I did this trail June 2022, it was a blast. I’m probably one of the few that take a crew cab diesel truck too 😂 we ran into some bikers and they were like no way you’ll make it 👀 proved them wrong and took mine and my dads tundra through it. Definitely gonna be doing some of these other trails in VA you have posted 🤘🏻
Last time I drove the Loop Road was in a Chevy ZR2 Blazer! It looked similar but the water was much deeper as there had been a heavy rain prior to turning colder and snowing. Time to go back in the Wrangler!
Yep, I'd say it's time to get back out there! Those ZR2s were no slouches off road! That old 4.3 V6 was a solid motor. Same bore and stroke as the SBC 350s!!
While I understand and respect your perspective, many people (myself included) enjoy the solitude of being alone, and out of contact. Knowing the limits of your vehicle and yourself are paramount. While there's no way to eliminate the risk involved, ultimately it's up to oneself to accept or reject that risk. In the nearly 20 years that I've been doing this in some form or fashion, I've faced the consequences of my choices on more than one occasion. To me, the reward continues to outweigh the risk. Statistically, going to work is far riskier for me.
Thanks! It's even more of a challenge to make something interesting when I'm rolling solo, but I try! Galileo (yes, I named my drone!) came out of it with only cracked propeller blades.
