The Cars Bye Bye Love Live 1978 

I saw the Cars in 1979, when they were just on the cusp of their enormous fame. I still remember the obvious joy Benjamin Orr had in playing; he was definitely the lead. It was nothing like this event; but of course it was an American audience, and they loved the band!

Benjamin then glanced at Ric as if to say "see that man?" What a cool guy, kept singing, didn't miss a beat. Again, love the guitar wars Ben and Elliot have at the start and end of each performance of this tune!

It's really rare when a vocalists voice is as good live as in the studio. Orr definitely had a great live voice

At the :33 second mark of the video.... Something flies by Ben Orrs head. He finishes the line..."Electric angel rock and roller...I hear what you're playing." The he MOUTHS the words..."I'm gonna get you." Pretty fucking cool....Bens voice is killer in this clip. My favorite Cars song. Thanks for the upload.

As a guy I'm not afraid to say Benny O was god damned sexy in '78

The GREAT Greg Hawkes is absolutely BURIED! Where is his incredible solo in this mix? He is barely audible, then the mixer slides him up just a bit to semi-audible.

Probably their best song right here....Ben was something...and is missed bigtime.

It's amazing how many of their songs are still played daily on radios around the world.

These guys sound fantastic live. Easton is very underrated, a great all around guitarist.
