Sorry to hear of your troubles. We met very briefly in FW after I and others, had finished the WHW and before I started the GG. You had just had to replace your Garmin reach I think. Interesting about the Waverley, she has just completed her visit to the Bristol Channel. amongst other places, Ilfracombe was one of her ports of call. Lovely story. Wondered what you picked up to cause the food poisoning? The estate managers name is Alistair. Will be passing Corryhully Bothy soon so will see if your swinging chair is still in situ. Hope to see you on the Cape trail again. Its addictive (done it 3 times) but will not be doing it in Winter.
Cheers mate. Three times! Epic! You might The record for number of times completed. :) The trip coincided with an ecoli outbreak in the UK, symptoms lasted almost 3 weeks... So seems likely? Another hiker I met in Fort William had similar experience. Hope you found the swinging chair!
