Join me hiking from Strath na Sealga (near Shenevall bothy), through Inverlael, a camp in a wild & windy glen, and then on to Loch Ailsh, near Benmore Lodge. Gorges, rain, bothies, rain, forest, rain, and the usual good humour.
Hope you enjoy it!
Sue

Brilliant Sue! The BEST one yet 👏Content, editing, music and narration are top drawer. Really like the use of the archive footage 😄That section of bog near Inverlael reminds me of the walk-in to Burnmoor. Looking forward to what looks like being a spectacular finale to your trip. 🤗

Wow, thanks Ian 🤗 I reckon we’ll both face a few more of those bogs yet, Meg will be getting her fur muddy 😂 The area has special memories, maybe it shows in the video. Very pleased you liked it 😃😃

Very impressive Sue those northern mountains definitely look so remote (that fishing hit looked great 👍) MOD will have to be worked around as you said 👌🏻 Looking forward to the North 🏔️🏔️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 ATB Simon

Thanks Simon 😄 the next day was the stuff of dreams.. If you’ve ever considered the CWT I can highly recommend it, granted we were ridiculously lucky with the weather 😁 TTFN! Sue

You had a nice plod on at the start there Sue. It must have been the epic scenery - no rushing through! I have to say Glen Douchary was my favorite stretch on this episode. The Ravine is one of them geological wonders that just draws us into its narrative. Awesome or gnarly as you said. A treat to come across the hut - if only you knew. Re-the military they're keeping you on your toes - adapt and overcome. Aint hiking brilliant? Yeah, it is. Good going. All the best. Mark

Hi Mark! We’ve never met but based on watching your videos I had a hunch that you would enjoy Glen Douchary 😊 In the meantime I have a trip down memory lane to take a look at, on the river Esk. Thanks as always, and as you often say - peace. Sue

@@FIVE-FOOTLyth Hey, one day we'll meet and I'll adventure with you guys. Yes, good intuition there - love them gnarly places. Ah, now that's brilliant - a river adventure. Who knows what that will unearth. A pleasure.

Enjoyed it. I didn’t think you were going to get up, out of your comfy sleeping bag, on the morning of the 10th day. You looked 😴. Some long days of hiking. Nice photo of you at the end of this video.

Awww, thanks Mick 🤗 Nice photos whilst being so grubby are few & far between, that was a photo from a day on An Teallach 😁 I could do the whole thing all over again. You were right when you said it takes some adjustment when you return home. Cheerio! 😁

Thanks Owen 😁 Yeah, 2008. It doesn’t feel that long ago, how time passes. My mantra is always to keep making new memories. Hope you’re having a good night, wherever you are. I’ll be tuning in 👍 Sue

So glad you guys went via Glen Douchary , a lot of people go via Ullapool and miss out the wilderness of the Glen . That certainly was a tough day 23miles . So enjoying watching the path I walked.

Thanks, yes I was determined not to go along the road to Ullapool, it was a great adventure & beautifully wild as you say. It’s great to hear from others who have done the trail too, keeps the memories alive. Thanks for the comments 🤗

Sue, if you and your husband ever want to come to the Rockies or Sierras let me know I can help with recommendations and planning. This year I am heading to Colorado and Utah in July then up to Wyoming and Montana in August and over to the Sierras in September. Fly out to Nepal in October. Best time to visit is mid-August to September.

WOW!! Thanks so much Martin, and yes we have lots of plans but especially the Rockies, I’ve wanted to visit since I was about 14. I visited Utah years ago and loved it, a day trip from Las Vegas (climbing trip to Red Rocks one Christmas). We’re heading to Switzerland for 2 & a half months on Wednesday, but keep in touch 😊 suelyth01@yahoo.co.uk TTFN! Sue

Another lovely video Sue. I might convince my mate Dave to do this with me when I retire, maybe sooner. When it's windy do you ever use earplugs to help sleep or would you prefer to hear if the tent is in trouble?
@FIVE-FOOTLyth
@FIVE-FOOTLyth 19 дней назад
Hi Duncan! I only use earplugs in a campsite or dorm. I like to hear everything otherwise. Hey, that’s great to hear of your plans & your upcoming retirement 👍 This trip was my first after retiring. Friday, last day at work, Monday, travel to Fort William. Very best wishes & a happy retirement!!
@martinclennon4640
@martinclennon4640 19 дней назад
consider bringing a couple pairs of ear plugs they don't weigh anything and you never know when they will come in handy. i can't sleep without ear plugs. :(

@@martinclennon4640 Hi Martin! Yes, maybe my swimming earplugs might have helped a bit.. I didn’t think to pack those but certainly they might have helped at times 🤦‍♀️ Luckily that was the only rough weather spell. There was a storm one night but it was early enough to just sit in the tent & enjoy it 😁
