Were there a lot of blacks on the Carnival Elation? I’m going on it next week leaving Monday through Saturday. Hoping to have a nice cruise without all the ghetto behavior if that’s possible.
I loved this ship, it was my first cruise. I like the older designs, it felt special. Also was better than the bigger ships I have since been on because it was smaller and less people
This WILL BE my first cruise too! I'm going in January 2024, with my Mom, uncle and aunt! All of them have cruised before. Less people? That's good, since I suffer from autism and don't like crowds. I'm hoping that the CARNIVAL ELATION will be small enough for me to have a wonderful time. Those giants that carry like 6,000 people kinda make me nervous! 😮
I agree. I was just in Vision of the Seas, one of the older and smallest ships, and it was my favorite! Was sold out but never felt crowded and always plenty of pool space
I started cruising as a kid. My family definitely wanted me to have access to traveling the world. Now that I’m older I’ve started to look back into going on cruises. Leisure and relaxation is what I enjoy while vacationing. Definitely will be looking at cruises from this port VERY SOON.
We're going in January. I'm 67, just got married for the first time, Now I'm going on my first cruise. I'm glad it's a small ship. don't need anything bigger. Thanks for the tour.
Saturday, my husband and I will be on this ship for our 1st year wedding anniversary! We've cruised on other lines but this is our first Carnival Cruise experience. It will be cool to now be able to make comparisons.
Last cruise I've gotten to go on to date was on this ship in early 2012, out of New Orleans. We got delayed departing until 2 in the morning, because somebody on the docks had screwed up and spilled oil from a tanker over everybody's luggage. I remember standing on the sun deck, in front of that clock at the forward antenna, while the captain came on the intercom and gave an update. Very chaotic trip, but a great one nonetheless. Glad to see that Elation itself is still in pretty good condition after being in service for so long!
20:45 Deck 7 just aft of the funnel is where my (inside) cabin is going to be! It's my first time on a cruise ship so I've been looking at CARNIVAL ELATION reviews. I'm going with my uncle aunt and my mom in January 2024. Wanted to "sneak peak" what was onboard 😁 ! Can't wait to go!
My family and I are also going in October. We went on this ship on our very first cruise. It is smaller but still so fun! You'll love it! Congratulations!
we had no issue getting to cruise port via Uber, but when we were trying to get back to airport from cruise ship it took about 30+ minutes to get an Uber. We thought there would be a lot of Uber drivers in that area, but it did take us a few minutes to get a ride to airport. I would say Uber is still the better option because I saw no taxis at the port.
8:46 Don't be touching all the food! Ain't nothing worse than someone who goes around "checking" for the freshest roll! Makes me Chihuahua type of insane! Please don't go around touching my food!
20:19 Just checked on the status of the CARNIVAL IMAGINATION - CARNIVAL IMAGINATION was, sadly taken out of service just this year (2023), and she was sent to Aliaga (spelling?) for scrapping. This leaves CARNIVAL ELATION and the CARNIVAL PARADISE as the last of the Fantasy Class Cruise Ships in service! So sad to think that they are on borrowed time now. TITANIC's older sister the OLYMPIC only served for 24 years. These two (as of 2023) are entering their 25th year of service! Just a little something to consider - no ship "lives" forever 😢 !
Carnival Imagination, Inspiration, Fantasy, Fascination, Sensation were taken out a few years ago, starting in 2020. Ecstasy was the last to be retired in 2022.
@@kennywalker4091 - I know. That leaves the CARNIVAL ELATION and the CARNIVAL PARADISE as the last Fantasy Class cruise ships. BOTH of them were built in 1998 and have azipods (looks like big isolating fans, but underwater 😉). The first 6 ships were made with straight propeller shafts connected to the engines. I guess CCL thought the shaft ships were obsolete and only kept the last 2 ships.
All the Fantasy Class ships Serenity Decks are on the back of the ship. You have to either go through the back of the theater or through the buffet and go down the stairs at the rear of the ship.
Wait - the CARNIVAL ELATION is going to be scrapped in 2025?! 😢 It's just sad to see to see the old girl go, but unfortunately no ship lives forever. Even QUEEN MARY is having lots of problems right now. SS UNITED STATES is barely a ship - just a stripped out shell. Both in very sad condition.
Of course not. It's in the middle of the afternoon at port, most everyone is off the ship and most everything on the ship is closed. But at night when everyone is back on board and everything is open it's quite lively and entertaining.
@@phillipjohnson8241 nah you just suck at vacationing. Relaxing with a cold drink is all you need. If you need more then you must have adhd or something
