump into the cake table, you can always insert a center dowel after you remove the CakeSafe's center rod. Let me know if you have any other questions! :) - Rachel

@@CakeSafeLLC Do you use any other supports in each tier? Such as straws or small dowels? Or absolutely nothing in the cake besides the rod during delivery?
@sweetartcakes

I just purchase one and I am excited to use it. Question: For your cake in the video I did not see any dowels going through the tiers? Also, to move the cake to the cake table from the box I leave the dowel in until it is on the table and than pull it out? Thank you
@CakeSafeLLC
@CakeSafeLLC Год назад
Great questions! And thank you for your support. You want to dowel the perimeter of the tiers like you normally would, but leave out your center dowel because the CakeSafe's center rod will become your center dowel. And yes, you're right. Leave the center rod in the cake until you get the cake to the display table, then twist it out. There are full directions with color photos that come with your CakeSafe purchase. If you have any other questions my direct email is CakeSafeRachel@gmail.com. Thanks again!!

You will have to make your cake super thick and not moist at all to survive all that movement lol.
@CakeSafeLLC
@CakeSafeLLC 2 года назад
Not at all! The magic of the CakeSafe is that the center rod is sharp and makes its own hole in the cake boards between tiers. It’s the cardboard that keeps it so stable. You can use a CakeSafe with the lightest, fluffiest, and very moist cakes. Check out the reviews and testimonials on our website. You don’t need to change a thing about your recipes or cake assembly when using a CakeSafe, except leaving out your center dowel since the CakeSafe center rod replaces it. Feel free to email me directly if you have any questions. CakeSafeRachel@gmail.com. Thanks so much!

Would these work well, when driving up steep hills and sharp turns?

Absolutely! Your CakeSafe will protect cakes on steep mountaintop drives with sharp turns. CakeSafe boxes are popular all over the world, but especially in areas with venues on mountaintops. One of our customers comes to mind who takes a snowcat to the top of the mountain to deliver her cakes. If you have any questions, my direct email is CakeSafeRachel@gmail.com. We also have a Facebook Group called CakeSafe Crusaders where you can see the deliveries directly from our customers, and ask questions.

I have 2 questions. 1. I usually use a 1/2" thick cake drum under my tiered cakes. Sometimes the drum is styrofoam, sometimes cardboard, and sometimes wood. Will the center rod go through these easily or should I pre-drill a hole? 2. When do you expect to have the medium tall cake safe boxes back in stock? Thank you!
@CakeSafeLLC
@CakeSafeLLC 3 года назад
Hi Olivia! Great questions. The center rod will go through your 1/2 inch thick styrofoam and cardboard cake drums, but will not go through your wooden cake drums. You will need to pre-drill a 2 inch hole in the wooden drums. We recommend 2 inches so you don't have to worry about exactly centering your cake in the CakeSafe to hit the hole. Your CakeSafe Box will also come with full instructions on how to use any thickness and material cake drums. If you think of any other questions about this, my direct email is CakeSafeRachel@gmail.com. We are hoping to have the Medium/Tall CakeSafes back in stock in 2 weeks. We are waiting for side panel material to be delivered so we can make the larger sized walls. If you are in a rush we may have 1 Medium/Tall held back in case someone is in dire need. If you'd like to buy that one, email Marissa at info@cakesafe.com. Thanks so much! Rachel

I'm so happy all went well!! And yes, talk about expensive cake boxes! We have a chart on our website comparing the cost of 100 cake deliveries in a cardboard box versus in a CakeSafe. The cost for 100 cardboard boxes is astronomical! We're big on saving the environment too, so it makes us feel great to make a reusable alternative.

Do you have to cut a hole in the middle of each cake board for the long silver stem to go in easier?
@CakeSafeLLC
@CakeSafeLLC 4 года назад
Great question! The magic of the CakeSafe keeping your cake so stable and secure is that the center rod makes it's own hole through all your cake boards. It's sharp! So you do not want to cut a hole in the middle of the cake boards. You'll assemble as usual, doweling around the perimeter, but leave out the center dowel, because the CakeSafe center rod becomes your center dowel. Each CakeSafe comes with full instructions and we're always happy to help if you email info@cakesafe.com or call/text 401-378-8766. Thanks! Rachel
