This is utterly surreal. Making Shatner seem completely grounded isn't the easiest. I remember this guy from That's Incredible but had no idea of this show.

This was an absolute TREAT! So many of them are gone. I didn't even know that Bibi Besch was gone from breast cancer 14 years after this aired.

Saw this for the first time. Brings back wonderful memories. Unfortunately, there are only 3 of the original cast left. RIP Leonard Nimoy, James Doohan, Deforest Kelley, Nichelle Nichols. Mr. Shatner, Walter Koenig, George Takei LLAP

Vantastic to get so many cast members here. Kahn would have really been cool being on board here too. Glad they had Kirstie Allie as Mr. Savik. She did a great job. Shelly Long just wouldn't have been near as good in the part.

2001 was released in 1968. Star Trek was canceled in 1969.

I just uploaded it into the youtube void without fanfare a while back, never posted a link anywhere or alerted any Star Trek blogs, etc. The RU-vid algorithm's only recently picked up on it and started placing it higher on search and recommendations.

It's funny Michelle Nichols talks about her character having such a positive impact on all women as a strong feminine role model....with those really great looking very high skirts. Thank goodness in the far future all that feminine sexist nonsense has been replaced with society having a very natural recognition of a nature giving girls a great set of legs!

I was genuinely hoping Mr. Davidson would NOT sing. Three minutes in, that hope was dashed and pulverized upon the unforgiving shoals of Early 80’s Crap Entertainment. There Is No God.
