I don't think he's an actor.. If you know a little bit of trick on magic.. you can see clearly when he switched or hide. Then the camera angle helps and cut. Like they cut when he distract the customer while switching and point on his face. If he's an actor, that'll will be fine. But it is possible to do this on public most ideal store. Not open area.

1:36 switch of the half orange to the original orange, the cut a little bit and 1:39 you can see it is now an orange but on his Point of view it is still the half. While showing the orange, he then remove the bottom half of the orange off his hand and pretend that it is still there.

here is the trick : - 1:36 he took a real orange using his right hand below the table - 1:39 distracts the person to look higher while he empties his left hand dropping the half fake orange - 1:42 makes it seem like he is putting the two pieces together while his left hand is empty

An orange is different in that it's closed, you know no one has touched it with their finger and such. One knows that another person's germs is not going to get transmitted to them from the orange.

Michael does know to spin his explanations. And he makes it sound so real when you know there's no way that it is true. What adds to the illusion is the store setting, so you automatically expect stuff to be real.

He's just switching out a real orange with a fake hollow foam one via sleight of hand. At 1:32, as he dumps the candy out on the table and diverts the guy's attention to his left hand, his right hand, which is holding the top half of the fake orange, dips under the table. While the guy is still focused on his left hand and the candy, Mike switches the fake top half with a real orange under the table. Then, at 1:38, he attracts the guy's attention to his right hand and face, giving his left hand a second's worth of cover to ditch the bottom half of the fake orange under the table. At 1:41, his left hand is already empty, and he's just pretending to screw something to the bottom of the real orange. From there on out, for the rest of the video, they're just dealing with the real orange, no tricks involved.
