I think Dodger likes the Sherlock Holmes universe but isn't actually good at being Sherlock. I mean, to be a fan of Sherlock Holmes doesn't automatically make you excellent at doing detective work, much like if one's a fan of Game of Thrones, they're not automatically good at Swordfighting. I think Dodger's merely a novice when it comes to these kinds of games.. That and she's not really the best at Video Games. I mean, she didn't even know how to bind spells to a hotbar in World of Warcraft. I cannot exactly blame her for not paying attention to certain bits and missing certain things in the Sherlock Game. I think it's quite humorous to watch her fumble about. Although, it does irk me when I think about it from a certain standpoint. I mean, Sherlock wouldn't make the mistakes Dodger makes. Conclusion : It's fine to like a universe, fiction or what-not even if you're not particularly skilled when it comes to actually doing what's in that said universe. Also, Dodger is not a very good Sherlock.

I came here to see a cat lady play a detective game. I was not disappointed.

I feel the same my friend likes sherlock. That makes me mad because he is not instantly a good detective. Similarly to you if my friend likes a show like merlin and he doesn't know the monsters by heart it just surprises me. Why can't people instantly be like the main character of the show they like.(PS I'm mocking him guys)

That actually reminds me of an episode of "Zero Punctuation", in which Yathzee comes up with the titles "Sherlock Holmes vs. Cthulhu" and "Nancy Drew meets Mecha-Godzilla" :D

It involves a cult that worships a Lovecraftian monster and I won't spoil any more than that. Best and creepiest game in the series.

I somewhat agree with you. However, I did notice a reference to Lovecraft earlier in the series. See episode 3, at 9:50. One of the options under Art and Architecture is "Early R'lyeh". R'lyeh is a fictional city from Lovecraft's "The Call of Cthulhu". This is quite interesting... o_O I wonder if this will be of any relevance later in the series.
