Spring Awakening cast sings "Touch Me" during the strike! So I heard one of the cast members (I don't remember who) say "I wonder how long it'll take for this to get on youtube" well, here it is :]
its so incredible how they all just are a big family... i cant even imagine what it must be like to have been in the original cast. i think its so beautiful how they're all just singing this perfectly on the streets of ny.
@EleLoris Jonathan was filming a pilot for non other than Ryan Murphy! It was called Pretty Handsome, and it never went anywhere. But that's how Ryan met Lea.

I think it's more because it's such a controversial show. When I went to see the show, I heard a lot of "I can't believe they'd allow for a show like that to show on Broadway". It's sad that even over a century after it was written, people still can't handle the content of it.
And matt has little baby Jacob with him! (Or it could be Laila when he first got her, but I doubt it since he had posted a pic of her in an incubator for pneumonia when she was that size. I doubt he'd bring her out in the cold like that)
@Arqueete at 1:05 you can clearly hear her laugh (she has a unique laugh)..so probably she stopped by and left early..or she came later...i know from friends she attended a few times during the strike, but she wasn't there every day.... i think she stood off to the right side...the cam goes a lil right at 1:51 and i think she is the one with the black hat/beanie whatever lol
Gallagher is there. Groff is filming a TV pilot on FX- called "Pretty Handsome". Matt Doyle was supposed to be filling in for him, but because of the strike he couldn't perform :( Poor Matt. Oh well.
This is freaking AMAZING. I'm going to be in NYC next week. In a way I hope this strike continues... But really I hope it gets resolved soon (not that I have the money to see any shows!)
It basically is besides Blake Daniel, because by this time Gideon left, and the understudies. Matt was Melchior because Jonathan was shooting a pilot, and idk why Lea wasn't there. But otherwise, it is the Broadway cast, not the tour cast.
@mazza20007 The person in the pink hat on the right is definitely Kimberly Grisby, and it's hard to say, but I'd guess the pink hat center-ish is Frances Mercanti-Anthony? It doesn't look like Lea to me, personally. I'm trusting that the people who say she was gone are right mostly because she doesn't sing Wendla's solos in any of the other strike videos.
yeah he's been gone for several months now. he was the first original non ensemble castmember to leave. he's in a new off broadway show called speech and debate though.
if you listen carefully the Local 802 musicians had come around behind and were singing their instrument parts, you can hear them a few times singing backup for the kids, BCJ was right next to them, you cant see him but he really got into it with one of the musicians and everyone was laughing at them gettin down with it
I can't say for sure that's why they're closing, but that seems to be the only logical reason that they'd close it, because it's such a popular show, and it's only been on Broadway for like 2 years. I wouldn't be surprised if in ten years it made its way back to Broadway, it wouldn't be the first time it's happened.
Blake Daniel and Gideon Glick both have a different..quality to their voices, but i appreciate both of them so much. I love love love both of them, and I'm glad Blake can do justice to the part. Its hard to follow in Gideon's shoes.
oh my god..this is so funny...Blake Stage Company is just like this!!! no matter where, theatre kids/adults [like ppl in theatre ever are..] are always the same...awkward sing-alongs in public
