In my opinion the young players on the Cardinals should focus on what they are doing, Burleson, Gorman, Winn, Herrera. Because they have had good years individuallyso far and they are the ones that are carrying this team offensively. These veteran players that are struggling they'll all be gone and forgotten about by 2026. The Cardinals organization will take care of these specific players that have let the organization down this year. To the young players focus on the good individual seasons your having. Because these veteran players will be taken care of.
I've been saying since last year if you to get the cardinals out of an inning, just load the bases. Nobody is going to hit the ball hard, there's an out at ecru base, double and triple play opportunities, and you can always throw a meatball down the middle with 2 strikes to get a called strike 3. We need Nootbar back in the lineup. Why is Goldschmidt still hitting in the 3 spot? Siani missed a bunt opportunity against the rockies today. Runner on 1st with 1 out and Mason Winn on deck. Get the runner on scoring position and see what happens. Siani just flies out. Then the runner gets picked off right before Winn hits a line drive for a single. Except for Burelson and Gorman, everybody else in the lineup need to thinking small ball approach. Maybe we need to recall Victor Scott to be a late inning pinch runner so he can steal 2nd and possibly 3rd in close games late. I don't know, these guys look lost too often with risp.
Well they do have two series with the Braves but I agree for the most part if Mo was smart he’d start setting the market early and make the moves for the guys they want before they are gone IE Gibson Gray Lynn in November
Charlie, Cat, Bernie and the vocal Card fan base is just as guilty for the low avg with RISP as the front office. This is the result of a decade of “BATtinG AVeraGE is OVERates.” If you can’t make contact you can’t advance runners or try them across the plate. The Cards inner circle of fandom has been preaching “exit velocity and launch angle” for a decade, aka swing for the fence, and now they are confused as to why they can’t actually hit.
And they have the worst defensive runs saved in MLB. It’s a surprise that they’re almost .500. A lot of fixin’ to do. Clutch Alan Craig .455. That year was craaaazy. Matt Holiday .390. And the full list Bernie gave. Amazing season. And look at us now. 🙄”Hard to watch the stuff we watch this year.” Well said Bernie.
Can you look up what Yadi was with risp by inning? I have a sneaky suspicion that even towards the end of his career, the closer the game, the tighter the situation, the better he got.
Where is Edman and his status there has been absolutely no news since spring training.. Contreras imo was a crazy fluke accident Edman 8 mil not playing Middleton 6 mil surgery Gio 5 mil yeah Matz 11 mil mhm if you add Contreras into that if you like the number jumps but with the ones mentioned that’s 30 mil in payroll doing absolutely nothing this team can’t sustain with Carp as the DH and an outfield leaning on Carlson or Siani.. and we kept Carlson over getting Soto.. unless some solid moves are made soon to keep this going for a wild card then there is no hope till 2026… because they don’t have it collectively imo to catch the Brewers.. in reality only chance is at a wild card unfortunately
Yeah this has been really sloppy and as much as say stuff like needing to split up Goldy and Nado because they quite often get outs in a row the reality many players quite often get out which is why they often have a ton of trouble scoring over 3-4 points a game.
