The iconic blue-water brumby has just been reimagined by Edencraft. Called the Formula 255, she could well be the best-looking Formula ever made. But does she live up to the Formula moniker - and is she a fish raiser? MB01D4WIYQYLDMS
@@markuswilmes3694 i would disagree and say that the smuggler is probably more unstable as it runs 28 degree deadrise then possibly some of the cootacrafts. That is also why you see sea keepers going into veitch boats. 233s are also unstable but the compromise is comfort underway.
I preferred the look /style of the old 233 platinum great lines .i assume everyone chose the classic commercial look though . doesnt look quite right to my eye but maybe in person .Rides nice though
Have you been on a WP263?? If you are talking about ride quality bashing through hours head on sea and a confused swell with chop I'll be honest. In comparison my old WP243 was only "half" as good as my mates 233 in a head on sea, my WP243 would struggle to keep up. lm only assuming the newer WP263 with an extra 2ft would be only slightly 25% better than the WP243 in performance. But in a following sea IMO the WP243 potentially out preformed the 233, it was absolutely a dream to drive, best mono I've ever been in and driven in a following sea, no breaching, well balanced, ran directly as pointed. Also the WP243/263 will definitely sit better at rest all day and every day long no doubt, also you mates will have less chance of getting sea sick bottom bashing all day long. But if you want a mono with an aggressive deadrise, as Rodger Vietch says and recommends, you WILL need a gyro. Nothing mentioned about a gyro or even a compartment to put one in the 255 which I thought was strange, specially with that big, weighty, top heavy looking hardtop. The 263 with it's less deadrise than both the 255 and Vietch, a gyro is potentially not required therefore yes will be a shit tonne cheaper. Maybe a 263 would be way more cheaper than 200k by the time the gyro's get installed I would think. 🤔 Fit-out obviously the 255 is marketing the non commercial.
Half a million, lol, no way! Did you see how far it leaned over with a few guys on one side holding the marlin. Way better options for way less money. Over priced and over rated.
wow 500k for that. You can import a almost new Blackfin 252 for around 275k AUD or Grady White 25ft CC. I know where I would be putting my money at that level. Sorry guys AU boat prices are out of control.
Buying an optioned 25 foot Grady new here is ballpark around the same price, and the edencraft would be cheaper without twin 400s and the one of everything electronics package. I think new boats have just gone up a fck ton since the monetary policy and inflation that came after the dude ate the pangolin or bat and we all got paid to sit inside for three years dodging a sniffle. That said something like a Grady doesn’t “need a few tweaks”, they make so many of them and have done for so long the bugs are ironed out!
@@trogdortheburninator8149this will annoy some people but american boats are crap compared to aussie boats. They have high cog and rock heaps. Can only compare up to like 25ft boats.
@@webbey6479 prob depends on what you’re after. I think plenty of good Aussie cabin boats under 25 foot. In centre consoles in the 23 to 25 foot Americans definitely better and more offerings. I think the Veitch 23 the first decent looking local centre console I’ve seen other than the much smaller sea devil. I own an American boat, 33 feet, my second (last was 27 feet). Only had Aussie boats before that but all smaller (thus far have stepped up in size each time but unlikely to do that again next time). Definitely nothing locally made like what I have (proper bed, proper toilet, air conditioning, seakeeper, etc…) and very wide beam.
@@trogdortheburninator8149 been in stripers, gradys and one other that the name escapes me, in the 22 - 25ft range in 2 - 3m SW swell and hated it i preferred my haines 560f which i have had out in 5m + southerly swells game fishing. Tidal do an awesome centre console which i prefer over veitch cc. No doubt american boats have more bling i just dont rate them for offshore.
Insane riding boat. Looks like 500hp is more than enough for Lyndon. What a weapon. Ours is getting twin 300hp Verados. Can't wait! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HCE1tDc1LDA.htmlsi=Ih6ofFKcNiXWtYiT
Good on them trying to improve the design, personally dont like the look of the hard top, cabin entry not great. 733 still think is the nicer hull, shame no one is doing the 733
Makes sense though. If you have a few spare millions maybe, but if you "only" have 500k you probably wouldn't spend it all on either a Ferrari or this boat... You'd have to be absolutely mild. And I don't think there's an awful lot of mild people with 500k or a few millions laying around so...
I hear that Raymarine’s stuff is great. But have a look at the new (and overpriced) 4K Garmin 9000 screens before you say that Raymarine have the best screens on the market.
What's with this silly americanization where you cram more and more stuff and oversized engines onto what was supposed to be a "light" boat. And then surprise, it doesn't ride as nice as you wanted to and you have to put it on a diet... I guess you do have your petrolheads, too but this is just plain silly. Also, good to know they have Valley girls in Oz;). Anyhow, good on you for calling the power thing out and congrats on the boys marlin. That was the coolest thing of the whole piece.
