This trip has been my favorite, so far. We are so glad that we all decided to stay the extra day. The “short cut” was the best trail of the trip and getting into and out of the last campsite was the most technical driving I have done Thanks again for allowing us to be part of this adventure.
I just wanted to compliment you both on creating such wonderful content while sharing your Overlanding adventures. I have been watching a lot of channels that are mostly west coast based and it has been great to see your wonderful trips in the Eastern part of the US. Living in NY, I sometimes wonder if Overlanding in the East is really possible, but you have shared some wonderful trips that make me excited to plan forward. Lastly, its great to see how you have kept the content very on point on what we all look forward to in our adventures as many other have turned in to commercial productions or call it another wish list of expensive gear reviews. I understand that you need to pay the bills, but keep up the great work and never forget what truly makes you happy.
@JrKing I couldn’t agree more! Bill and Deb have remained true to their mission of providing quality footage and narration of the adventures. Many channels have turned into commercials or a transparent solicitation for funds . Lora and I are blessed to be able to call such genuine and humble people friends.
Thank you very much for the awesome compliment. We are and always will be just us doing what we love. Sharing our adventures with great friends make it even better!
My wife and i have always had this outdoor connection, and we're camp, and done little off road adventure, but nothing compared to the way you guys do, I pray that someday we can go on a road adventure trip with you guys, till then, I pray safe travels for you guys. God bless.

I did a solo overland trip through much of the route you took in part 1 and 2 this past summer. My little nissan Xterra with 33s handled everything the route threw at me surprisingly well. a locking diff and deflated tires makes a big difference. Speaking of and correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like you don't deflate your tires much, if at all. Any reason why? I was absolutely blown away at the difference in the ride quality and increase in traction when I first deflated my tires. If you ever plan on going back, I recommend Long Run Road off of route 612. The trailhead begins next to Gospel Hill Mennonite Church. I went to college in Shenandoah valley and spent a lot of time in those hills. There's a really fun down and back trail across some powerlines with great views, and lots of other trails you could spend all day exploring. Great video, thanks for sharing your journey
Thanks for watching. We were aired down to I think 20psi. You're right it does make a huge difference in the ride. Our tires are 10ply so they don't look like a 2 or 4 ply tire at the same pressure. Thanks for the recommendation on the trails too
Another great video. I have been lucky to have visited Dunkle Hollow and Flagpole knob. Virginia and West Va are very beautiful! You always show me something I missed!
Nice Job on the video! I just revisited that part of the country as well... I took my grandfather and our new van.. I should have videos up soon... Keep up the good work!
Dolly Sods opens mid April.. Looked like it was close.. But I really enjoy your videos. I hope you all come back and check out the Sods.. you won't be disappointed.
Always enjoy your videos. You guys inspired me/wife/in-laws to use our Jeeps for something besides commuting. We went out on our first real off-road trip on Sunday to Flag Pole Knob and Meadow Knob continuing down to Union Springs Road. It was a bit more than I had anticipated being in stock JKs but turned out great and then got home and watched this video... Fantastic! Looking forward to the content from your trip out west.
That is great area. We are glad to hear you all are getting out and enjoying your jeeps. We are looking forward to our west too! Thank you for watching!
Here it is 5:15 my home away from home for many years. I was hoping you would stop by. There was a horrendous flood in 1985. Cheat River and most of the roads and homes in the lower areas were washed away. It was very saddening to see it. Regards from Ody Slim
I keep saving your videos....my gosh... they are giving me wanderlust. I live in Winchester Va, so these are close to me!! I just gotta figure out how to find those trails!!
I've climbed at Seneca Rocks. It's pretty awesome. Just north of there right near a trout fishery a natural spring comes right out of the mountain. I can't remember what road it's on though.
I really enjoy watching your overland trips and all the great scenery. I partiularly appreciate the voice overs because sometimes live audio can be a problem. Could you include text on the screen explaining where you are such as the forest road # etc. Looking forward to the outwest trip. Also enjoyed the senior couple in other eppesodes in red jeep.
Hello again. Do you disconnect the rear sway bars as well as the front? And your friend in the silver Sahara do he have lockers? He has the same jeep as mine including the color, lol. Oh and what roof racks do you both use? His looks different. Thanks again for you input and your videos. God Bless.
You folks took five days, but with my photography interest I think I’d be at least a couple of weeks, perhaps more as it’s so different than our Southern Arizona scenery. Water crossings must be an East coast thing as I’ve not seen many out here, then again we don’t have nearly the amount of rainfall.
First off, it's a really cool video and inspiring to a beginner overlander. I was hoping to do my first weekend overlanding trip in my 4runner. Would you recommend this trail to a 1st timmer? I live in Northen VA so this is fairly close. Appreciate it!
Really glad I stumbled upon this cause we're passing through the area this weekend and want to squeeze in the Canaan Loop trail but can't seem to find any maps of it. What I do find are pieces of it, and it seems to be labeled under several different names. Have any recommendations & what do you use for navigation? Thanks in advance - Oh, and what the heck is a coddiwomple?
Canaan loop road shows up if you search for it on Google maps or in the Gaia app. Coddiwomple means to wonder aimlessly towards an unknown destination. Thanks for watching!
Videos are always a joy to watch, can;t wait to get back out on more trails here soon. Could I make a suggestion for video editing? It seems that in every video you have the same soundtrack with the humming, maybe try changing it up? - Tyler
Love the vids! I have been researching monongahela and was wondering if you could tell me exactly where the road is at around the 11:00 mark. Is it "Dunkle Hollow Road"?
