One thing that scolars seem to overlook is that in the time referenced in the Bible, Egypt extended well into the Levant. So it's entirely possible that they could have been in Egypt and Canaan simultaneously.

Good documentary. Still not sure about a plurality of arcangels. The Bible only seems to recognise Michael as arcangel, implying having a status of ruling over the other angels. This picture obviously becomes more complex if you include the Book of Enoch, which is in the Ethiopian canon.

They didn't do any research on this. Elohim is a plural term that LITERALLY means the powerful ones. Yahweh isn't GOD the creator. Which is why he demanded blood sacrifices and was a violent entity. Yes. Technically by the rules of "Higher Criticism" much of your post is probably right. When the Hebrews were removed to Babalon a lot of documents and maybe parts of the Pentateuch were lost. The scribes had to construct a lot of the text from memory. Some of the text was corrupted. That is guessing and speculation but if is close to the known history. Why the conflict ? The British who ruled India for two hundred years did the same horrible mess with Sanskrit names. Coming back to your video, the name MOT, is still used in Hindi, derived from Arabic, pronounced MOTH as in the insect, means death. The mess is because English does not know how to transliterate the letter T. You mentioned the twin Gods Shalim and Shahar. You pronounced Shalim as Shay-lim. Whereas it was likely pronounced Shaa-lim. Or maybe Sha-lim. Could the word Shalom have been derived from Shalim? Oh, and the name Jerusalem. The use of "J" as in Jerusalem and Jesus are from a German mistranslation, are they not? Isn't Jerusalem really Yaa-roo-shaleem? Isn't "Joshua" derived from Ya-ho-shua?

Any reading of the Bible makes it clear that the Israelites believed that there were many gods. It was not so much that they believed there was only 1 God, rather that their God was the best and the only 1 to be worshipped. This video does a good needed job at highlighting the possible connections between the ancient biblical religion and other surrounding religions and cultures, but many of these connections and interactions are often not well understood, or leading to confusion. Moses and his followers established the monotheistic character of the ancient biblical religion, but in the following centuries this religion oscillated between monotheism, henotheism, monolatry and polytheism, under the influence of surrounding ideas and religions. The chief god Baal of the Canaanites and the Phoenicians was identified with or the equivalent of Zeus and Jupiter. He was also the same supreme god as the chief gods of other pantheons, such as Amun-Ra of Egypt and Marduk of Mesopotamia, with small differences in the attributes and functions of these deities. The chief Hindu god Indra has many characteristics in common with Zeus. Another example of a common narrative among ancient religions was the great flood story, which in the bible was given a monotheistic interpretation and was borrowed, inspired or taken from earlier stories in surrounding ancient religions and cultures. The story of the flood and the ark or ship was transmitted, retransmitted, modified with time, with embellishments, allegorical elements and dramatizations added to it, but it was very likely rooted in history. I’m never gonna understand why y’all don’t go straight to the Sumerian texts. They came first. All these biblical writings are based on the Sumerian texts, Dead Sea scrolls, nah Hammadi, atrahasis, and Enuma Elish. They were not religious teachings but mere written accounts for the sake of historical record. They ALL PREDATE ANY BIBLICAL TEACHINGS. You cannot get a full innerstanding without knowing this information. However , no Christian even wants to touch the subject. If your studies are limited to just the old and New Testaments, you’re not getting the entire story.
